Chapter 2: Someone Caught Me~

“Junior Su Qi, no need to get worked up. You wouldn’t want anyone to find out about you cross-dressing and selling bentos at the night market, would you?”

Night market, wifely charm, bento, Junior Su Qi.

With the ethereal, melodious voice of the girl echoing in the quiet midnight, the words rang clear in Su Qi’s small bedroom, one keyword after another.

At that moment, Su Qi stood completely frozen in place.

Judging by the actions and words of this “vampire girl,” Su Qi could tell she didn’t have the intention he’d feared—of draining him dry.

For now, his life didn’t seem to be in danger.

But as he let out a sigh of relief, Su Qi realized a far more troubling issue.

She’d called him “Junior,” and she’d deliberately tracked down his home with precision.

This meant all his personal information was completely exposed!

Having his secret discovered by a senior from school—wasn’t this the ultimate social death?!

Sure, having his secret exposed was mortifying.

But as someone who often walked a fine line, Su Qi had always prepared for the possibility of his secret coming to light.

After the initial three seconds of shock, with the gentle night breeze blowing through the window and the starry sky framed by a radiant full moon outside, Su Qi quickly regained his composure.

Since she’d come to his home this late at night instead of exposing him at the night market or in public, it suggested one thing.

Perhaps she was here to negotiate terms.

After sorting through the situation, Su Qi forced himself to stay calm. “Who are you? What do you want?”

Hearing Su Qi’s question, the vampire girl with demonic wings flashed a sly smile on her stunningly pale face, her lips curving upward. “Simple. Help me with something, and this stays between us.”

As she spoke, as if to answer his question, the girl stepped closer, their eyes locking.

Up close, Su Qi caught a faint jasmine scent emanating from her.

With the distance closing and the moonlight streaming through the window, Su Qi could now see her breathtaking features clearly.

She was beautiful—Su Qi had known that from the first glance.

But upon closer inspection, setting aside the vampire fangs peeking from the corners of her mouth, he felt a faint sense of familiarity. Searching his memory, Su Qi ventured a guess.

“Are you… Lin Xue, the fourth-year student from Spirit Martial University?”

Su Qi recognized her for two reasons.

First, Lin Xue’s appearance was undeniably striking, and she was a well-known figure on the campus forum, often called the school’s beauty.

Second, his desk mate at Spirit Martial University, Mo Yu, was a huge fan of Lin Xue and considered her his idol.

“Bingo! You got it.” Hearing Su Qi identify her, Lin Xue playfully winked.

“Junior Su Qi, I didn’t expect you to recognize me. Hehe, looks like even though you awakened a transformation ability like mine, you’re still a boy at heart!”

“Wait, hold on. Could it be, Junior, you’ve got a crush on me? Want your big sister to help with some… physical needs? I happen to need a favor from you, Junior Su Qi. Let me tell you, your big sister is very good at sucking.”

As she spoke, Lin Xue’s red lips parted slightly, revealing her slender fangs, and she leaned forward, reaching toward his pants as if about to bite something unspeakable.

Though Su Qi knew she was likely just teasing, the sight of those sharp, gleaming fangs sent an instinctive shiver through him. Acting on a boy’s reflex, he stepped back twice to create distance.

“Senior Lin Xue, what exactly are you here for? You didn’t come just to mess with me, did you? If so, I’ll call the police.”

“The police?” Lin Xue repeated the word, then parted her red lips in a mocking tone. “Junior, you’re the one cross-dressing and selling overpriced bentos. If anyone’s calling the police, it should be me!”

But seeing Su Qi’s brows furrow deeper and the atmosphere growing increasingly awkward, it was clear he wasn’t taking the bait.

Lin Xue didn’t continue teasing.

Instead, she casually walked to the sofa in the Su family’s living room, plopped down, and patted the spot beside her, getting to the point.

“Junior Su Qi, don’t be so tense or hostile. I didn’t figure out your identity because you hid it poorly. My ability is tied to blood, so I can smell your unique scent.”

Lin Xue’s tone was light and confident, clearly trusting in her ability. After a brief pause, she continued.

“I’m here because there’s been some activity in Lin City’s Sacred Ruins recently. You know the Sacred Ruins are a place of both risk and opportunity. A new passage has opened inside, and it’s a rare chance! To explore it safely, I’d like you to use your ability to make special bentos for our expedition.”

As she spoke, Lin Xue’s gaze fixed on Su Qi, a spark of anticipation in her eyes.

“After all, a temporary attribute boost will make our exploration safer. Of course, I won’t ask for your help for free—I’ll pay you accordingly. As for the specific terms of the reward, think it over tonight, Junior Su Qi. We can discuss it tomorrow when we meet at the third cafeteria at Spirit Martial University.”

With that, Lin Xue’s lips curved into a faint smile, her black wings gently flapping behind her.

In the next moment, she appeared at the open window on the balcony.

“Think carefully, okay? Even some… spicy conditions aren’t off the table. I’m kind of into cute boys like you.”

With that bold parting remark, Lin Xue’s slender figure leaped from the open window, vanishing into the pitch-black night.

Watching her disappear into the darkness, Su Qi couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy.

Emmmmmmmm, as a boy, who wouldn’t want wings? Just the thought of it was insanely cool.

Not to mention, vampire abilities were pretty impressive in terms of combat power.

But his own Crisp Wife ability? Not only was it weak in combat, it required him to transform into a girl.

Truly… indescribable.

Amid his frustration, Su Qi began to mull over Lin Xue’s words.

A new passage in the Sacred Ruins.

The term “Sacred Ruins” was no stranger to Su Qi.

Twenty years ago, Sacred Ruins began sprouting across the Earth like mushrooms after rain. These ruins, like wounds in the planet, endlessly released dense spiritual energy. This energy, like a clear spring, seeped into every corner of the world, ushering Earth into a new era—the Age of Spiritual Resurgence.

With the resurgence of spiritual energy, mysterious creatures and spirit beasts, long hidden underground, began to surface. Their unimaginable power and abilities posed a massive threat to human society.

The thermal weapons humanity had relied on were utterly ineffective against these spiritual entities.

Faced with this sudden crisis, humanity plunged into unprecedented panic and chaos.

Yet, at this critical moment, the spiritual energy from the Sacred Ruins became humanity’s salvation. Some people began awakening extraordinary abilities, granting them the power to stand against spirit beasts.

After initial turmoil and heavy losses, humanity paid a steep price but gradually adapted to this new world.

Now, with human abilities developed and guided, the situation had largely stabilized. The labyrinthine, dungeon-like Sacred Ruins had become a place for combat-oriented ability users to explore, hunt for treasures, and grow stronger.

Recalling the knowledge from his textbooks, Su Qi couldn’t help but find it surreal.

He’d thought his Crisp Wife ability, unrelated to combat, would keep him far from the Sacred Ruins for life.

Yet, just by selling bentos, someone had come knocking with a collaboration offer.

What a surprise!

So, what kind of reward should he ask for?

Wait—something felt off.

Thinking back, it seemed Lin Xue hadn’t given him the option to refuse!

Sigh… this must be the helplessness of having your weakness in someone else’s hands!

Completely at her mercy!
