Chapter 17: This is a notification

“Sis, I thought I’d never see you again ”

“It’s okay now, everything’s fine.”

Bai Feifei cried in Bai Yao’s arms for a long, long time, until Jasmine and Rose emerged from the amusement park.

Seeing Bai Yao, they opened their mouths, instinctively wanting to ask about her condition.

But with a girl in Bai Yao’s arms, they couldn’t reveal she was once a magical girl.

They swallowed their words, waiting to speak as ordinary people after transforming back.

“You should leave quickly,” Jasmine said formally, leading Rose away.

The crisis was over, but Jasmine’s mood was low.

Rose’s was worse!

She hated witches—unreasonable, terrifyingly powerful beings!

She’d wash her face a hundred times when she got home!

She’d scrub away every trace of the Pride Witch’s presence!

Bai Feifei, sobbing, gradually quieted.

“Sis, where were you? I couldn’t find you anywhere, I thought… ┭┮﹏┭┮”

Bai Yao cupped Bai Feifei’s face, pressing her forehead against hers.

“I got pushed to a remote spot by the crowd. It’s normal you didn’t see me.”

“Really… sob…”

“Of course. Would I lie to you?”

With a few words, Bai Yao soothed Bai Feifei. Their hard-earned holiday was ruined.

Anger toward that man named Augustus flared in Bai Yao’s heart.

Her sister studied from five in the morning to ten at night, with only one day off a month!

And he ruined it, making Bai Yao furious.

She should’ve crushed Augustus on the spot instead of wasting time on her puppet theater.

Jasmine and Rose’s arrival distracted her, giving Augustus a chance to escape.

Bai Yao swore, if she met Augustus again, she’d grind him to dust on the spot!

“Sis, your face looks scary.”

“Huh? Does it? You must be mistaken, Feifei.”

Bai Yao flashed her usual gentle smile, taking Bai Feifei’s hand and heading home.

Back home, Bai Feifei still hadn’t recovered.

She clung to Bai Yao, refusing to let go, leaving Bai Yao helpless.

All she could do was hold Bai Feifei, comforting and coaxing her.

“Alright, it’s really safe now. Can you let go of Sis? If you don’t, you’ll tear my collar.”

“No! o(>﹏<)o”

Bai Feifei buried her face in Bai Yao’s ample chest, the softness easing her fear.

In this home, her sister was her last refuge.

Bai Yao lifted Bai Feifei onto her lap, rocking her gently like soothing a baby.

Gradually, Bai Yao felt the grip on her collar weaken.

Looking down, Bai Feifei’s eyes were closed, her cheeks streaked with tear stains.

Her brow furrowed occasionally—she was having a nightmare.

Bai Yao gently laid Bai Feifei on the sofa, kissing her tear-stained cheek.

“Feifei, don’t worry. Leave the rest to Sis.”

Bai Yao sighed, her chest damp from Bai Feifei’s tears. Coaxing her sister wasn’t easy.

But she had to care for Bai Feifei as best she could. Their parents died in a pollution entity incident.

Only the two sisters remained, relying on each other. Bai Yao became a magical girl by chance after their deaths, fighting for two and a half years.

Now retired, she’d spend her days with Bai Feifei, raising her.

Her sister didn’t need to be a genius or an elite.

She just needed to grow up happily under Bai Yao’s care, her strongest shield.

Bai Yao slipped off her soaked dress, wandering the room in her underwear, dialing Bai Feifei’s homeroom teacher.

Beep… beep…

“Hello?”

“Is this Teacher Zhang? I’m Bai Feifei’s sister.”

“I remember you from the last parent-teacher meeting. What’s up?”

“Teacher Zhang, Feifei won’t attend morning or evening study sessions anymore, nor any holiday tutoring.”

“What?!”

A sharp, incredulous female voice came from the other end.

“Are you serious? I can understand skipping study sessions—school is tough for kids these days. But without tutoring, Feifei’s grades will slip.”

“You know her grades aren’t great. Without tutoring… I’m worried she’ll fall behind. A year from now, she might fail the college entrance exam, ruining her future.”

Teacher Zhang was diplomatic, avoiding saying Bai Feifei would outright fail.

But she thought it, not wanting to hurt feelings.

Bai Feifei was a handful, uninterested in studying, always playing.

Her grades were mid-to-low in class, and Teacher Zhang worried about students like her.

Their scores teetered on the edge of passing or failing.

With effort, they could soar.

Without it… well, that was uncertain.

“Teacher Zhang, I have thirty million in assets. What are you worried about for Feifei’s future?”

“…”

Silence lingered on the other end, followed by a woman’s exasperated sigh, as if cursing her own lack of thirty million.

“Teacher Zhang, this is a notification, not a discussion.”

“If you disagree, Feifei will transfer schools immediately.”

Beep.

Bai Yao hung up.

As a sister, if she couldn’t do this for Feifei, she’d be a failure.

Click.

The door handle turned, and Bai Feifei walked in, pouting with a wronged expression.

“┭┮﹏┭┮ Sis, why’d you leave?”

“Wait!”

Bai Feifei didn’t wait a second, diving into Bai Yao’s arms, oblivious to her half-naked state.

She crashed into Bai Yao, the force knocking her onto the bed.

Sob Sis, are you abandoning me? ”

“How could I?”

Bai Yao had no choice but to hold her.

“Then why’d you sneak away? ”

“I was changing. Look, I’m in my underwear.”

“!!!”

At that, Bai Feifei’s eyes locked onto Bai Yao’s chest.

They widened like bells.

So… so big!

Bai Feifei gestured with her hands, the shock of Bai Yao’s size briefly erasing her amusement park fears.

“Alright, stop staring. You’ll have what I have. I’m changing, so go out.”

“No!”

Bai Feifei shouted, refusing to leave.

Anywhere away from her sister was dangerous!

She needed to stay with her sister all the time!
