Chapter 13: I really want to escape.

“I saw it, I saw it.”

She pulled her arm back and unconsciously rubbed it.

Was it that the strength attribute of beast-eared girls in this other world differed from ordinary humans, or was her own body too fragile?
Just two pats from this naturally airheaded girl had nearly disconnected her arm.

Yet she still had to maintain the appearance of a gentle little white flower.

Hadn’t the blond Hero said he was going to train with the knight order today?
Why did he suddenly have time to come to the academy?

Did the academy have a knight order?

As expected, schools in other worlds were different. Even the educational institution had armed forces.

“You’re not a local from the royal capital, so you probably don’t know. Previously, Lord Hero was also a student at Freud Academy, and he was the most outstanding student in recent years. He scored nearly full marks in every single course. Do you know what that means?”

Noile seemed to be a loyal fan of the blond Hero.

The little nun raised her head and glanced at the gathered crowd. Because those in front walked slowly, those behind also slowed down, and more and more people were arriving. It even looked like there might be a traffic jam.

It seemed that quite a few students in the academy were fans of this guy to varying degrees.

“Um… he’s probably a very, very impressive person, right?”

CocoLiss didn’t know exactly how impressive getting full marks in every course was. Back in her school days, whenever she saw such people, her first reaction was to suspect what their purpose was for coming to Earth.

“More than that.”
Noile gestured animatedly, her reddish-brown fox ears trembling lightly. “CocoLiss dear, you should know that your golden seven-ring talent is already very impressive, right? But the Hero in front of you has a full nine rings!”

“Hm?”

CocoLiss’s eyebrows rose slightly.

So there were even higher-level experts?

No wonder he could become the Hero. He had already reached the top even before she understood how impressive the ring count actually was.

“CocoLiss dear, why do I feel like Lord Hero is looking in our direction?”

The little nun raised her head and looked.

Indeed.

And he was staring straight at her.

“Must be your imagination. What could he possibly want with us?”
The Saintess who wanted to live a peaceful campus life and then slack off at her job replied like this.

“Yeah, true.”
This naturally airheaded fox girl was also easy to fool.

“Ohhh! CocoLiss dear, look quick! The scene that supposedly happens every time Lord Hero returns to the academy is here!”
Noile excitedly patted CocoLiss’s arm again.

Fortunately, the prepared CocoLiss dodged it this time.

“What scene?”
CocoLiss followed Noile’s pointing finger and saw a big sister with a pair of pure white wings walking out from the crowd.

Her brisk pace formed a stark contrast with the slow-moving crowd around her.

Then this big chicken wing took out a bouquet of fresh flowers, blocking the blond Hero’s path and incidentally obstructing the gaze he had been directing toward CocoLiss.

CocoLiss, who had been about to slip away, was pulled back in place by Noile.

This girl wasn’t just naturally airheaded—she also loved watching drama.

The girl blocking the Hero’s way folded her ample white wings but held out the blooming bouquet in her hands. “Good morning, Mr. Joshua.”

Her voice was neither too loud nor too soft, happening to reach CocoLiss as well.

“CocoLiss dear, let me tell you. Legend has it that every time Lord Hero returns to the academy, there will be a young lady like an angel who expresses her love to him regardless of the occasion.”

“Uh… I can see that.”

So many people watching and she still didn’t feel embarrassed. CocoLiss definitely couldn’t do that.

But she still gestured for Noile to lower the volume of her loud whispering. After all, they had already thoroughly offended the Second Prince earlier, so it didn’t matter, but this person was someone they didn’t know yet.

What if she was also an important figure? That would be bad.

“Did the two of them know each other back when they were in the academy?”
CocoLiss was actually quite curious about the blond Hero’s past.

“Yes. I heard they were classmates in the same year. But Lord Hero was simply too outstanding. Within the academy’s three-year program, he obtained mid-rank mage certification and graduated early. This senior is still in her final half year of studies, working toward mid-rank mage.”

At least she had listened to CocoLiss’s advice and lowered her voice. Otherwise, openly digging up someone else’s private matters right in front of them—even CocoLiss would have to take a second look to see who was bold enough.

Of course, it might also be because if her own private matters were dug up, she would be finished.

“Mm, good morning.”

The blond Hero’s response sounded rather indifferent.

He tried to shift his blocked gaze away from the other party again, but her slightly spread wings blocked it completely. He had no choice but to look at her directly.

“What are you doing at the academy today? Are you here to see Bishop Zain? She just finished speaking to the new students and has probably already left by now.”

“I’m not here to see her today. There’s knight order training, so I came by to see someone.”

The blond Hero’s answer was equally straightforward.

But commotion rose from the surrounding crowd.

Thinking about it carefully, this Hero who enjoyed great fame within the academy, known as the most outstanding graduate in recent years who was still growing, had few close friends during his time studying here. Now, there was practically no one who could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him or was on familiar terms with him.

Within the entire academy, the person the Hero was most familiar with was probably this feathered woman who constantly pursued him, even somewhat relentlessly.

In other words, this time the Hero had come to see her.

Yes, even dripping water could pierce stone, and an iron pestle could be ground into a needle. It was about time.

Those huge wings shyly folded inward.

“Then you…”
She smiled sweetly. “Can you accept my flowers?”

“Accept what flowers?”
The blond Hero once again gave an answer no one expected.

“Aren’t you here to see me?”

“No.”

Alright, our Hero’s answers were still very straightforward.

“Then who are you here to see? Who else is there in the academy?”

“Please step aside.”
The blond Hero still seemed quite polite as he gently moved the bouquet out of the way.

Then he looked toward CocoLiss and Noile, who were watching the show not far away.

The gazes of everyone present also shifted to the two of them. Only then did they notice the fox girl and the gentle, angel-like beautiful girl standing there.

The little nun instinctively felt something was wrong.

She really should have run away earlier. It was all because of the girl beside her and her ridiculously strong grip that had held her back.

“CocoLiss.”
He called out the little nun’s name, causing her to retract the leg she had just begun to step backward.
