Chapter 21: The Evil Power to Turn People into Girls
Li Chunsheng sat in the living room, feeling extremely irritable.
After all, something had happened to Senpai. Early in the morning, not only had her body shrunk, but she had started degenerating into a goblin right in front of him.
“Damn it! I couldn’t do anything!” Li Chunsheng clenched his fists, full of frustration.
Reason told him that distancing himself from Senpai was the best choice; besides, Senpai herself seemed to think the same.
But seeing Liu Xia’s tears, Li Chunsheng deeply felt he just couldn’t abandon her.
The current Senpai would definitely push away any help; that’s the kind of person she was.
Yet from that day onward, he had decided to stand by her side.
“How could I give up now!”
Bringing home the maid outfit delivery might not help at all, but Li Chunsheng just wanted to tell Senpai: You owe me now. I won’t let you give up on yourself!
As for how Senpai looked in it; beautiful or ugly; it didn’t matter! He just wanted to keep her! Save her!
Though he had indeed been quite looking forward to that scene before…
“C-Chun… Chunsheng…?”
A trembling voice came from nearby.
Li Chunsheng looked up quickly and his breath caught.
First into view were delicate feet wrapped in refined leather shoes, showing perfect contours. Following upward were flawless, slender legs that made one want to gaze at their juiciest, fullest parts. But just before that boundary, a black-and-white layered pleated skirt blocked all improper sights, leaving an unbearable itch.
With that regret, looking higher, a pair of massive snowy peaks compensated for it. Under the fitted top, they asserted an undeniable presence that Li Chunsheng couldn’t look away from.
“H-how… is it?”
The nervous voice suddenly rang out. Li Chunsheng painfully shifted his gaze to the side and saw Liu Xia’s small face slightly red, eyes downcast, too shy to meet his; the very picture of a bashful maiden.
“Gulp!”
In an instant, it felt like an arrow of light pierced Li Chunsheng’s heart.
He froze, unable to say a word.
Liu Xia watched his reaction and grew nervous.
It’s ugly, right? Definitely ugly.
All the confidence from her earlier guesses and the mirror vanished the moment she saw Li Chunsheng’s response.
She grew insecure, thinking her sense of beauty might be off; she wasn’t that pretty after all. Her male self had been plain; how good could the female version be?
“I-is… it not good?” Liu Xia’s voice cracked with a sob. She felt like an ugly freak wearing a maid outfit; utterly shameless.
Even though Li Chunsheng was the one who made her wear it.
Her pitiful, wronged voice snapped Li Chunsheng out of his daze.
He immediately gave a thumbs-up and exclaimed like he’d discovered a new continent.
“It looks amazing, Senpai! This outfit suits you perfectly…!”
“Seriously, I was stunned!”
“If Senpai were really a girl, I definitely wouldn’t hold back from pursuing you!”
Li Chunsheng’s endless praise calmed Liu Xia’s anxious heart considerably.
It also gave her more confidence in her earlier guesses.
Just then, Li Chunsheng noticed the key point. “Huh? Senpai, your ears seem to have shrunk back?”
“Your body returned to how it was before. So mysterious…”
“Uh, what’s going on? Whatever, it’s a good thing.”
Li Chunsheng scratched his head and decided not to dwell on it.
Meanwhile, Liu Xia, with the information she knew, arrived at a possible answer.
After all, as a former university student and holy knight reserve, she knew more secrets than Li Chunsheng.
“Chunsheng… he’s actually a wild knight…”
Wild knights were people who illegally awakened authorities.
Their powers weren’t in the Holy Church system and lacked systematic training; types varied wildly, strengths had huge ranges.
Besides goblins, wild knights were seen as societal destabilizers, targets for holy knights to eliminate.
But wild knights usually had only one authority with limited means; most weren’t matches for fully equipped holy knights.
Liu Xia hadn’t become a holy knight yet, so she didn’t have access to more details.
“But based on current info and knowledge, Chunsheng’s authority seems to be turning someone who drank his blood into a girl that matches his preferences?”
“Really… a strange authority.” Liu Xia’s feelings were complicated; in her mind she changed “lewd” to “strange.”
As a close senior, the girl naturally knew what kind of girls her junior liked.
Her current appearance must have hit right in his strike zone, right?
But thanks to Li Chunsheng’s authority, she had escaped the pursuers’ hunt.
And temporarily avoided fully degenerating into a goblin.
“From the current info, the activation conditions seem bidirectional. After feeding blood, one: the authority user must wish for the change; Chunsheng probably wished [I hope Senpai doesn’t become a goblin].”
“Two: the transformed person needs a wish to change too; mine was not wanting to become a goblin, which triggered it. If that wish weakens, the transformation state is affected.”
“Conversely, if I want to change, even wish to better match Chunsheng’s preferences, the authority’s effect strengthens; that’s probably why I recovered.”
“Also, if I have thoughts of leaving my junior, the authority’s influence seems to weaken, trending toward reverting; that might be why I shrank at first. After all, my goblin form was the small type…”
“But Chunsheng doesn’t seem to know he has this authority… To help hide it, better not let him find out.”
If he knew he was also the type targeted by holy knights, it might make him hide things and create openings.
He might even get cocky and cause trouble; if holy knights got involved, it would be bad.
Thinking this, Liu Xia suddenly blushed. “Th-then… to not cause trouble for Chunsheng, following this logic, I have to sincerely want to become the girl of his dreams. That way his authority works better, and I’m less likely to get exposed…”
“If that wish reaches a certain threshold, could I become a real girl?”
“But… I’m a man…”
“Though, Chunsheng bought me a maid outfit… does that mean his ideal girl is a maid?”
The girl began imagining herself serving her junior as a maid, feeling somewhat ashamed.
While Liu Xia blushed and lost herself in wild thoughts, Li Chunsheng, who had been praising nonstop, saw her like this and thought Senpai was probably embarrassed by his compliments.
So he stopped and tentatively greeted, “Senpai?”
“Ah? What is it? Master?” Still lost in imagination, Liu Xia was suddenly called and instinctively responded with “Master” from her fantasy.
The atmosphere froze. Li Chunsheng’s face instantly turned red; two streams of noseblood flowed uncontrollably.
“Pfft…!” The girl couldn’t help laughing. Li Chunsheng realized his gaffe, wiped the blood in embarrassment, and yelled, “Ah! Right, it’s getting late; I’m off to work!”
He fled the scene like he was escaping.
“W-wait…! You haven’t eaten breakfast yet…!”
Peak black-iron Li Chunsheng ran fast; he vanished in a flash. Liu Xia, who had just been amused, forgot her worries for a moment and muttered helplessly.
“He… saved me again…”
The last time was when Chunsheng was little; he probably doesn’t even remember, right?
I’m the senior, yet I’m always the one being saved by my junior.
I owe him more and more.
“How should I repay him?” Liu Xia zoned out thinking.
