Chapter 33: Your’e a pervert
This guy was making her do that again? Outrageous!
Zhou Ting watched the girl puff up like an angry kitten, a slight smile curling his lips as he hooked an arm around her slender waist.
“Really not eating? Fine, go back. I’ll eat alone.”
Lin Xiaoxiao glared, her indignation flaring. She was just venting…
Soon, Zhou Ting led her to a nearby food street.
Looking at the bustling stalls, Lin Xiaoxiao felt a twinge of nerves. This street was close to the university—what if she ran into someone she knew?
She tugged at his sleeve. “Maybe we should go somewhere else?”
He raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?”
She glanced around, hesitating. “N-nothing. It’s just… hard to imagine someone like you eating at street stalls.”
He sighed, ruffling her head, only for her to swat his hand away in annoyance.
“I’ve eaten worse. This is nothing. Stop stalling—I’m still hungry.”
She froze, taking a few seconds to catch his meaning, her face flushing.
“Jerk!”
Back at the hotel, her stomach full, Lin Xiaoxiao sprawled unceremoniously on the large bed.
Zhou Ting’s eyes darkened as he approached, grabbing her fair ankle. “Lying on the bed without changing shoes?”
She squirmed slightly, oblivious to the trouble brewing. “What’s the big deal? My feet aren’t even on the bed.”
He smirked, gently removing her heels. “Looks like you’ve finally mastered high heels. All those days and nights of practice paid off.”
Her teeth clenched at his teasing. “Oh, thanks so much!”
She hadn’t wanted to learn—she was forced!
But he ignored her sarcasm, sounding smug. “You’re welcome. If you really want to thank me…”
His gaze fell to her delicate foot, still in white stockings. He brought it to his nose, inhaling deeply.
The faint scent of her stockinged foot, sweet and intoxicating, hit him like a wave.
Lin Xiaoxiao froze, stunned.
It took several seconds to react. She yanked her foot back, kicking his face, and snapped, “Pervert!”
He licked his lips, a playful glint in his eyes. “Pretty smelly.”
Her jaw dropped, indignation replaced by doubt. “No way!”
Her feet didn’t smell… did they? It was hot out—maybe a little sweat was normal…
Her face reddened, her eyes darting away.
Seeing her shy, alluring expression, Zhou Ting’s gaze heated. Without another word, he leaned toward her, ready for some post-meal “exercise.”
Caught off guard, she let out a soft squeak, her lips sealed by his before she could protest.
It was destined to be a long night…
The next few days passed calmly. Lin Xiaoxiao learned Xiao He had dropped out and hadn’t returned to school.
She didn’t know Zhou Ting had a hand in it, but even if she did, she wouldn’t have said anything.
With her grandma’s surgery approaching, she took leave to stay at the hospital.
Zhou Ting came too. In the ward, sunlight streamed through the window as he watched the “boy” comfort Liu Yuzhen, his eyes softening.
Soon, Liu Yuzhen was wheeled into surgery.
Outside the operating room, Lin Xiaoxiao was a bundle of nerves.
Despite everyone’s reassurances—including her grandma’s optimism—she was scared.
Her grandma was old, and Lin Xiaoxiao knew her condition well. The doctor had warned of risks.
As anxiety gnawed at her, Zhou Ting took her hand. “Don’t be nervous. Dr. Wang is one of the best in his field. It’ll be fine.”
She nodded, but worry lingered. He could tell—her palms were sweaty.
He led her to a chair, sitting quietly beside her as they waited.
She hesitated. “You don’t have to stay. You must be busy, right?”
He shook his head. “It’s fine. I’ll wait with you.”
His words warmed her heart. Looking at his mature, steady face, she felt grateful.
At some point, his presence had woven itself into her life…
Time ticked by. Hours later, the operating room doors opened.
Lin Xiaoxiao rushed forward. “Dr. Wang, how is she? Is my grandma okay?”
The doctor removed his mask, smiling faintly at her and Zhou Ting. “Don’t worry, Miss Lin. The surgery was a success. She’ll be monitored for a bit, then moved to a regular ward.”
Relief flooded her. Turning to Zhou Ting, she impulsively hugged him. “Zhou Ting, thank you…”
His arms wrapped around her, her sweet scent filling his senses as he chuckled. “A verbal thank you? A night of gratitude would be more… substantial.”
Her face flushed, and she glared. “Be serious! I mean it.”
Did this guy’s mind always drift to that?
He shrugged. “I’m serious too.”
Speechless, she turned to discuss follow-up care with the doctor.
When everything settled, Zhou Ting had left for business.
Sitting outside the ward, basking in the sunlight, Lin Xiaoxiao felt lighter than ever.
Her grandma’s illness, a heavy stone on her heart, was finally lifted.
But thinking of her deal with Zhou Ting, a strange feeling stirred.
This illicit relationship—how long would it last? How long did she want it to last?
