Chapter 1: Binding the One-Baby-Eight-Treasure System

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for binding to the One Pregnancy, Eight Treasures System. Please immediately begin capturing the male lead to expand his family lineage!]

A strange mechanical voice echoed in his mind.
Chen Xing slowly regained consciousness.
He remembered working on a PPT for his boss’s meeting tomorrow before suddenly dying at his computer.
He tried to make sense of his surroundings.
His visual neural bundle activated, and the scenery around him projected into his consciousness, forming a fully transparent virtual command cabin.
Countless rocks and ice chunks floated around a gray-blue gaseous planet, creating a spectacular and beautiful planetary ring.
Behind him, a massive incubation hive loomed like a lotus pod, covered in dense incubation sacs.
His body had just been expelled from one of those sacs.

Oh, wow, the starry cosmos!
Every boy’s dream!

[Ding! Plot setup complete. Please select your capture target! ① Overbearing CEO Gu Minghan, ② Gentle Big Brother Ye Junxi, ③ Cold and Fierce Young Wolf Xiao Pengwei, ④ Yandere Doctor Si Liangchen.]

Chen Xing, utterly bewildered, glanced at the enormous incubation hive behind him and then at the glowing orb floating in front of him.
For a moment, he couldn’t wrap his head around it.
As a web novel enthusiast, he accepted his transmigration quite well.
But this was clearly outer space—why on earth had a straight-as-steel guy like him been bound to a female-oriented system?

[Wait! Why can’t I detect the male lead’s presence? What the heck is this place? Wasn’t I assigned to the novel world of The Overbearing CEO Falls for the Fertile Me Who’s Like a Breeding Sow?]

The glowing orb suddenly started zipping around in his consciousness space.
Chen Xing let out a small yelp as it nearly crashed into his head, but he was powerless to stop the system’s frantic darting.
It was like a ping-pong ball, bouncing back and forth in zero gravity, impossible to catch.
Soon, the system went through a rollercoaster of emotions—shock, confusion, and finally despair—before sulking motionlessly in a corner.

[Main System, help! Where am I? I want to go back to the system space, waaaah~]

As a standard feature for transmigrators, systems appeared in many web novels, often mocked as “the puppet master pulling the strings of the protagonist.”
But this female-oriented system, thrown into a hardcore sci-fi world, was instantly emo.

Chen Xing wanted to comfort the system but didn’t know how to start.
Then he noticed his chubby little hands and fell into deep thought.

“Mirror.”

A full-length mirror appeared out of thin air, as if by magic.
Chen Xing stared at the white-haired loli with blue eyes floating in the mirror and sank deeper into thought.
What the heck!
How had he, a straight-as-steel guy who worked tirelessly for his boss’s Mercedes, turned into a silver-haired, blue-eyed loli?
This was a mistake, absolutely a mistake!

Wait… she was now a bio-ship, technically a vessel.
And traditionally, ships were referred to as “she”!

Aaaargh! I’ve become a ship girl!
A monster girl ship girl, no less! Waaaah~

As Chen Xing descended into chaos, she suddenly sensed something.
She hurriedly looked up toward the endless starry sky.
Flashes of light appeared above the distant planetary ring.
She tried to focus on those lights, her vision rapidly zooming in, and then she witnessed a shocking scene!

In the starry expanse, a battle fleet centered around a battleship, with over twenty starships, was rapidly approaching.
The warships, regardless of size, were adorned with grand, gothic cathedral-like bridges.
Their weapon decks were equipped with massive macro-cannons or fighter hangars, and towering lance turrets, as large as mountains, slowly turned their enormous barrels toward the incubation hive.

“Enemies approaching. Annihilate, devour, destroy!”

A sharp pain stabbed through Chen Xing’s head.
An emotionless command echoed in her mind.
Her instincts urged her to obey, but after a moment of mental haze, she regained clarity.
Bio-ships guarding the incubation hive emerged from the shadows.
These warships resembled massive deep-sea monsters, with giant claws or tentacles sprouting from their hulls.
Their tails had long psionic tendrils swaying back and forth, generating psionic waves for propulsion, while psionic anti-gravity fields provided precise attitude control.
A large bio-ship passed by Chen Xing.
Its bow featured a gaping maw, and its sides were lined with bio-plasma cannons.
Chen Xing immediately felt that if she joined the fight, she’d only be cannon fodder.

Before she could decide her next move, the battle began!

The brilliance of nova cannon explosions engulfed the smaller bio-ships charging at the front.
Their chitinous shells shattered, bones and muscle tissue scattered into space, and their blood froze into ice, floating freely above the planetary ring.
A barrage of torpedoes followed, screeching through the void.
A large bio-ship was hit repeatedly, its massive body disintegrating under the scorching plasma.

“Tyrenid hive detected. All ships, commence attack! For the Emperor!”

A human-like language crackled through the radio.
Chen Xing’s pupils dilated in shock.
This was bad, really bad.
She seemed to have transmigrated into a supremely terrible universe!
Yes, this was likely the Warhmmer 40K universe, the one place every transmigrator dreaded!
And she wasn’t even human!

Seeing the bio-ships suffer heavy losses, Chen Xing made a critical decision: flee!

