Chapter 1: I Want to Fall in Love

It was almost ten at night.

Luo Su, having just finished her evening study session, boarded the last bus home.

Pingchang’s nights were beautiful.

Even at this hour, the city outside the bus window sparkled with lights, but Luo Su had no interest in admiring it. She slumped in a corner seat, yawning endlessly.

“So… so sleepy.”

Who could’ve known the pain of a commuting student still having to attend evening study?

She cracked the window open a sliver. The chilly night breeze, carrying the city’s scent, rushed in, clearing her head slightly.

Her rented apartment was still a long way off, so she couldn’t let herself collapse yet. If she missed her stop, she’d have to walk home—probably until tomorrow morning.

“I could still live in the dorms.”

Luo Su yawned again, resting her head against the window, feeling utterly defeated. In the dark glass near the floor, a reflection appeared—a slightly unfamiliar little girl.

Slender fingers rested obediently on her lap, pale as frost. Long, dark hair cascaded down, framing a face so striking it could steal your breath.

Luo Su was on the verge of tears, growing sadder the more she thought about it. ‘I’ll never make random wishes again. Please, let me turn back, okay?’

No shooting star. Everything stayed the same.

“Sigh…” Luo Su let out a breath. ‘Guess it’s still not happening, huh.’

A girl’s stammering voice came from behind. She pointed at the window, hesitating, words catching in her throat.

“…What’s wrong?”

Luo Su noticed her reflection, her heart racing instantly. She turned back, pretending to be calm. Luckily, as she turned, the reflection in the glass faded into darkness.

“Huh?”

The girl froze, then shrank back nervously. “N-nothing… I must’ve seen it wrong.”

“Okay…”

Luo Su quietly exhaled, subtly shifting toward the inner side of the bus. If someone discovered her secret—well, even “ruined reputation” wouldn’t begin to describe the catastrophe she’d face.

A perfectly fine man… turned into a girl?

No matter how you looked at it, it was just too much, wasn’t it? A faint sadness settled over Luo Su. Returning to the dorms was impossible. The thought of a pitch-black dorm room, lights out at 8:30 p.m.…

Nope. That image was too much to bear.

After stops and starts, she finally reached her destination.

Luo Su dragged her tired body off the bus and climbed seven floors of a building with no elevator. The streetlights in the old residential area were mostly broken, so she used her phone to light the way.

Worse than the dorms… And getting home this late left her, a commuting student, with barely any freedom.

Luo Su shut the door behind her, stepped inside, and flicked on the light, tossing her backpack aside.

The apartment was barebones: one room, one bathroom, no air conditioning. Inside, there was just a wooden bed, a rickety nightstand, a small wardrobe, and… a somewhat decent floor-length mirror.

As for why there was a mirror… Every teenage boy’s room should have one to admire their handsome face, right? Totally reasonable.

Luo Su sighed and loosened the black ring on her left wrist.

As the ring came off, it slid into her shirt. From her back extended a slender, long tail! At its tip was a sizable heart, cheerfully swaying side to side with its owner’s mood.

“…!”

“Stop moving! I’m already annoyed!”

Luo Su grabbed the restless tail, puffing out her cheeks. Turning around, she saw no trace of a boy in the mirror—only the cute girl from the bus window’s reflection.

Every move she made was captivating.

If there was one flaw… maybe it was her flat chest. But for Luo Su, that wasn’t a flaw at all!

“Not bad for me!”

“Handsome when I need to be, cute when I want to be.”

After staring at her adorable reflection for a while, Luo Su felt life was still worth living. She gave a little twirl in front of the mirror, and the oversized boy’s clothes she wore dropped to the floor.

“!!!”

Luo Su’s face flushed red, and she quickly covered her eyes. This… was way too stimulating for a pure boy! After all, this… was even more intense than wearing nothing at all!

“Deep breaths…”

“It’s just you, Luo Su. Don’t be scared. Face her. It’s simple… Don’t panic… Don’t panic.”

After some quick self-reassurance,

Luo Su slowly opened her eyes. Her face was still red, but she wasn’t a pervert! It was just… this body was too, too good-looking, that’s all.

She’d looked it up on her phone.

A massive orange cat crawled out from under the bed, gently sniffing at Luo Su. It loved her scent.

“Oh, it’s Hulu.”

Luo Su stood up, forcing herself to stay composed. As the cat’s owner, she had to keep it together in front of her pet!

Hulu was an orange tabby.

When she first got him, he was tiny and scrawny. Now, thanks to her care, he was sleek and shiny, almost two-thirds the size of her “girl” form.

Luo Su reached to hug him but stumbled under his heavy weight. “Hulu, you really need to lose some weight!”

“Meow~” Hulu innocently licked her small face.

“…!”

Luo Su puffed out her cheeks, playfully burying her face in Hulu’s fluffy orange fur to wipe it clean!

“Hmph…”

A soft hum slipped out unconsciously.

Her black tail, betraying her composure, happily swayed in rhythm with Hulu’s big orange tail.

“If only… I could stay home every day…”

“And not have to go to school.”

In her cutest voice, Luo Su voiced her second-biggest wish in life. As for her first… obviously, it was to turn back!

And then, to have a sweet, sweet romance.
