Chapter 7: She’s practically a superhero.
Su Tang’s feelings were complicated now.
Though yesterday when kidnapped by monsters, she vaguely heard her post was pinned and trending by magical girls, she hadn’t expected it to be true.
Magical girls actually read posts from this side!
Thinking of her and like-minded forum friends analyzing and discussing to turn the tide for monsters, only to be dinner-side pickled veggies for magical girls, Su Tang felt even worse.
Damn magical girls!
“But if the OP vanished and stopped updating, how did the post hit ten million views so fast?” Ningliu asked puzzled.
“I just said the influence is growing.”
Mei said seriously, “From rumors I heard, after the evil organization saw the post, they felt deeply humiliated, reflected, and are brewing a new plot.”
“Pfft, those small fries aren’t humiliated for the first day. This time won’t make waves either.” Ningliu waved dismissively.
“So what’s the plot?” Tao Lian asked curiously.
“Hm… Heard the evil doctor in the organization started developing a new potion to turn ordinary people into monsters.”
Mei speculated, “See, the OP loves monsters so much and suddenly disappeared—likely sought the organization, drank the potion, and joined the monster side.”
“They want to bolster forces this way? But it feels pointless; more cannon fodder is still cannon fodder.”
“Oh ho, then next material is the OP themselves? Yay, new content!”
The magical girls treated the evil doctor’s new drug and the organization’s plot as pure entertainment.
Everything Mei said was spot on; Su Tang was sweating bullets.
But for some reason, she felt inexplicably annoyed.
“W-what if they create a powerful monster this way?” Su Tang spoke up.
“Pfft, believing monsters can turn the tables is less likely than me getting a ten-win streak.”
Ningliu waved, “Impossible.”
Wait, ten-win streak is impossible…
And this girl knows she’s bad at games?
Because she has clear self-awareness, getting even one health layer off makes opponents small fries?
Su Tang didn’t know where to start roasting.
She thought Xia Qingli was heavy enough, but there’s a pro!
“Hehe, I hope they create a powerful monster.”
Mei, as usual, eagerly awaited a strong enemy for the adversity she craved in training.
“Ah, little Su Tang is just an ordinary citizen; different mindset is normal.”
Tao Lian recalled something, “Speaking of which, years ago, a senior magical girl always urged us to stay vigilant, not underestimate monsters, live in worry.”
“Then what?” Su Tang asked curiously.
“An outstanding, powerful senior, but the only magical girl to ever lose to a monster, nailed to the pillar of shame.”
Tao Lian said, “Though she contributed much later, no one heeded her calls. She grew paranoid, nearly insane, got shelved by the Association, vanished in recent years.”
Su Tang hadn’t heard this.
She surfed intensely daily, analyzing magical girls, knowing most famous ones.
Yet no impression of this sole defeated magical girl.
“Seems the Association erased all traces of her to keep the perfect record shiny.”
Su Tang thought, “The fish rots from the head; magical girls being hated must tie to the Magical Girl Management Association.”
Then Su Tang asked: “What about the monster that defeated her senior? Eliminated by whom later?”
“Nope.” Tao Lian shook her head, “Heard it vanished after the battle, no trace, very mysterious.”
“Ah, pity.” Su Tang said instinctively.
“Pity?”
“I-I mean, if the monster’s still around, maybe the senior could get revenge, prove herself, restore reputation.”
Su Tang reacted fast, justifying logically, “Huge contributions, yet ends like this—doesn’t it seem pitiful?”
“Little Su Tang… truly a kind child.” Tao Lian sighed.
“If the monster’s still here, I could learn from it. Or if the senior were, ask about adversity.”
Mei sighed, arms crossed, “Indeed a pity.”
“That senior was too weak; her fate’s her own fault.” Ningliu shrugged.
The three magical girls had different views; Su Tang looked to the fourth for another opinion.
Noticing her gaze, Xia Qingli locked eyes instantly: “Mommy.”
Never mind.
“Ah, time’s up; we need to go to school.”
Tao Lian noticed the time, stood, handed the tablet to Su Tang,
“Anyway, until you contact family, little Su Tang stay in our dorm. Use anywhere except personal rooms; my room’s always open to you~”
Mei stood too, handing Ningliu’s controller to Su Tang: “Play games with Ningliu’s controller too.”
“Eh, why?” Ningliu protested.
“Don’t think I don’t know; you snuck console and controller to school three times this week, battled others, got caught, deducted 3 credits.”
Mei loomed darkly over Ningliu, “More deductions, eat dirt this month?”
“Tch, mere student council president, so arrogant…” Ningliu muttered.
“What?”
“Nothing at all?”
Su Tang listened, glancing at Mei.
She’s student council president? No, a magical girl is?
The all-round athlete type, top scores every test, 100% monster win rate?
No wonder craving adversity; she can’t even force hardship…
She’s basically Superman.
