The Beloved Little Cupcake Doesn’t Want to Have Children with Strange Girls

Chapter 16: The Demon Hunter Revolver.

“Alright, let’s put this aside for now. Although I’m quite interested in you, there are more important matters at hand.”

The moment the red-haired demon hunter appeared, the anomalies inside the tavern scattered like startled birds, avoiding her at all costs.

The infamous demon hunters of the hell world!

It was common knowledge that wherever they appeared, trouble was sure to follow. Any one of them might end up as the designated target on someone’s bounty list one day.

Their reaction was completely different from when they had seen White Sugar.

They displayed their bullying of the weak and fear of the strong to perfection.

The only one who still had the confidence to remain standing in place was the Wine Barrel Butcher, whose strength had reached Blood-Robed Level. He had probably known of her presence all along.

White Sugar’s expression remained calm as she prepared to see what purpose this suddenly appearing demon hunter had.

The demon hunter girl squatted down beside the fallen werewolf and reached out to pick up the revolver that had dropped to the floor.

“I told you, you couldn’t handle my revolver. Even if you won it, all you did was take your own life.”

The demon hunter girl looked somewhat disgusted by the sticky blood clots on the revolver. Her gaze toward White Sugar was full of resentment.

White Sugar frowned. That revolver belonged to her?

“Mm… Your name is White Sugar, right? I’m Theresa.”

She pointed the muzzle at the werewolf’s corpse on the ground and explained,

“This guy was my target. Because of this tavern, I couldn’t take direct action. Many things could only be settled through gambling games.”

The girl paused for a moment before continuing.

“As you can probably guess, I’m not very good at those. Anyway, I still have to thank you for helping me deal with him.”

What the hell?

Did this demon hunter actually lose her own weapon to her hunting target?

White Sugar was speechless. This was way too unreliable.

“Then how are you going to thank me?” White Sugar said expressionlessly. “Don’t tell me your so-called thanks is just empty words?”

To be honest, White Sugar didn’t have much good feelings toward this suddenly appearing demon hunter.

Although she had a human appearance, she was ultimately not a fellow countryman from Earth. To White Sugar, she was essentially no different from the other anomalies in this world.

She was simply more aesthetically pleasing.

“Even though you put it that way…”

Theresa scratched her hair, then a flash of inspiration hit her. She reached into her pocket and took out a bullet.

More precisely, it was a silver bullet that glinted coldly under the light.

Theresa opened the revolver’s cylinder, poured out the two remaining ordinary copper bullets, and loaded the silver bullet in their place.

She spun the cylinder and pushed the bullet into the chamber.

Under White Sugar’s bewildered gaze, the dark muzzle was aimed at the dead werewolf on the ground.

“Werewolves aren’t that easy to kill. As thanks, I’ll help you eliminate the risk of him seeking revenge later.”

Bang——!

This gunshot was far louder than any previous one. The pungent smoke blurred White Sugar’s vision until it completely dissipated.

There was no longer any corpse of the werewolf on the ground—only ashes remained, as if burned by fierce flames.

“To deal with werewolves, you need silver bullets~” Theresa blew away the white smoke from the muzzle and struck a cool pose.

Damn it, so pretending to be dead wasn’t something only Jotaro could do!

“Mm, then we’re even.”

White Sugar withdrew her gaze and looked calmly at the Wine Barrel Butcher.

“I won the game according to the tavern’s rules. Can I leave now?”

The Wine Barrel Butcher stared at White Sugar with a strange look for a long time before finally turning around and returning behind the tavern counter.

“Go ahead.”

Only then did White Sugar truly breathe a sigh of relief.

From beginning to end, the one who had put the greatest pressure on her had never been the werewolf in the same game, but the Wine Barrel Butcher, who had almost no presence as the referee.

Now that White Sugar wanted to leave, no anomaly dared to stop her.

Almost all eyes were on the girl.

There was curiosity, probing, and even more of a subtle fear after personally witnessing the werewolf fall at her hands.

This human… didn’t seem that easy to provoke after all.

……

The moment White Sugar walked out of the Goat Tavern, she looked up. The sky had already darkened.

This was bad. Long Night was almost here.

In some dark corners, low-intelligence ghouls were already stirring, about to crawl out.

“I wonder if I can make it back to the grocery store before it gets completely dark if I run,” White Sugar bit her lip.

At that moment, a familiar girl’s voice sounded from behind her again.

“I wouldn’t recommend that. You’ll die, you know.”

Demon Hunter Theresa followed her out of the tavern and kindly reminded her.

“That pack of ghouls loves the scent of blood the most. If you run past them, you’ll be like a tempting piece of fat meat.”

White Sugar lowered her head and looked at her palm, knowing the other party was referring to the bloodstains she had gotten on her hand earlier.

“Give me your hand,” she said.

Even White Sugar didn’t know why she obeyed. She subconsciously stretched out her hand. By the time she came back to her senses, a cool sensation spread across her palm.

Theresa was holding a cup of beer she had brought out from the Goat Tavern. She tilted the cup, pouring the orange-yellow liquid entirely onto White Sugar’s hand.

Theresa grabbed the girl’s small hand and rubbed it vigorously, not missing a single finger crease. She nearly rubbed the skin raw.

“I could have washed it myself,” White Sugar pursed her lips, but still couldn’t help asking, “Why did you specially come out to remind me?”

“Aiya, it’s just a small favor. No need to mind it,” Theresa waved her hand.

“Right!” The demon hunter girl suddenly looked up and said seriously, “White Sugar, you should remember my name, right?”

“Theresa?” White Sugar asked tentatively.

“That’s right, Theresa! Remember it well—it’s Demon Hunter Theresa Delina!”

Only after confirming there was no longer any scent of blood on White Sugar’s hands did she let go. She then handed over the cleaned revolver, along with the remaining five silver bullets in her pocket.

“Long Night is dangerous. I won’t send you back, but this is the reward for the brave.”

Theresa winked.

“Don’t die too quickly, okay~”

Staring at the revolver handed to her, the Eye of Breaking Delusion slowly displayed information.

【Name: Demon Hunter Revolver (5/6)】
【Introduction: A weapon exclusive to demon hunters. It carries anti-demon properties and deals double damage to anomalies of the [Evil] faction.】
【Value Assessment: It can save your life.】

White Sugar found it hard to describe her current feelings. Compared to gratitude, what she felt more strongly was a sense of absurdity.

So in this world, not everyone wanted to eat her?

“Go on. I won’t send you off.”

Watching the pink-haired girl’s figure gradually disappear into the night, Theresa slightly curved the corners of her mouth. Even she didn’t fully understand why she had helped that human girl named White Sugar.

She had simply felt like doing it, so she did.

Perhaps it was a momentary whim, or maybe because it was the first time in the hell world she had encountered a human girl who hadn’t given up hope of living.

She was curious to see how far the other party could go.

“Keep working hard to survive.”
