Chapter 22: You bad woman, I don’t like you!

Ten thousand meters above, Pride’s eyes blazed crimson.

Fury overflowed, her clenched silver teeth grinding audibly.

Pride had never been this angry!

Before her stood the Greedy Witch.

An utterly shameless woman, touching her without consent.

Last time it was threats; this time, direct action.

If Pride didn’t fight back, who knew what Greedy would do next?

Crimson spider lily petals floated around Pride, stirred by her raging magic.

Without a word, Pride swung her spider lily baton forward, unleashing sharp petals that sliced toward Greedy with the wind.

“Oh my~ My lovely spider lily’s upset~”

Greedy crossed her arms, chuckling softly.

A layer of magic shimmered over her body, and with a slight push, she dispersed it outward.

The petals rushing toward her were crushed into nothingness by her magic.

Greedy caught the few remaining petals, blowing them gently.

“Phew~”

The petals drifted back to Pride, landing softly on her face.

To Pride, this was blatant provocation.

Utterly shameless!

“Greedy, I’ll kill you!”

Veins bulged on Pride’s pale neck, her face twisted in rage.

The aloof Pride rarely showed such emotion.

Past Pride Witches were always cold and detached.

Pride swung her baton hard, summoning a spiked, blood-red vine whip.

“Don’t get so worked up”

Her words didn’t soothe Pride—they enraged her further.

Her heart felt ready to explode from this vile woman’s antics.

Pride lashed out with a spinning whip, sealing all of Greedy’s escape routes.

Spider Lily Strangle!

Greedy eyed the flashing red whip’s afterimages, a hint of surprise on her lips.

“Wow~ Not bad for my chosen one~ Just a few days, and you’ve mastered ‘Pride’s’ power so well?”

As Greedy moved to dodge, Pride’s cold voice rang out.

“Stop!”

A crushing force surged toward Greedy, freezing her for a mere 0.01 seconds.

In a duel of masters, even a split second could flip the outcome.

In that instant, the whip struck Greedy.

It coiled around her, blood-red spikes sinking mercilessly into her tender skin.

Pain flashed across Greedy’s face, but her smile grew, tinged with excitement.

“That really hurt~”

“Any last words?”

Pride stepped through the air toward Greedy, her furious voice seeming to crush her.

“If I could kiss you before I die, that’d be nice~”

Greedy’s eyes curved, brimming with affection for Pride.

She no longer hid her feelings.

Sensing that emotion, Pride shuddered as if struck by lightning.

Greedy’s words repulsed her.

She’d heard stories of “those” kinds of women but never seen one.

She never imagined it would happen to her.

“Go to hell.”

In Pride’s mind, witches were unforgivable.

Greedy deserved death.

“I like you so much~ Yet you want to kill me. That won’t do~”

Greedy got serious, unleashing her full magic.

The sky darkened instantly, the air locked by her immense power.

Pride froze, overwhelmed by Greedy’s colossal magic.

Witches were apex beings, wielding world-altering power.

But there were gaps between them.

Greedy, a seasoned witch, fully mastered her “Greed” authority.

Pride, new to her “Pride” authority, was far from proficient.

Their duel’s outcome was decided from the start.

Greedy approached Pride, her right hand resting lightly on her shoulder.

“My lovely spider lily~ You should know, throwing tantrums because of my affection is wrong. Without my favor, you’re nothing before me.”

Greedy’s usual smile vanished, her voice icy.

Her right hand pressed down, a massive magical pressure slamming Pride from the sky.

Greedy channeled magic into her right foot, aiming for Pride’s chest.

She dove, spinning, and kicked.

The force sent Pride crashing to the ground faster.

From ten thousand meters, Pride hit the earth in under ten seconds.

Greedy landed.

Pride struggled from the crater, battered and bloodied, utterly disheveled.

Her magic faded, revealing Bai Yao’s face.

Greedy’s single blow had shattered her magic, forcing her to revert.

“Oh~ My lovely spider lily, I’m so sorry~”

Greedy was surprised—she hadn’t used much force.

One hit, and Bai Yao was undone?

As Greedy puzzled, Bai Yao’s lips trembled, tears streaming from her eyes.

This vile woman was too much!

Threatening her, teasing her, now beating her.

Bai Yao was the victim—why couldn’t she get justice?

She felt utterly wronged.

She’d never been this humiliated.

Sob… ”

Unable to hold back, Bai Yao’s tears fell, her soft cries echoing.

“Yao, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”

Greedy panicked. She hadn’t expected to make Bai Yao cry.

She was just playing… okay, maybe she hit too hard.

Bai Yao wanted to kill her! If she didn’t act, she’d be dead, right?

Guilt-ridden, Greedy was at a loss facing the sobbing Bai Yao.

“Yao, really, I’m sorry. Hit me back?”

“Waaah!”

Greedy’s words made it worse—Bai Yao felt the world owed her a fortune.

She sat on the ground, bawling, leaving Greedy flustered.

“Yao, please don’t cry. I’m really sorry.”

At a loss, Greedy hugged Bai Yao, hoping her embrace would ease her pain.

Sob… You awful woman… I don’t like you!”
