Chapter 2: The Slacking Plan Fails Miserably

The National Magical Girl Academy was jointly established over a hundred years ago by the Ministry of Education and the Magical Girl Department.

As one of the nation’s key “Project 911” and “Project 285” universities, it had spent an entire century cultivating countless high-quality talents for the country.

Nowadays, nearly every famous magical girl had some sort of connection to this academy.

Thus, the National Magical Girl Academy could be considered the absolute cornerstone of Great Yan’s resistance against foreign races…

But no one could have imagined that one day, a vampire would successfully enter this place and even become the vice principal’s personal disciple.

Bai Qiqi looked at the vice principal hugging her while the students below all turned their gazes toward her.

Everyone was whispering among themselves.

Though they were whispering, Bai Qiqi’s superior vampire hearing allowed her to hear everything clearly from the stage.

“SSS rank… unbelievable. A talent level like this actually exists? I heard even the Student Council President is only SS rank.”

“This is my first time seeing a legendary SSS-grade aptitude.”

“I thought having one S-rank student was already shocking enough.”

“Who knew we’d get an SSS today?!”

“Huh? Are you all only paying attention to her talent?”

“Am I the only one focused on her appearance?”

“A white-haired, red-eyed loli! I’m in love!”

“I really want her to step on me with those little feet wrapped in white stockings…”

Wait a second.

Did something weird just get mixed into the conversation?

At this point, the topic had completely derailed.

The focus shifted entirely from her absurd talent to her appearance.

That made Bai Qiqi sigh in relief…

Yeah right!

Wasn’t that even more dangerous?!

If you found out your school had a provincial top scorer, at most you’d marvel a little and think:

‘This person’s intelligence may actually rival mine.’

But if you discovered your school had an insanely cute white-haired loli…

Holy crap, brother.

What else was there to say?

You’d definitely go check her out!

She could already foresee countless girls coming to bother her in the future…

Although she used to be a boy, her looks had never been inferior to those of her sisters.

In fact, she was even prettier.

Back in vampire society, noble ladies constantly confessed to her…

Of course, she rejected every single one.

Dating?

Why would she date?!

Was dating more enjoyable than slacking off?

Ever since becoming a girl, her beauty had risen to an even more ridiculous level.

Even she herself occasionally felt strange when looking in the mirror…

And she had heard that among magical girls, nearly half of them handled relationships internally…

What if girls started confessing to her every few days in the future?

Who knew what would happen if she accidentally exposed herself…

Bai Qiqi once read a novel written by a vampire author.

Naturally, there were definitely exaggerated portrayals and some slander against magical girls…

But based on what she had just heard from the crowd, Bai Qiqi felt that at least part of the novel wasn’t wrong.

Magical girls were often extremely repressed.

If her identity were exposed, she’d probably end up chained to a bed year-round without breaks.

At that point, even becoming dried bat jerky would become a luxury.

And vampires generally lived very long lives…

Maybe she’d even get “passed down” through generations?

Absolutely not!

Bai Qiqi rubbed her head and forcefully suppressed those chaotic thoughts.

No matter what happened, she absolutely could not expose her identity.

Otherwise, it’d be a complete tragedy…

“Little one, your talent is extremely high.”

“If you follow the traditional teaching methods of the Four Great Academies, your potential won’t be fully developed at all.”

Ye Lange leaned close to Bai Qiqi’s ear and whispered softly.

“So I’ve decided to personally teach you by my side.”

Eh?!

Personally teach?!

Didn’t that mean she’d have to stay around Ye Lange every day?!

Being around a half-step Sunwheel-class powerhouse all the time would make exposure incredibly easy!

She was only Candlelight-class herself.

(From weakest to strongest: Firefly-class, Candlelight-class, Torchfire-class, Starfire-class, Moonglow-class, Sunwheel-class, Rainbow Radiance-class.)

One careless mistake and she’d be completely exposed.

At that point, after being emotionally deceived by her, Ye Lange would probably chop her into pieces on the spot.

She definitely didn’t want to become companions with that foul-mouthed dragon skeleton outside.

“Um… Principal…”

“Wouldn’t that be a little inappropriate…”

“I think it’d be better if I attended classes together with the other students…”

Bai Qiqi spoke quietly.

If she had to stay around Ye Lange all the time, how was she supposed to slack off?

She could clearly tell which option was easier to laze around in between large lectures and one-on-one tutoring.

“Ah, don’t worry about that.”

“You’ll still attend normal classes with the other students most of the time.”

“You’ll only need to come to me on weekends.”

“It won’t interfere with your regular lessons.”

Ye Lange reached out and gently patted Bai Qiqi’s head.

The smooth, silky feeling made her linger a little longer than intended.

“However~ even with my personal guidance, your grades in other subjects can’t be too low.”

“Let’s say… top five.”

“How about requiring you to rank in the top five for every subject?”

How about it?

It sounded absolutely terrible!

Top five?!

Was that something easy to achieve?!

More importantly, why did the extra tutoring have to happen on weekends?!

Wasn’t that stealing her precious resting time?!

Bai Qiqi’s mouth twitched slightly as she weakly raised her hand.

“Principal…”

“Don’t you think the requirements are a little too high?”

“How about lowering them just a tinyyyy bit?”

As she spoke, Bai Qiqi performed a tiny finger gesture to indicate “just a little.”

“Nope~”

The blue-haired devil smiled while saying the cruelest words imaginable.

“If you can’t even meet this level of expectation, then I’ll have no choice but to let Qiqi move in with me in the future.”

“After all, I hate seeing geniuses waste their talents.”

“Or could it be that Qiqi actually looks forward to living together with Teacher?”

“I don’t!”

“I’m not!”

“I’ll do my best…”

Between two evils, Bai Qiqi could only choose the lesser one after carefully weighing the consequences.

“Mmhm, that’s more like it.”

“But Qiqi doesn’t need to worry either.”

“There are plenty of benefits to following me.”

“Scholarships and things like that definitely won’t be lacking.”

“Alright, the entrance ceremony is basically over now.”

“Other teachers will handle your enrollment procedures afterward.”

“Official classes should begin the day after tomorrow.”

“Come to my office tomorrow morning.”

“Don’t be late.”

After speaking, Ye Lange stuffed a card into Bai Qiqi’s hands.

Then she casually addressed the students below for a bit before leaving.

As her fingertips traced the texture on the card, bitterness welled up inside Bai Qiqi’s heart…

She only wanted to slack off.

She only wanted to muddle through peacefully.

So why had the vice principal fixated on her?!

And what the hell was wrong with that stupid holy sword?!

She was obviously just a vampire, yet somehow it had labeled her some kind of “Great Love Immortal Venerable.”

Couldn’t it have just pretended not to see anything and let her get expelled?

Wouldn’t that have been better for everyone?

Thinking of this, Bai Qiqi resentfully glared at the holy sword standing nearby.

The holy sword trembled lightly after being glared at.

Why was this little vampire looking at me like that?

Didn’t she want equality among all races and world peace?

Oh~

I understand now.

She must’ve realized I secretly helped her and got embarrassed.

What a tsundere~

If Bai Qiqi knew what the holy sword was thinking right now, she’d probably want to die on the spot…

Tsundere, your ass!

You’re the damn tsundere!

“Hey, trash.”

“You must be feeling pretty happy right now, huh?”

A voice that sounded far from friendly suddenly rang out…
