Chapter 26: A Flyer Finish and a Misidentity Mix-Up

“Hmph!”

Gao Ye proudly shook his empty flyer bag, nose practically touching the sky. “How’s that? Efficiency on point, right?”

Luo Su’s eyes sparkled with mock awe. “OP!”

“Obviously!” Gao Ye flicked his nose coolly, tossing the bag over his shoulder. “Let’s go! Grab our pay and feast!”

“Roger that!”

Luo Su eagerly followed. Today, this guy was oddly reliable—she’d grudgingly admit he was slightly awesome!

After all, her flyers—

Gao Ye had handled most of them, hehe. Having a dependable bro was the best!

“By the way…”

Gao Ye, having dumped all his earnings into his game, was itching to get home. “Isn’t lunch a bit early now?”

“Ugh…”

Luo Su rubbed her stomach, glancing at the sun barely halfway up, nodding. “Kinda early.” Two and a half hours of flyers,

And it was only 10:30.

“How about gaming somewhere?” Gao Ye leaned in with a sly grin. “Got power that’s not yours—what do you do? Answer: Crush your bro first!”

Luo Su: “…”

Ten minutes later, at the mall’s third-floor milk tea shop, Luo Su bought two pearl milk teas, her tail twitching irritably under her wrist—joking! No way she’d duel this noob!

“Phew…”

“Fine…” Seeing Luo Su ban his main, Gao Ye turned to find a random player…

To unwind, of course.

As for the random’s feelings…

Ahem, such a “hurt 1000, lose 1” move was best used sparingly. Gao Ye’s screen already flashed with a stranger’s furious “head-pat” ultimate.

“…”

Luo Su felt her earlier refusal was pure foresight.

“Phew… nice!”

Gao Ye set his phone aside, sipping milk tea with a “withered tree in spring” bliss. Luo Su tilted her head, unable to find a better description.

“Luo Su~”

“?” Gao Ye looked up, spotting Jiang Ning and her sister, then turned to Luo Su, puzzled. “They’re here for you.”

“…”

Luo Su nodded, teary-eyed. “H-hi.”

“Wanna grab lunch together?” Jiang Ning, unbothered by Gao Ye, went straight for the kill shot.

“!!!”

Gao Ye’s eyes lit up with gossip glee. He knew Luo Su and Jiang Ning had something going! He stepped back, lowering his presence.

His face screamed, “I get it, I get it.”

“N-no need…”

Luo Su paused, pulling out her phone, faking a call. “M-my mom… wants me home for lunch.”

“Huh?” Gao Ye blinked.

Luo Su’s place… was miles away. No way she’d go back for lunch. Oh, he got it—Luo Su was shy! Time for a bro assist.

“No worries…”

Gao Ye proudly patted her shoulder. “I’ll cover with your mom, you guys enjoy.” He winked.

Luo Su: “…”

(Inner scream: Idiot! You don’t get it! My mom’s not even here! You’re sabotaging me!)

“See ya, see ya!”

Gao Ye strutted off, so suave, leaving a despairing Luo Su frozen, wanting to cry but unable.

“Let’s chat?”

Jiang Ning naturally took Gao Ye’s seat, fingers tapping the table. Her smile was sweet but sent chills down Luo Su’s spine. “Of course~ If little Su Xi doesn’t want to…”

“Ugh…”

Luo Su drooped, glancing at Jiang Ning’s knife-hidden smile and Jiang Cha’s predatory gaze. Resigned, she slumped back, tail curling pitifully. “…Fine.”

“So… you’re admitting it?”

Jiang Cha, incredulous, rubbed Luo Su’s head. “Unbelievable…”

“Feels kinda off!”

Luo Su’s face burned. She was in her male form! A guy! Yet teased and threatened by a shorter girl.

Sob sob.

“Lift your wrist a bit…” Jiang Ning said eagerly, like a detective piecing together trivial clues to corner the suspect.

“Hmph…”

Watching the fidgety Luo Su, she said earnestly, “Su Xi… you don’t have to be bullied by that jerk anymore!”

“…?”

Luo Su blinked, head tilting, confused. Not bullied by the jerk… weren’t they the ones bullying her?!

Seeing Luo Su’s clueless look, Jiang Ning’s eyes welled up—poor little succubus, meeting such a jerk right off the bat!

“Don’t worry~”

She gently held Luo Su’s hand, vowing, “If that Luo Su bullies you again, we’ll…”

“Teach him a lesson!”

“???”

Luo Su realized the absurdity—in Jiang Ning’s imagination, she was bullying herself?!

Well…

Guess they perfectly split “Luo Su” and “Su Xi” into two people. But… this wasn’t bad?

At least her cover was safe!

Still… Luo Su thought, she couldn’t let her persona seem too bad. She was a model student!

“Um, actually…”

Luo Su looked down, fingers twisting her hem. “Luo Su’s really nice… never bullied me…”

(By the end,)

(Her voice shrank—praising herself was too embarrassing.)

“Wait—”

Jiang Cha tugged her sister’s sleeve, whispering, “Dummy, Luo Su might be Su Xi’s first human contact… ever heard of imprinting?”

“…”

Jiang Ning drooped, pitying the “little succubus” sipping milk tea, cute and carefree.

“Phew…”

“Why wasn’t I her first?” she muttered, then clenched her fists, perking up. “I’ll… slowly fix her!”

“Mhm.” Jiang Cha nodded. “I’ll help~”

Hehe… a blank-slate succubus! She loved it. But… wait, weren’t Luo Su and Su Xi the same? Then the one gaming with her…

Definitely Su Xi!

Luo Su? Didn’t seem like a good guy!

“…”

Luo Su noticed the sisters’ focus back on her, quickly setting the milk tea aside…

Phew… already finished!

She shrank guiltily, then puffed her chest. Whatever, she drank it all—even if they “teach” her later, no biggie!

It was her money, after all!
