Chapter 1: Giving birth right after rebirth

My lower body hurts.

It hurts so much, unbearably so—pain so intense I can’t find words to describe the agony in my abdomen and below.

Yet, it was this very pain that jolted me awake from unconsciousness.

“…Ugh…”

A slight movement of my body sent a searing, tearing pain through my lower half—I gasped, not daring to move too much.

But the churning, overwhelming pain in my abdomen kept coming.

My stomach… swollen… bloated… something… inside me… and now… am I… trying to give birth to it?

“???”

In an instant, my brain, sharpened by the relentless pain, short-circuited.

What… what the hell is happening…

I thought dazedly, turning my head slightly to look around, only to find myself in a deep bathtub.

“Guh…”

The pain forced a weak moan from me, my body drenched in cold sweat—I wanted to scream for help, but I barely had the strength to make a sound.

“All… I can do… is… get this little one out…”

I gritted my teeth, resigned to the situation.

I had no choice. I realized my body was in the midst of childbirth—something unstoppable. All I could do was muster every ounce of strength to bring this little one inside me into the world.

What followed was wave after wave of excruciating pain.

After what felt like an eternity, I finally felt something round slip out from below, and the pain in my abdomen began to ease, the bloating sensation fading.

“Hah… finally… it’s out… what… what the hell is this…”

I forced my eyes open, feeling like my life was an absolute wreck—reborn only to immediately give birth… this had to be some kind of joke…

I thought bitterly, but exhaustion overwhelmed me. Unable to hold on, I closed my eyes and slipped into a deep, unconscious sleep in the bathtub.

Even in sleep, rest was uneasy.

Fragments of my past life flashed through my mind, growing hazy, while memories of this body’s original owner surfaced faintly.

But, utterly drained, I couldn’t care less about sorting through them. They flickered by, fleeting.

Soon, my consciousness sank completely into darkness.

“…”

A… voice?

In… my head…

“…Please…”

“?”

After who-knows-how-long in that昏睡 state, my consciousness began to stir, and I vaguely heard a young voice.

“Please… those two… children… I entrust them to you…”

A soft, slightly childish, but unclear female voice seemed to speak to me. I was waking up more now.

Then, a shiver ran through me.

“Hiss… so cold… so hungry…”

I shuddered, curling up, tempted to stay in the bathtub and sleep—but then I realized something.

I… was giving birth, right? No mistake about that!?

So… where’s the baby!? Where’s the crying!? Nothing! Not even right after it came out!

“…Stillborn?”

A terrible thought hit me, and panic surged—strictly speaking, it wasn’t my child, just this body’s, but I felt an overwhelming concern for the life I’d just brought into the world.

Gritting my teeth, I forced my exhausted, weak body to move. I gripped the edges of the bathtub, struggling to sit up.

And then… my eyes fell on a pool of blood… and two… eggs, about the size of human infants, stained with blood.

“…?????”

My brain crashed again.

Wasn’t I just giving birth!? What are these eggs!?

I stared, dumbfounded, at the two eggs, my heart pounding with shock and fear.

“…Only one explanation… I… gave birth to… these eggs?”

Stunned, I shakily raised my hands to my face.

…Slender, pale… ten fingers… yup, human hands.

I looked down.

Flat stomach, pale legs, ten toes… definitely human.

“…Dear God, what is going on…”

My head throbbed, but a cold breeze made me shiver again.

I realized I was wearing nothing but a thin dress, barely covering me. The fabric was so sheer, the red marks on my chest were visible.

…No matter what… I need to get up… find clothes, food… staying in this bathtub… I’ll die.

Like a zombie, I slowly, painfully stood, but as I tried to step out, I stumbled, my foot hitting the tub, and I crashed to the floor.

Thud—

The impact rang out as I hit the ground hard.

“Ow!!!”

My forehead slammed into the floor, pain shooting through me as I curled up. But, surprisingly, after the initial agony, the pain faded fast—within a minute, it was gone, like nothing happened.

“…Weird… this feeling… self-healing?”

I frowned, confused.

No way a fall like that should stop hurting so quickly, especially in this weak body…

And… no pain down there anymore.

How!? I just gave birth to two eggs the size of babies—that should’ve torn me apart… but I feel nothing.

This was all too strange.

“Huff… huff…”

Lying on the filthy bathroom floor, I caught my breath, then forced myself up to leave the bathroom for clothes and food.

As I stood, I caught a glimpse of myself in a nearby mirror.

Long, messy hair, white with a faint purple hue, transitioning to red at the ends—strikingly beautiful. My eyes, a reddish-orange, looked dull. My petite frame was frail, likely from malnutrition.

The thin dress clung to me, bloodstains on my inner thighs—some might call it provocative, but I felt only misery.

Most shocking… this body, barely five feet tall… looked like a sixteen-year-old girl.

Yet… I’d just given birth? To two eggs…

The realization hit, and my stomach churned.

“…F*ck.”

I cursed, damning whoever had violated this body.

Being reborn was a thrill, but this body’s situation was abysmal—young, frail, malnourished, and now a mother of… eggs.

…If those eggs are my children.

Whatever happened to this body before, it couldn’t have been good.

I shook my head, stumbling out of the bathroom to find food and clothes.

The room reeked of mold.

Broken furniture, scattered clothes—clearly, the previous owner wasn’t big on cleanliness.

This place… was a mess.

I sighed, heading to the small kitchen. Thank God, there was a slice of black bread and a tiny jar of jam.

Taking a deep breath, I grabbed the bread and a cup of water, found a barely decent chair in the filthy room, and sat to nibble the hard, sour bread. I didn’t love it, but it was the only food left—the last slice.

This might be my last meal for a while, but I needed something in my stomach.

“…Seriously… this is too much… waking up to childbirth…”

Staring at the stale bread, I sighed after a bite but kept eating.

“Huff… alright… let’s eat and… sort out what I know.”
