Chapter 3: Why are you in my house?

Clearly, Lin Xiaoxiao had failed miserably.
Looking at the imposing uncle in front of her, she obediently handed back the phone.

Zhou Ting saw this and continued, “Still want compensation?”

Lin Xiaoxiao shook her head quickly.

“No, no need…”

This guy’s presence was too overwhelming, clearly not someone to mess with.
She decided to let it go…

Zhou Ting looked at her shrinking back, like an ostrich hiding its head.
His initial disdain softened slightly.

“Since that’s the case, give me back my money.”

Lin Xiaoxiao froze, her eyes widening.

“Huh? What?”

Zhou Ting pointed at the wet, crumpled bills in her hand, leaving her speechless.

She returned the money, inwardly cursing, ‘What a stingy guy!’

Zhou Ting took the money back nonchalantly, then, despite her resistance, dragged her to the hospital for a checkup.

In the hospital corridor, the smell of disinfectant lingered.

Zhou Ting looked at the girl sitting quietly on the chair, her eyes heavy with unshakable sorrow.
Something stirred in his usually indifferent heart.

He sat beside her and asked, “You really need money?”

Lin Xiaoxiao paused, lowering her head and murmuring, “Mm.”

Zhou Ting didn’t ask why, just studied the girl before him.

Feeling his gaze, Lin Xiaoxiao looked up.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”

Zhou Ting looked away, saying calmly, “I’ll give you 300,000.”

Lin Xiaoxiao’s heart skipped a beat, her excitement nearly rendering her speechless.

“Really?”

Zhou Ting nodded indifferently.
To him, 300,000 was nothing.

“I can lend you the money, but there’s a condition…”

Lin Xiaoxiao calmed down.
Why would a stranger offer her such a large sum?

Wary, she asked, “What condition?”

Zhou Ting met her eyes, his voice steady.
“Be my mistress.”

Lin Xiaoxiao’s body trembled, doubting her ears.

“What did you say? That’s impossible!”

Until today, she was still a man!
Becoming a mistress to a man old enough to be her father? Absolutely not!

Even as a woman now, she couldn’t imagine being intimate with a man she just met!

Lin Xiaoxiao thought firmly.

She glared at him and stood to leave.

Zhou Ting didn’t care, shrugging as he watched her go.
The condition was a whim, perhaps sparked by her eyes, which reminded him of someone…

Lin Xiaoxiao, furious, arrived at her grandma’s hospital room.
After that ordeal, she didn’t want to return to school and planned to stay by her grandma’s side for the night.

But as she reached the room, the monitors inside suddenly blared an alarm.

Panicking, Lin Xiaoxiao rushed to find a doctor…

Meanwhile, Zhou Ting had just gotten into his car to leave the hospital.

A figure suddenly ran out, blocking his path.

Annoyed, thinking it was another scam, Zhou Ting raised an eyebrow when he recognized her.

“What, trying to scam me again?”

The girl leaned against the car window, panting.

Hearing his words, Lin Xiaoxiao bit her lip and said softly, “I… I agree.”

Zhou Ting paused, looking at the rain-soaked girl and her graceful figure.
He got out, holding an umbrella.

In the VIP ward, thanks to Zhou Ting’s connections, everything was quickly arranged.

Lin Xiaoxiao looked at her now-stabilized grandma, then at the man beside her, a flicker of fear in her heart.

This man was more formidable than she’d imagined…

“Is this your grandma?” Zhou Ting asked outside the room.

Lin Xiaoxiao nodded.
Then, she heard him continue.

“What’s your name?”

Lin Xiaoxiao’s fingers fidgeted nervously.
“Lin… Lin Xiaoxiao…”

Zhou Ting’s tone was calm.
“Since you’ve accepted my help, you know what you need to do, right?”

“I…”

Lin Xiaoxiao’s heart resisted, but reality left her no room to fight.

“I understand.”

In the end, she spoke as if resigning to fate, closing her eyes to hold back tears.

She’d already cried once today.
She wouldn’t cry again…

The next evening, in an upscale neighborhood in Yuncheng.

Zhou Yang returned home after a day out, only to find a stranger in his house.

Looking at the ‘boy’ cleaning the windows, Zhou Yang frowned, then remembered where he’d seen him.

“Why are you in my house?”

Lin Xiaoxiao was equally shocked to see Zhou Yang.

She hadn’t forgotten this guy who stole her girlfriend or his smug attitude from yesterday!

“This is your house?”

Suddenly, a bad feeling crept into Lin Xiaoxiao’s heart.

“What, you think it’s yours?
Spill it—why are you here?”

Zhou Yang had no liking for this effeminate guy, whose face, prettier than a woman’s, always irked him.

Lin Xiaoxiao, too stunned to care, blurted out, “So… Zhou Ting is your dad?”

Zhou Yang grabbed a soda from the fridge, chugging half of it, and said impatiently, “Yeah, so what? You know my dad?”

That shouldn’t be possible.

In his eyes, his dad was at the top of the food chain, while this guy was at the bottom.

Lin Xiaoxiao’s mind was reeling.
She never imagined she’d become the mistress of the father of the guy who stole her girlfriend!

This was beyond absurd, wasn’t it?

“Hey, why are you in my house?
Speak, or I’ll have security throw you out.”

Snapping back, Lin Xiaoxiao scrambled for an excuse amid her chaotic thoughts.
“I… I’m the cleaner your dad hired…”

Zhou Yang paused, then burst out laughing.

“Oh, that’s it?
But isn’t cleaning usually done by aunties? You’re doing this too?”

“Oh, I get it—you need money, right?
Work hard, and my dad won’t shortchange you.”

Since Lin Xiaoxiao’s appearance was already androgynous, even as a woman now, with a little effort, people who knew her would still see her as a man.
