Chapter 55: Black Jade City Mutation (I)
No choice—Gu Xuanyun’s my big client. Having done this twice before, I didn’t bother with small talk, keeping a straight face as I prepared to apply the potion.
When he stripped off his shirt, I frowned.
“What’s with you? More wounds? At this rate, ten bottles of Holy High-Tier Revival Potion won’t be enough.”
Seeing new gashes on his body, I couldn’t help but comment.
“…Why do you care so much?”
He didn’t answer right away, staring at me silently before responding.
“You’re my big client. Caring a bit about your health and safety is normal, right?”
I shot back, not wanting to dwell on it—it was just a casual remark.
“…Hmph, new wounds on old ones, can’t help it… Hurry up and finish. This city’s getting unsafe; you should leave soon too.”
He spoke, even warning me at the end.
“I know. After applying this and getting paid, I’m out. Guess we’ll only connect through Golden Skull from now on—but don’t worry, I’ll make your potions on time, no matter the distance.”
I waved him over to sit so I could apply the potion.
“This part today.”
He pointed to his chest near his heart, and I nodded silently.
He lay down, and I sat beside him, opening the potion bottle and dabbing it onto my fingertips before applying it to his wounds.
…Honestly, this might be my first time touching another man’s pecs.
Gu Xuanyun’s chest was, unsurprisingly, ripped—he’s a muscular, handsome beast.
But I focused solely on applying the potion, not thinking about anything else—
What’s there to think about with guys…
Soon, I finished treating his wounds and handed him the half-empty bottle.
Without a word, he grabbed it, downed it in one go.
“…Thanks for the three potions. See you if fate allows.”
After drinking, he put his shirt back on, said his piece, and left, clearly as unwilling to waste time as I was.
“Phew… Done. Time to go.”
Exhaling, I slung on my backpack with the egg babies and left the VIP room to collect my payment from the supervisor.
“Here’s your twenty gold coins, Miss Hidden Moon. Please take it. Also, a car’s waiting outside to take you to the train station.”
The supervisor spoke respectfully, and I nodded, taking the money and heading to the door.
Sure enough, a small car waited outside, with a driver standing respectfully by the door.
“Please get in, miss. I’ll take you to the train station. Our staff there will assist you onto a train to another city.”
He spoke calmly, and I nodded, stepping forward.
But as I did, an alarm blared in my mind—a surge of danger closing in fast!
Without hesitation, I dove to the side and hit the ground. Under the driver’s shocked gaze, the car behind him exploded!
Before it happened, I clearly saw it—a Blast Flame spell!!!
BOOM!
With a deafening roar, the stunned driver was engulfed in flames, the sleek car reduced to twisted metal. I lay on the dirty ground, tense and shaken—
What the hell just happened!?
