Chapter 24: I couldn’t help but scream.
This damn technique—why does it feel like I’ve done something naughty every time we finish cultivating properly?
She was panting heavily.
What a weird technique. My body feels so strange.
Did I just let out some weird noises…?
He didn’t hear that, right? I should’ve kept my volume under control, right?
The embarrassing scene kept replaying in her mind, and the combined exhaustion of body and mind made it hard to fight off sleep. She gradually drifted off.
Her cultivation level had silently broken through while she was desperately trying not to make those strange sounds.
Her consciousness grew hazy, the sound of whistling wind filling her ears.
Li Tianxing scooped her up in his arms, packed up the tent, and pulled a tattered cloth from his storage ring. With a tap of his finger, he leaped onto the cloth, soaring into the sky.
The sudden weightlessness made Xie Qiyang let out a soft cry, instinctively tightening her arms around his neck.
The fierce winds of the high altitude roared but miraculously didn’t touch them. A protective aura enveloped them both.
The wind became a mere background howl, gently lifting the skirt of the new outfit Xie Qiyang was wearing.
It wasn’t exactly a new outfit. Li Tianxing had said it was just the disguise function activated— to outsiders, she appeared to be wearing an elegant, flowing, wide-sleeved immortal dress.
It added an ethereal, otherworldly charm, as if she were a celestial fairy who had accidentally descended to the mortal realm.
But in reality, to her, she was still wearing those provocative knee-high white stockings and the short skirt.
The cool sensation, combined with the unfamiliar feeling of her arms, was overwhelming.
“Hey…” Xie Qiyang’s voice carried heavy exhaustion and a hint of soft, delicate nasal tone, muffled against Li Tianxing’s neck. “Slow down… I’m dizzy…”
Li Tianxing lowered his gaze, taking in her slightly furrowed brows from fatigue and mild discomfort, and the strands of dark hair the wind had blown against her smooth forehead.
Her frail, completely dependent appearance greatly pleased him. Instead of slowing down, he deliberately dove sharply.
“Ah—!” The intense weightlessness made Xie Qiyang scream, her arms tightening around his neck, her entire body practically melding into his embrace.
“Li Tianxing! You jerk!” She lifted her head in anger, glaring at him with watery, indignant eyes.
“Scared?” Li Tianxing chuckled, his chest vibrating with amusement. He leveled out their flight, subtly slowing down. He freed one hand, naturally brushing away the stray hairs dancing across her cheek, his fingertips grazing her sensitive earlobe.
The cool touch made Xie Qiyang tremble slightly. Her anger hadn’t faded, but a faint blush inexplicably crept onto her cheeks. “Who… who’s scared!” she retorted stubbornly, her voice lacking conviction.
“Not scared?” Li Tianxing raised an eyebrow, leaning close to her ear, his hot breath grazing her sensitive earlobe and neck. “Then why were you holding me so tightly just now?”
“That’s… that’s because you were flying too fast.” Xie Qiyang turned her face away in embarrassment, trying to hide her burning cheeks. Her shy, indignant look, framed by the pure white dress, was breathtakingly beautiful.
Why… why do I blush so easily? Twice, just twice, and I’m already like this.
Xie Qiyang wailed inwardly, feeling like she’d changed so much. So many actions, so many words, she did and said without thinking.
Li Tianxing’s eyes darkened, his arm around her waist tightening, pressing her soft body flush against his, leaving no gap. “Shuang’er, look at the sea of clouds.”
Xie Qiyang followed his gesture. Below was an endless, rolling sea of pure white clouds, shimmering with magnificent light under the golden sun.
In the distance, snow-capped mountain peaks rose like solitary islands floating above the clouds, holy and majestic.
“Doesn’t it feel like…” Li Tianxing’s voice carried a strange, seductive allure, “we’re a newlywed couple, traveling the clouds together?”
“Who… who’s newlyweds with you?”
Her heart felt like it had been struck, a tingling sensation spreading from her chest to every limb.
The overwhelming embarrassment made her want to retort, but the word “newlywed” was like a honeyed hook, gently tugging at the softest part of her heart, sending ripples through her.
She could even feel the steady, powerful beat of his heart in the chest she leaned against, as if echoing those absurd yet… heart-stirring words.
Her lips protested, but her body honestly relaxed, softly nestling into his embrace, her gaze dreamily fixed on the majestic cloud-sea wonderland.
Li Tianxing felt her softening posture and the absence of sharp rebuttals, his expression easing.
He adjusted his hold, letting her rest more comfortably.
The sunlight gilded them, clouds as their companions, the wind their melody. In this moment, setting aside schemes, techniques, and struggles, it truly felt a bit like a divine couple wandering the world together.
But little did he know, the girl in his arms was already planning to leave.
Xie Qiyang thought to herself that this body seemed to hold more than one consciousness. So many things she’d done and said these past few days weren’t things she’d do—at least not so soon.
Li Tianxing’s endless array of suggestive techniques was powerful, but they only controlled her body.
She refused to believe that her instinctive shyness, her dazed ramblings in pleasure, or her subconscious desire to agree to be his lifelong partner were her own thoughts. No way!
No, she wouldn’t be taken advantage of, and she wouldn’t let her body feel so strange!
In his steady embrace and warm body heat, her eyelids grew heavier, her consciousness fading. Before slipping into sleep, she vaguely thought: This jerk… flies… pretty steadily… Then, she let herself sink into the comforting warmth of his presence in the clouds.
“Now… it’s not so bad… but I have to leave!”
