Chapter 71: Count Nana Lu (Part 2)

“…Lady Countess, we’re running out of time. Please proceed according to the Duke’s plan.”

As Nanaru stood there, seemingly lost in thought, one of her black-clad attendants stepped forward and spoke.
“Hmph, no need to mention that old fossil.”

Nanaru let out a cold snort at the reminder.
“You all wait here. There’s something… I need to confirm. As for you, Viscount Badka, fend for yourself.”

Nanaru nodded to the group, then turned and headed toward a dilapidated restaurant, following her instincts.
“…But, Lady Countess…”

“I said, stay here.”

The attendant who’d spoken up tried to protest, but Nanaru glanced back with an icy stare.
“…Yes, ma’am.”

Shivering under her chilling gaze, the attendant realized he’d overstepped, though he couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
The Countess seemed increasingly impatient and agitated.

Satisfied with her attendants’ obedience, Nanaru nodded and eagerly continued toward her destination.
At first, she was merely curious about the faint scent of blood, but within seconds, it had turned into an irresistible pull.
After that brief delay, she was already growing impatient—a rare lapse for her, who seldom lost composure.

Regardless, Nanaru was determined to investigate.
Her footsteps echoed on the floor as she scanned the surroundings, quickly pinpointing what had drawn her attention.
A few drops of blood on broken glass.

In an instant, Nanaru’s breathing grew rapid—
Even though the blood lay on the filthy floor, she had an overwhelming urge to kneel and lick it.
Beyond her initial thirst for blood, she had never felt such an intense desire to taste it—not even for mere drops, now dusted with grime.

Oddly, though the blood’s owner had clearly left some time ago, the drops hadn’t yet dried.
Regardless, Nanaru’s throat felt parched with an unbearable thirst.
She desperately wanted to bend down and lick them… but her rationality wouldn’t allow such a disgraceful act.

Yet her rationality didn’t hold for long before it shattered.
Unable to resist her vampiric instincts, she threw herself at the glass, her scarlet tongue delicately licking the tantalizing blood drops into her mouth.

“…This… This blood… It’s the most exquisite in the world!”

After consuming every drop, Nanaru, kneeling on the floor, was momentarily entranced by the sensation—
Those few drops, instantly broken down and absorbed by her blood clan abilities, flooded her with an unprecedented surge of vitality.
In a fleeting moment, she was utterly captivated.

Nanaru tilted her head slightly, savoring the lingering taste, clearly unsatisfied by the meager amount.
If just a few drops could bring such ecstasy, biting into the source and drinking deeply would surpass all pleasures!

“…I… I must find the owner of this blood… I’ll make her my blood thrall… No! I’ll give her the First Embrace! I’ll savor her forever!”

A trace of ferocity crept onto her once-elegant face, her decision made.
She stood, striding toward the street without hesitation—she had questions for that useless viscount.
