Chapter 24: The Water Gun Saint and the Evildoer’s Awakening.

“What kind of saintess are you?!”

River’s roar was answered by the “howl” of Suna’s shotgun-water gun hybrid.

Golden flames erupted, their radiant droplets forming a fan-shaped barrage hurtling toward River.

Taking advantage of the brief pause during his question, River used the spatial reload function in his magazine, flicking his left wrist and firing his magical handgun.

Multiple bullets ricocheted off the walls, floor, and ceiling, weaving a vivid orange-yellow net that swelled into a magical barrier in an instant.

“Sealing Light Net.”

The moment the barrier formed, a fierce explosion rocked the entire building. Though River stood behind the orange-yellow light wall, spared from the blast’s brunt, the shockwave laced with golden flames tore through the fifth floor’s defensive spell-woven structure, reducing the surrounding floor, walls, and ceiling to crumbling rubble.

The seemingly impervious orange light wall twisted and shattered after absorbing too much force.

As the golden flames mixed with shattered stone surged forward, River gathered every ounce of magic he could muster.

“Hunting Magic Bullet.”

Orange-yellow fire burst from his gun’s muzzle like a massive, meter-wide flower blooming, its bullet zipping through the air in a zigzag path, bypassing obstacles to target Suna.

Dodging a bullet aimed at her head with a quick tilt, Suna sensed it veer in erratic arcs, homing in on her back.

‘Curse magic? Probably a sure-hit curse. Keeping distance will only let him stall me.’

Making a snap decision, she pivoted, swinging her left arm—now clad in a gauntlet of flowing golden water—backward.

“Radiant Rain Armor.”

The orange bullet struck her left palm, and though the swirling golden water couldn’t stop it, it drastically reduced its power.

Her left arm was left with a dozen bleeding gashes, nearly torn apart.

The bullet, piercing through, lost its curse-driven accuracy. Standing at the edge of the broken corridor, Suna gripped her shotgun with her right hand, ready to fire again.

But a flicker of life force appeared behind her.

Before she could react, Jok, the fat bodyguard presumed immobile, leaped up, his telekinetic “giant hand” seizing her body first.

The invisible, translucent force disrupted her aim.

Her golden rain barrage shot through holes in the floor and walls, blasting the fourth floor. Glancing back, Suna saw Jok lunging at her like a bloated zombie, a pale bone blade still lodged in his right eye socket, piercing his brain—yet he moved.

[Tch, does he have troll blood or something? What a miscalculation!]

Surprised by his resilience, Suna recalled how she’d burned his lungs with Corona Magic while using precise, excessive healing magic to clog his trachea with tumorous flesh.

By blocking his carotid artery and creating a fatal opening, she’d controlled her “puppet” to deliver the real killing blow—a high-speed pale bone blade.

Yet, with his brain severely damaged and blood flow cut off, Jok stood again, making her question his lineage.

Surprised but quick to react, Suna unleashed a small burst of her blessing [Radiant Rainscape], its golden droplets tearing through the invisible telekinetic hand. She stomped the ground to distance herself from Jok.

Ignoring the golden droplets exploding across his body, Jok grabbed her shotgun with one hand and swung a heavy fist with the other.

“River… do it!”

With Jok’s resolute shout, the shotgun groaned and shattered under his grip.

His bloodied, pockmarked body—riddled by the golden droplets—unleashed a crushing punch alongside a dozen sealing-magic bullets ricocheting at tricky angles and a second Hunting Magic Bullet descending through the ceiling above Suna.

Mid-air from her leap, Suna released the shotgun, slamming her right fist against Jok’s.

With a sickening crack, her right hand shattered, bloodied bone fragments flying.

Using the recoil, she dodged the Hunting Magic Bullet, fully activating her blessing [Veil of Truth] and the defensive Radiant Rain Armor.

Some sealing bullets lodged in the golden water armor, unable to advance, while the Hunting Magic Bullet flailed aimlessly like a headless fly.

River, surprised by Suna’s elusive presence, reloaded for a pursuit.

But a faint sting pierced his chest.

Sensing it through his magic, he realized a broken finger bone had shallowly embedded in his chest.

Before he could react, the Hunting Magic Bullet blasted through his torso, leaving a gaping hole in the lavish door behind him.

“Cough… urgh!”

Spitting blood, River collapsed.

In his fading consciousness, he saw Jok, mortally wounded to create an opening, pierced by several golden radiant spears and falling once more.

“Your resolve is impressive. But following the wrong people only makes your sins worse.”

Landing beside River, Suna watched his pupils dilate and lose focus. She clapped her hands, unleashing golden flames to burn away her scattered blood, bone fragments, and the “puppet’s” remains.

After erasing her traces, Suna strode toward the lavish door.
