Chapter 59: Don’t talk on the phone…

In the end, he didn’t lock the door.

No way around it—old habits die hard.
Even with a girl suddenly moving in, he couldn’t just change his routine overnight.

After a shower, Meng Zhi went back to his room, played a couple of games, and felt exhausted after just one or two rounds.
He shut off the computer, flopped onto the bed, and started scrolling through his phone.

The next room had gone quiet. Feng Xiyue was probably asleep.

It was 12:30 a.m., prime time for the QQ gaming groups he was in.
People were spamming all sorts of spicy images—anime, cosplay, stockings, lolita girls with exaggerated curves, every fetish covered.

He casually clicked on a couple, but soon enough, the group’s images had him worked up.

‘…Come to think of it, maybe it’s because this life’s been too chill.’

In past lives, he never felt his urges were this strong.
Or maybe it was because he was always too busy to notice before he had to “pay the toll.”

Either way, in this life, Meng Zhi felt like he was indulging more often.
If he went too long without, he’d get sensitive, and a single spicy image could set him off.

Or maybe it was because Feng Xiyue, that little temptress, was always prancing around, trying to mess with his head.

What could he do? Guys are like that.
A guy who wasn’t a little pervy would be the weird one, right?

No point fighting it. Time to take care of business.

Just as Meng Zhi was picking his “side dish,” the door suddenly burst open.
Feng Xiyue, in cartoon pajamas, strolled in casually.
“Brother Meng Zhi, can you help me with these problems—”

“Knock before you barge into someone’s room!!!”

Seeing Meng Zhi angrily yank the blanket over himself, Feng Xiyue froze, then pouted sulkily.

“…You’re so weird.”

“You don’t want to do anything with me, but then you sneak off to your room to take care of yourself. You’ve got a gorgeous little sister right next door, and you’re ignoring her. What’s going through your head?”

‘Is it possible…’

‘That this is how a normal person thinks?’

“Are you done? If you’ve got nothing else, get out and stop bothering me!”

Feng Xiyue glanced at his blanket, sniffing dismissively.
“Hmph. All talk.”

“I’ll leave if you want, but your math’s pretty good, right? Teach me these problems first.”

Math? Now?

It’s past midnight!

“No choice.”
Feng Xiyue’s cheeks flushed with a hint of embarrassment, her eyes dodging his.
“I’ve got work and band practice during the day.”

Meng Zhi blinked.

This girl was really serious about self-studying.

“…Fine, let’s make this quick.”
With no other option, Meng Zhi sat up, scratching his head.
“Show me the problems.”

“It’s the classic derivative questions. I can never score well on these in practice tests…”

Feng Xiyue sat beside him with her study materials and notebook.
She wore only a light pink cartoon pajama set, her hair carrying the faint scent of shampoo.

Her collar was slightly open, revealing her fair collarbone.
Her perky chest made it clear she wasn’t wearing anything underneath.

Though Meng Zhi tried hard to focus on her questions, his eyes kept drifting.

“…Hey.”

He snapped back to reality, only to meet Feng Xiyue’s predatory gaze.

“If you can’t focus, want me to help you… let off some steam first?”

“You’re imagining things.”
Meng Zhi coughed, grabbing a pen to jot down solutions.
“If you don’t know where to start with derivatives, try this…”

He wasn’t the best teacher, but he explained in a way Feng Xiyue could follow.

She wasn’t dumb. Soon enough, she caught on, lying on the bed, scribbling calculations.

Taking the chance, Meng Zhi grabbed his phone, hoping to watch some gaming videos to distract himself.

But then, a WeChat call came in.

It was Chen Xinya.

“Hey, Meng Zhi, you’re still up, right? Not disturbing you this late?”

“Nah, I’m up. What’s up?”

At Chen Xinya’s voice, Feng Xiyue, who’d been focused on her work, perked up her ears.

“It’s about meeting tomorrow. If we’re going back to our old school, the security won’t let us in without a teacher’s referral, right? Since it’s summer break, I was thinking about which teacher to ask…”

“Couldn’t you just text me about this? Why call?”

“Well… I kinda wanted to hear your voice.”
Chen Xinya’s tone was shy over the phone.

‘…Tch, sneaky green tea.’

Feng Xiyue rolled her eyes, unimpressed.

But remembering the photo incident from that morning, a spark of vengeance lit up.
She suddenly had a brilliant idea to get back at her.

“The biology teacher would work. Old Li was the grade director, and he got along well with the guys—hiss!”

Meng Zhi sucked in a breath, glaring at Feng Xiyue.

She pretended nothing was up, diligently working on her math.

But her other hand had, at some point, slipped silently under Meng Zhi’s blanket.

“What’s wrong?” Chen Xinya’s concerned voice came through.

“Oh, n-nothing.”
Meng Zhi forced a smile, shoving Feng Xiyue’s hand away.
“Clipped my nail too short, hit the skin.”

“Ouch, that must hurt. Is it bleeding? Got any Band-Aids at home?”

“It’s fine, no blood, just—hiss.”

Meng Zhi looked down.
The hand he’d pushed away was now held by Feng Xiyue, her cherry lips gently wrapped around his finger.

The soft, wet sensation of her tongue gliding over his skin sent goosebumps racing across his body.

“That bad?”
Chen Xinya’s voice grew more worried.
“Want me to come over? I’ve got a first-aid kit at home—iodine, alcohol, cotton swabs. I can help—”

“No, no, I’m good.”
Meng Zhi yanked his hand back, glaring at the snickering Feng Xiyue.
“You get some rest. See you tomorrow.”

“Okay… you rest early too.”

After hanging up, Chen Xinya stared at her phone, lost in thought.

‘Is Meng Zhi okay? Why’d he sound so weird?’

As she puzzled over it, a photo from Feng Xiyue popped up.

In it, Feng Xiyue, in pajamas, was sprawled ambiguously across Meng Zhi’s lap, her lips lightly biting his finger.

She even threw up a peace sign at the camera.

“…Huh?”
