Chapter 40: The weakling trying to become stronger (Part 2)
After buying the potions, I entered the VIP training room. Setting down the backpack with my egg babies, I eyed the body-enhancing potion, blinked, uncorked it, and drank it down.
As it hit my stomach, a warm sensation spread, my body temperature rising.
“Phew…”
Exhaling a hot breath, I stripped off excess clothes, leaving just a tank top and flexible pants, and stepped into a white-marked training area.
“Ugh—”
The moment I entered, it felt like someone my weight was pressing down on me!
This was a gravity field—double gravity. It was like carrying a clone of myself.
“…Ugh—this is rough.”
My stomach churned, and I gagged slightly… Despite downing potions, I’m still frail. Double gravity was enough to make me uncomfortable.
…No surprise, though. I’m not even a Bronze-rank warrior. Jumping straight to double gravity was brutal.
But if I’m not tough on myself, I won’t improve.
“…Huff! Run, run!!!”
Taking a deep breath, I gritted my teeth and forced myself to jog around the gravity field.
No breakthrough comes without pushing my limits. Past exercises were just fitness—this is real training!
First goal: train for an hour in double gravity and see how it goes.
“Huff… huff… huff…”
But double gravity was more exhausting than I expected.
After two laps, I was panting, chest tight and aching, struggling to breathe. My body grew heavy, my brain felt oxygen-starved, and my vision swayed. I was drenched in sweat already.
By the third lap, I slowed. By the fourth, I could only walk, desperate to catch my breath.
“…My gosh.”
Home workouts were child’s play. Here, I realized that despite some progress, my body was still pathetically weak—barely managing a short stint in double gravity.
“…Should I rest?”
Gasping, the thought crept in—but I quickly shook it off.
No way! Stopping halfway is unacceptable!
I’m here to break my limits! Feeling tired is no excuse to quit!
I’m too weak! Far too weak! If I don’t improve, I’ll be helpless when disaster strikes!
I’ve reached the peak before. I know the world of the strong—it’s still survival of the fittest.
In this life, I don’t seek riches, power, or glory. All I want is to live well.
To live with my egg babies—anyone who dares target us, I’ll fight to the death!
As for their father? Forget it. No clue who that scum is. He better pray I never find him, or… hmph! I won’t go easy on trash!
Fuming, I clenched my teeth and kept running in the gravity field.
