Chapter 23: Level 10 Pharmacist!

“You can really make it?”

The man named Gu Xuanyun looked at me, a smirk crossing his face.

Then, in a flash, he yanked off my hood.

His move was so fast I couldn’t react—my hood was gone before I knew it!

“?!”

“You can make it? A girl your age, barely an adult, claims she can craft a [Holy High-Tier Revival Potion] that even master alchemists struggle to perfect? Are you messing with me, kid?”

Gu Xuanyun loomed over me, openly scornful.

“Ahem—miss, I don’t know who you are, but please don’t toy with our important Golden Skull Auction client.”

The supervisor glanced at me, coughing politely, his tone neutral but clearly urging me to leave without offense.

“…Wait, I can prove I can make it!”

Seeing the big client about to dismiss me, I hurriedly spoke up.

“Prove it? How?”

He laughed, as if amused by my audacity.

“Do you have a potion of the same tier?”

“…No.”

“Do you have an alchemist certification?”

“…No.”

“Then how do you plan to prove it?”

He looked at me playfully, not letting me off easily.

“Uh… Supervisor! I need to verify my auction identity! Get me the verifier!”

I glanced at Gu Xuanyun, knowing I needed solid proof to secure this critical commission—those crystals in his hand were exactly what I needed!

“…Please wait.”

The supervisor paused, surprised, but dutifully handed me a device.

“Enter your twenty-digit identity code.”

“…”

I took the device and input the twenty-digit code from memory.

The device confirmed it, displaying a profile page.

Besides my alias [Hidden Moon], it listed several professional titles.

…Like Grand Sorcerer, Necromancy Master, Construct Master, Rune Scholar, and more.

These titles were legit in my past life, but seeing them now shocked even me—others would think the device malfunctioned!

I quickly hid all but one title: Level 10 Alchemist.

“Here, look. My alias is [Hidden Moon], registered at Golden Skull as a max-level Level 10 Alchemist. Making a [Holy High-Tier Revival Potion] isn’t hard for me.”

After adjusting the display, I showed it to the supervisor and Gu Xuanyun. The man, previously brimming with menace, froze.

“…A real Level 10 Alchemist?”

Gu Xuanyun was dumbfounded.

“You think it’s fake? Or the device is broken?”

I glanced at him. “You can have the supervisor get another device, and I’ll input it again to see if it’s the same.”

“…No need for that.”

He rubbed his chin, pondering, then replied, clearly stunned that I was actually a registered Level 10 Alchemist at Golden Skull.

“So, can I take the commission?”

I blinked, asking.

“Absolutely no problem!”

The supervisor looked at me, suddenly all respect.

“Due to our auction’s error causing Mr. Xuanyun’s loss, we’ll cover the commission cost. Mr. Xuanyun, would you like Miss [Hidden Moon] to handle the new potion?”

“…Hmph, what other choice is there? Let her do it. I need it in two weeks!”

“Two weeks? I need at least twenty days…”

“I don’t care. Two weeks, or nothing.”

I frowned at his demand, protesting, but he ignored me, setting the deadline.

“If you can’t do it, I’m done.”

“…Fine, I’ll try, but I need to confirm payment and an advance!”

I gritted my teeth, replying.

“Settle that with the auction.”

He snorted, clearly done wasting time.

“I’m Gu Xuanyun. I’ll be back in two weeks for the goods. Don’t disappoint me.”

He spoke coldly, then left without another word, still in a foul mood.

“…What a temper.”

I muttered, watching him go, then turned to the supervisor.

“Alright, looks like your VIP isn’t in the mood to chat. Let’s continue… How much do I get?”

“The reward for completion is twenty gold coins, with materials provided by us…”

“Twenty gold coins? Good. But I want a five-gold-coin advance, four of which in mid-to-high-tier magic crystals, and all necessary equipment provided—my current tools aren’t enough.”

Hearing the twenty-gold-coin reward, I perked up but didn’t miss the chance to push for more—money first!

“That… no problem!”

The supervisor hesitated but agreed—my demands weren’t outrageous, and equipment was a small cost.

Golden Skull had to eat the loss to appease Gu Xuanyun, their big client. I’d capitalized on that to push my conditions.
