Chapter 6: Choosing a Dorm Room
“Oh right, Senior Sister.”
“When will I be able to learn flying magic?”
Bai Qiqi asked curiously.
As a very standard shut-in guy—now shut-in girl—making Bai Qiqi leave the house was about as difficult as killing her.
Back in the Other Side, Bai Qiqi firmly followed one principle—
If she could fly, she would never walk.
If she could lie down, she would never sit.
Who cared about catastrophic disasters?
Slacking off was what mattered most.
Mooching around was what mattered most.
After all, Mother only gave her three thousand allowance every month…
Three thousand.
Why work so hard for that?!
“If I remember correctly, flying magic belongs to practical courses.”
“You normally won’t learn it until the second semester of your freshman year.”
“And even after learning flying magic, you still can’t fly around recklessly everywhere.”
“At least not outside the academy.”
“You’ll still need to obtain a flying license, kind of like a driver’s license.”
“Like this one.”
After speaking, Mo Xingmian took out a black booklet from her clothes.
Several large words were clearly written on it—
Great Yan Flight Qualification License.
“So even after learning it, you’ll still need some time to take the licensing exam.”
“However, inside the academy, we’re allowed to fly directly as long as nothing goes wrong…”
After hearing Mo Xingmian’s explanation, Bai Qiqi’s eyes lit up.
Since flying was allowed, didn’t that mean she wouldn’t need to walk anymore in the future?
That would make things way more convenient…
Of course, she wasn’t dumb enough to suddenly reveal her little wings and start flying right now.
As a vampire, her wings were far too recognizable.
At the very least, she’d need to learn a similar flying spell first.
For now though…
She could only obediently ride the bus…
Fortunately, there weren’t many people on the bus.
And they were all pretty girls and big sisters.
Whether she knew them or not, calling them “big sister” was always the correct answer.
After all, very few people could resist the sweet voice of an adorable loli.
As the very first house in the dormitory district, Bai Qiqi naturally enjoyed some benefits.
The bus directly stopped near her residence.
As for the other students, they still needed to walk some distance.
Some of the farther dorms even required several hundred meters of walking.
“So this is my dorm?”
Bai Qiqi hugged several large bags of snacks in her arms.
These had all been given to her by the senior sisters on the bus.
Sweet-talking children always got candy.
These were the seniors’ love!
Suddenly, Bai Qiqi felt that this place wasn’t too bad after all.
At least the senior sisters were pretty nice!
As long as her identity didn’t get exposed…
“This is the place!”
“Speaking of which, your dorms are all four-person villas.”
“Unlike ours, which are six-person ones.”
Looking at the villa that wasn’t much different from the one she lived in, Mo Xingmian couldn’t help sighing emotionally.
Even though she got along well with her roommates, having six people share a single living room still felt a little cramped.
“Oh right!”
As if suddenly remembering something, Mo Xingmian grabbed Bai Qiqi’s hand and whispered quietly:
“When you start living together with other girls, you absolutely must control yourself, okay~”
Naturally, Bai Qiqi knew exactly what Mo Xingmian was referring to.
Her face instantly flushed red.
“Senior Sister!”
“How could you say something like that?!”
“I would never…”
“Mhm mhm, I believe you.”
“I believe you definitely won’t hug other girls while sleeping.”
Mo Xingmian teased her openly, clearly referring to what Bai Qiqi had said earlier.
That immediately made Bai Qiqi puff up her cheeks in annoyance.
She originally thought this was some cold and aloof senior sister.
Who knew the contrast would be this huge?!
“Hurry and go inside.”
“Just place your student card on this sensor.”
Following Mo Xingmian’s instructions, Bai Qiqi placed her student card onto the sensor area.
With a click, the door opened.
The entrance foyer came into view first.
At the moment, there was already one pair of shoes and three pairs of slippers placed there.
Clearly, some roommates had already arrived earlier.
“Hm?”
“Someone actually got here before us?”
Bai Qiqi looked surprised.
She clearly remembered being the first person to leave the hall.
“That’s normal.”
“Lili’s always pretty slow at handling things.”
“Just the time she spent processing your enrollment was enough for several other students to finish theirs.”
Mo Xingmian sighed helplessly.
Thankfully, the current Student Council President was her while Tian Lili was only the vice president.
If Tian Lili had been the president, then with her tendency to completely stop functioning whenever she saw a cute loli, who knew how terrible the council’s efficiency would become.
“Uh…”
“But I thought Senior Sister Tian Lili’s service was really thoughtful…”
“She even personally helped put my badge on.”
As she spoke, Bai Qiqi showed off the emblem pinned to her chest.
That’s only because it was you…
Mo Xingmian silently complained in her heart while leading Bai Qiqi around to introduce the rooms.
The villa had a total of three floors.
There were two rooms on the second floor and two rooms on the third floor.
All of them had balconies.
Clearly, the rooms had been designed with students’ needs fully taken into consideration…
The first floor contained a shared living room, kitchen, and several functional rooms.
As for bathrooms, there was one on the first floor, which was more than enough for their needs.
“Oh right, I almost forgot to mention this.”
“All the furniture here requires magical power to operate.”
“This is also considered part of the academy’s training.”
“After all, some students inevitably start slacking off the moment they enter the dorm.”
“This method can at least force them to train indirectly.”
“At the very least, they won’t leave the academy exactly the same as when they entered.”
Bai Qiqi nodded.
Internally, she actually agreed with this arrangement.
Even she, a fake magical girl undercover agent, had to work hard.
Why should those genuine magical girls be allowed to slack off and live comfortably?
After introducing the villa, Mo Xingmian led Bai Qiqi upstairs to the second floor.
One bedroom door was tightly shut.
Rustling sounds could be heard coming from inside, indicating that one of the roommates was probably unpacking.
“Choose your room first.”
“Second floor or third floor.”
“Do you have any preference?”
“Normally, the top floor has better lighting and ventilation.”
“But the second floor also has its own advantages.”
“Both have pros and cons.”
Worried that her little junior sister might struggle to choose, Mo Xingmian thoughtfully explained things to her.
“I… anything’s fine, I guess?”
“I don’t really have any requirements.”
“How about this one!”
As she spoke, Bai Qiqi pushed open the other room’s door.
As a vampire, although she was royalty and wouldn’t be burned by sunlight, that didn’t mean she liked being exposed to it.
It was kind of like eggplants.
Sure, they wouldn’t kill you…
But if possible, you still shouldn’t eat them…
Because they genuinely tasted awful…
So for her, the second floor was naturally the best choice.
“Alright then.”
“We’ll pick this room.”
After helping Bai Qiqi choose a room, Mo Xingmian finally realized something.
Bai Qiqi hadn’t brought any luggage at all.
No wonder she kept feeling like something was missing during the trip over…
“Qiqi.”
“You didn’t bring any luggage?”
“Uh… nope!”
Wait.
People were supposed to bring luggage?!
You had to understand, vampire schools were fully move-in ready.
Students only needed to arrive with themselves.
The school naturally prepared the most comfortable coffins for everyone…
The human world really was so different!
And that damn Lilith too…
She was capable enough to smuggle Bai Qiqi into the academy, so why couldn’t she help prepare her belongings too?!
Though after thinking about it carefully…
Even vampires could infiltrate this place.
Maybe the academy’s security wasn’t much better than her family’s anyway…
“If that’s the case…”
“Then we’ll have no choice but to go shopping on First Street…”
