Chapter 25: The Witch’s Peak: Lust
The “stories” themed Tea Party neared its end.
Eiffel sat in the main seat, pouting unhappily.
“Why’s my treasure energy collection so low?”
“Felice, did you sneak some while I was gone?”
Felice stood straight beside Eiffel, fulfilling her maid duties.
“Your Highness, energy can’t be eaten. Please don’t accuse me unjustly.”
“Fine.”
Eiffel held a transparent crystal orb, 10% filled with pink energy.
This was optimistic, positive emotional energy she collected from humans to craft witch treasures.
“Your Highness, recently an organization called the Tarot Society has been active, causing havoc in the human world. That might be why your energy collection is slow.”
“Is that so? Why haven’t you dealt with them, Felice?”
Felice gave a wry smile.
The Tarot Society was a behemoth with countless members.
It boasted twenty-two Arcana, each capable of destroying a human city.
Their leader, The Fool, was said to rival a witch.
Felice was powerless against them.
“Hmph, I knew you were useless in a fight, only good as my little maid.”
Eiffel grumbled, scampering to Greedy and tugging her skirt.
“Big Sister Greedy, you’re great at fighting. Take out those pests for me!”
“My dear Princess, why not let Pride handle it?”
Greedy glanced at Pride, whose brows furrowed, clearly reluctant.
If she hadn’t lost to Greedy, Pride wouldn’t have attended this Tea Party.
But it taught her something.
Witches weren’t inherently evil—they just acted on their whims.
Anyone obstructing them was mercilessly eliminated, leaving humans with the impression of witches as destructive forces.
The four witches present:
Lust Witch Eiffel, a childlike girl, seemed innocent but was extreme.
She spared no one who crossed her, staying in the Sky Garden with Felice unless necessary, absorbing positive human energy for treasures.
Sloth Witch Felice, Eiffel’s devoted maid, was meticulous and gentle.
Despite her title, she was the most diligent, always by Eiffel’s side.
Greedy Witch Ye Rou coveted everything she desired, be it objects or people, claiming them all.
Pride Witch Bai Yao, once a magical girl, had the most kindness among them.
She never harmed others proactively, even sparing those who hurt her out of ignorance.
Each witch had her unique traits, from adorable Lust to aloof Pride.
All stood at the world’s apex.
“Big Sister Pride, will you help me?”
Eiffel clung to Pride’s hand, swinging it, her round face full of coy charm.
It stirred a motherly feeling in Pride, reminding her of Bai Feifei.
“Alright, I’ll handle it.”
“Yay! I knew you’d agree! As a reward, I’ll share a bit of my energy.”
Eiffel raised her crystal orb, a pink thread of energy flowing into Pride.
Pride felt her magic grow—by about three points.
For witches, whose magic peaked at birth, a three-point boost was extraordinary.
Pride re-evaluated the cute girl before her.
Eiffel’s power was likely beyond her current reach.
Among witches, there were gaps.
Lust was the pinnacle; Pride, the bottom.
Eiffel stood on her seat, clapping her hands.
“Alright, the Tea Party’s over!”
“You can leave or stroll the garden. I’m heading back.”
Eiffel darted out of the pavilion to her little castle.
Human world treasures!
Video games, here I come!
Heh heh heh, feel the Lust Witch’s might!
“I’m late!”
“King~~~ Start!”
Felice followed, a doting smile on her face.
“Her Highness still loves video games. Not sure if that’s good or bad.”
As the two witches left, Greedy eyed Pride’s hand, then her thighs.
Damn it !
Why did Her Highness touch my Yao!
My Yao belongs to me alone!
Noticing Greedy’s odd look, Pride snorted and left.
Greedy followed, earning a sharp rebuke.
“Stop following me.”
“…”
Greedy bit her lip, aggrieved, watching Pride vanish into the horizon.
After a while, she murmured, “Yao, you’ll understand my feelings someday.”
…
At school, Little White led Huang Ran and Long Shu to find a new magical girl candidate.
Bai Yao’s retirement weakened their strength.
Finding Iris’s successor was urgent!
“Little White, must we look in high school? Why not university?”
Long Shu felt roasted by the sun, her arms limp, voice half-dead.
“Idiot, high schoolers have a grueling six-to-eleven schedule, unshakable unless forced.”
“University students are fragile—one bump, and they’d break. If they took this responsibility, they’d quit in days.”
Huang Ran answered for Little White.
“Alright, poor juniors.”
Huang Ran and Long Shu were scouted by Little White in their senior year.
Bai Yao was found at a market, apron on, standing out among trading aunties and uncles. Little White picked her instantly.
To care for Bai Feifei, Bai Yao dropped out senior year.
She devoted herself to her sister, holding their family together.