With a thought, she struggled to move the tendrils at the tail of her ship-body, managing to generate a modest amount of thrust!
While the fleets clashed in the distance, with no one paying attention to the incubation hive, Chen Xing tried to maneuver her newly born ship-body into the shadow of the planetary ring.
Then she saw a swarm of bombers, escorted by hundreds of interceptors, charging from the direction of the ring.

“All bomber squadrons, execute Fire Plan 9! For the Emperor! For Holy Terra!”

The voice of the flight commander came through the radio channel.
Chen Xing was grateful for the bio-antenna that allowed her to pick up various signals.
She urged her ship-body to accelerate.
Another bio-ship hatchling nearby launched a defiant counterattack, firing something resembling parasitic organisms at a bomber.
The parasites exploded into clouds of corrosive yellow-green liquid upon nearing their target, scattering the bomber formation.
One bomber, heavily damaged, spiraled and crashed into an ice chunk, exploding in a fiery blast.

Seeing the battle about to engulf her, Chen Xing could only speed up her escape.
She first hid beneath a massive ice chunk, using its shadow to conceal herself.
Two bombers flew by nearby but didn’t notice her.
Chen Xing finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She wiggled her psionic tendrils again, moving toward a large gray rock nearby, successfully dodging another wave of bombers.

By now, the incubation hive behind her had been torn to pieces.
Its shattered bio-tissue froze solid in the low temperatures, and various liquids turned into icy clumps, scattering everywhere.
The Imperium’s pilots, having completed their attack, began to retreat.
As a massive shadow loomed over the hive, the fleet finally entered bombardment range.

Next came the barrage: macro-cannons fired massive shells, plasma turrets unleashed scorching plasma, and lances shot searing laser beams.
The incubation hive was utterly obliterated under the bombardment.
The surviving bio-ships faced a second wave of bombers and were quickly annihilated.

Watching the destruction unfold nearby, Chen Xing pressed her ship-body tightly against a massive ice chunk, terrified of being spotted by passing bombers.
She was just a bio-ship hatchling, barely 50 meters long—enemy torpedoes were bigger than her.
Inside the virtual command cabin, the silver-haired, blue-eyed loli and the system orb held their breath, not daring to make a sound, until the Imperium’s fleet finally departed.

“Phew, I survived.”

[Waaah, I thought we were done for! Scared this system to death.]

“System bro,” Chen Xing rubbed her little hands, “what functions do you have? Spill it. We’re in the same boat now—mutual help is key.”

[This system is just a female-oriented capture system, waaah.]

“Fine,” Chen Xing shrugged, then a spark of inspiration hit her. “What’s this ‘One Pregnancy, Eight Treasures’ thing about?”

[It’s designed for female-oriented novels. It guarantees the host 100% pregnancy, with eight children per birth.]

Chen Xing rolled her eyes.
Eight kids in one go? Even a production team’s
* couldn’t match that!
As a straight-as-steel guy with healthy, normal preferences, she couldn’t fathom the tropes of female-oriented novels.
A system that forced the female lead to bear children for the male lead was just absurd.
If she hadn’t transmigrated into this war-torn 40K universe but into some overbearing CEO forced-love novel, the thought of a straight guy like her giving birth to a litter for another man made her want to die.

Sigh, some authors really deserved a reckoning!

[What do we do now? I’m a system, but I’m bound to you. If you die, I die.]

“Let me think,” Chen Xing focused her consciousness. “Right now, I’m a Tyrenid bio-ship hatchling. Shouldn’t I find the main fleet?”

With a thought, a blue panel appeared in her consciousness space, displaying all the information about her ship-body.

Class: Hive Ship
Status: Hatchling
Traits: Warp Shadow, Psionic Command Node, Incubation Hive, Resource Siphon Tower, Bio-Factory.

Reading her panel, Chen Xing fell into thought again.
Alright, at least she was a pretty badass hive ship.
Fully grown, these things could reach 200 kilometers long and command entire bio-fleets with ease.
But right now, she was just a small fry—even an Imperium torpedo could skewer her.

Wait… Incubation Hive?

Chen Xing narrowed her eyes, studying this biological structure closely.
She discovered she could actually produce small Tyrenid organisms called “worker drones.”
Unlike ripper swarms that scavenged surface biomass, worker drones were small spacecraft, each about three meters long, capable of space-based resource collection.

Then she immediately thought of the “One Pregnancy, Eight Treasures” system.

“System bro,” Chen Xing asked tentatively, “can your One Pregnancy, Eight Treasures system be used on my incubation hive?”

[Incubation hive? What’s that?]

The system was dumbfounded, then let out a strange electric hum.
Chen Xing felt a tremendous cosmic force descend upon her.
She glanced at the incubation hive’s control panel and was shocked to see that it had upgraded from producing one worker drone at a time to eight.

Holy cow! This system was indeed a transmigrator’s golden finger—terrifyingly powerful!

But before Chen Xing could celebrate, she felt a gnawing hunger!
She quickly realized what she needed: biomass!
Without biomass, she couldn’t survive in this cold universe.

Unfortunately, she had no way to replenish biomass now.
The incubation hive had been destroyed, and the nurturing facilities meant to sustain juvenile bio-ships were gone.
She’d have to fend for herself.

If she didn’t want to starve, she’d have to find her own food.

This was just too awful.

Juancarlos Parejaosorio

since the protagonist has a female avatar and the ability to produce troops eight times faster than other tyranny fleets, her name should be the Scylla Swarm fleet.
