Chapter 1: A New Storm Has Arrived

Within the Papal State stood the resplendent Hall of Venus, dazzling with gold and jade.

The magical crystal chandeliers suspended from the dome cast down soft, radiant light, while the air overflowed with the fragrance of expensive spices and rich fruit wine.

Yet amidst this royal tea party attended by the children of countless nobles and elites, an absurd farce was unfolding in the center of the grand hall.

“Laura, I love you! Please accept my feelings!”

Lorin Mozart, dressed in an impeccably tailored noble outfit, held a bouquet of vivid red roses in both hands, his eyes burning with fervor while his posture remained pitifully humble.

The woman standing before him wore an extravagantly expensive dress overloaded with lace, while the makeup on her face was so heavy it resembled a painter’s palette.

Among the elegant noble ladies surrounding her, she radiated an unmistakably vulgar air despite all her efforts to appear refined.

Laura Katherine.

The illegitimate daughter of a count.

The surrounding nobles whispered among themselves, their eyes brimming with undisguised contempt.

“A dignified duke’s son acting like a simp for some illegitimate daughter.”

“Well, what else can a ‘Null-Magic’ who can’t even sense mana do besides clown around in a circus?”

“The Mozart family truly has fallen into disgrace…”

Hearing the surrounding ridicule, Laura not only failed to feel embarrassed, but a twisted thrill instead flashed through her eyes.

She thoroughly enjoyed being the center of attention—especially the pleasure of trampling someone born with higher status than herself.

“Young Master Lorin, please show some self-respect.”

Laura waved her hand disdainfully, knocking the expensive bouquet of roses to the ground with a sharp smack.

The delicate petals scattered across the floor.

She then affectionately wrapped her arm around the second son of Count Saar beside her and mocked Lorin from above.

“The one I like is someone talented like Young Master Saar.”

“A useless, magicless playboy like you, who has nothing besides family status, could never deserve me.”

After speaking, she mercilessly picked up a glass of chilled red wine from a servant’s tray and splashed it directly onto Lorin’s face.

The cold crimson liquid streamed down Lorin’s admittedly handsome face before dripping onto his expensive formalwear, leaving him utterly humiliated.

True, the young man possessed excellent looks and had once even been considered gifted.

But on the continent of Serra, a “Null-Magic” incapable of awakening any bloodline power was destined to stand at the very bottom of society.

In this world where strength ruled above all else, even the son of a duke was nothing more than trash worthy of ridicule.

“Laura, listen to me explain…”

Covered in wine, Lorin staggered forward in despair, still trying to grab Laura’s hand.

“Get lost!”

Saar stepped forward and viciously punched Lorin across the face, knocking him onto the ground.

“Did you hear her, you useless waste?”

Saar sneered down at him.

“You actually ruined Laura’s mood during her first royal gathering! You’d better compensate her properly. Let’s take that cinnabar mine your Mozart family owns in the south!”

After being punched heavily to the ground, Lorin’s mind buzzed violently.

“Where… am I?”

“Wasn’t I just leaving campus before getting flattened by Truck-kun?!”

In the next second, an overwhelming flood of memories crashed into his mind like a landslide gone berserk.

Lorin’s pupils contracted violently.

WOC!

Not only had he transmigrated into this super-ultra-hopeless simp named Lorin who shared his exact name, but judging by the “script” of this world surfacing in his memories, he was basically a beyond-saving villainous cannon fodder character!

Instead of making use of the top-tier resources available to him as the son of a duke, he willingly acted as a stepping stone for a scheming green-tea illegitimate daughter.¹

In the future, he would squander his family’s foundations while constantly provoking the fated heroines of destiny.

Even the childhood sweetheart who had silently protected him all these years would be repeatedly hurt by him.

And in the end, after that childhood sweetheart finally gave up protecting him in utter disappointment amidst a snowstorm, he would be pierced through the heart by the chosen heroine Lucia, collapsing into the freezing snow while watching Lucia embrace his childhood friend.

The heavens had played an unbelievably cruel joke on him.

He had only just received his reincarnation experience package, yet the script he inherited was one universally hated and guaranteed to end in death.

“AAAAAHHHH, NOOO! I just transmigrated! I don’t wanna die already!”

Just as Lorin screamed internally and prepared to scramble up and run for his life—

“What exactly is everyone discussing so enthusiastically?”

A cold, crystalline voice suddenly rang out from the entrance of the hall, as clear as jade striking ice.

“Or perhaps the tea party hosted by this princess is insufficient to inspire proper manners?”

Lorin instinctively looked up, his pupils shrinking sharply.

A breathtakingly beautiful figure appeared within his field of vision like fireworks suddenly blooming in the night.

What kind of face was this?

The young girl possessed an extraordinarily rare cherry-pink long hair that flowed to her waist like the finest silk.

She wore a moon-white fitted robe with crossed collars, while a silver belt perfectly accentuated her slender waist.

Below the hem stretched a pair of shapely long legs wrapped tightly in creamy-white lace-trimmed stockings.

The ultra-thin fabric pressed lightly into the tops of her thighs, creating an irresistibly alluring indentation, while the pure-and-seductive tension contrasted sharply against her cold and peerlessly beautiful oval face.

Alice Akxia.

The sole heir of the Papal State.

The perfect fated heroine.

And also the childhood friend who, according to his memories, had repeatedly tried to help Lorin.

The girl’s overwhelming beauty and naturally imposing aura instantly silenced the hall, forcibly dragging the chaotic tea party back into order.

She slowly walked to Lorin’s side, and within her clear pale sakura-colored eyes flickered a trace of hidden heartache.

Then she extended a delicate hand clad in white lace gloves and gently helped Lorin up from the ground.

Seeing this scene, Laura nearly dug her nails into her own flesh from jealousy.

‘She only got lucky with her birth!’

‘So what if you’re high and mighty, Princess Alice?’

‘The childhood sweetheart you care about so much still wags his tail like a dog for me!’

Even the surrounding nobles secretly shook their heads.

This Lorin truly was hopeless garbage.

Every single time, he needed the princess to step in and clean up his mess.

Meanwhile, Lorin—an innocent modern-day college student who had lived two lives—stared blankly at Alice standing so close to him, carrying a faint lavender fragrance.

“By Serra above… did the original owner have some kind of brain disease or ugly fetish?!”

“There’s literally a fairy-like perfect childhood sweetheart right beside him—great family background, incredible figure, protective, tsundere—and yet the original owner somehow went blind enough to fall for a scheming woman like Laura with makeup caked all over her face?!”

“Alice…”

Lorin subconsciously muttered her name.

Alice, who had just been coldly reprimanding Saar and Laura with elegant noble etiquette, suddenly stiffened slightly.

Her brows furrowed faintly, and irritation flashed through her pale pink eyes, the kind born from disappointment toward someone who failed to live up to expectations.

She assumed her childhood friend was about to recklessly jump out once again to defend that green-tea woman like he always had before.

Seeing this, Saar immediately straightened up and shamelessly twisted the story first.

“Princess, you can’t blame us!”

“It was Lorin, this useless playboy, who kept harassing Laura first! He even dared disrupt your tea party—he’s completely distorting right and wrong!”

Laura also smugly lifted her chin and shot Lorin a disdainful look.

“Don’t think the princess protecting you changes anything. Trash will always be trash.”

Just as everyone expected Lorin to once again put on some pathetic act to curry favor with Laura, he suddenly stepped forward, pulled Alice behind him protectively, and shouted at the top of his lungs—

“Forget all that nonsense for now! Alice, hurry and arrest them! These two are traitors to the nation!”
