Chapter 33: Weird Campus 2 Classroom
If Fu Ruxue saw this, she’d be furious. Xu Nian always brushed her off, yet indulged a stranger she just met—blatant favoritism.
Xu Nian and the unnamed, beautiful girl wandered the endless corridor, still no end in sight.
Every clue pointed to the “Class 1, Grade 1” classrooms, as if forcing them inside.
Xu Nian gritted her teeth. She refused. What could happen if she didn’t?
The girl tugged her sleeve. “Should we go in?”
“No.”
“But if we don’t…”
“No,” Xu Nian said firmly.
“Alright~ Your call.”
The girl’s eyes curved with a doting smile.
That familiar feeling again.
Xu Nian faltered under her smile, looking away, but ripples stirred in her heart.
She really needed a therapist after this. Her mind was unraveling.
Waiting, she suddenly sensed something off.
The space was shrinking.
The corridor walls closed in, faster and faster, narrowing rapidly.
“Oh no!”
The girl gasped, pressing against Xu Nian’s shoulder, clutching her arm, fingers trembling, gripping her sleeve tightly.
Seeing her fear, Xu Nian said, “Let’s go in.”
She’d be forced inside eventually.
The girl nodded solemnly.
Xu Nian pushed open a classroom door.
Inside, rows of wooden desks sat in pairs, a dark green blackboard at the front.
Above it, red characters read: “Top the Charts, Succeed Instantly”, evoking high school nostalgia.
Five people stood inside, confused. As the door opened, all eyes turned to them.
The pair’s striking looks stunned the group briefly.
Three—a woman and two men—clustered together, clearly acquainted.
The other two stood apart.
A tall, handsome man stepped forward, grinning sheepishly. “Hey, you here for class too?”
“No,” Xu Nian replied.
“I’m Qi Ye, but you can call me Li Jie.”
The woman in the trio asked, “Why?”
“‘Qi’ for enterprise, ‘Ye’ for night, ‘Li’ for understanding, ‘Jie’ for sister.”
Silence. Cringe.
The air froze for half a second.
Thanks to Qi Ye’s awkward icebreaker, the group started talking.
But not Xu Nian. She studied the blackboard, the girl trailing her.
She eyed the schedule posted beside it. Oddly, it listed Friday to Sunday—schools usually closed on weekends.
The ceiling fan creaked eerily.
Xu Nian observed closely, ears tuned to the chatter.
“Where are we?”
“No idea…”
“We three don’t know either…”
“I know.”
A man stepped forward, waving his phone, drawing all eyes.
“Hi, I’m Ran Feng, ranked 250 on the horror leaderboard. Check the app if you want…”
His face glowed with confidence, flashing a self-assured smile.
They pulled out phones, checking the app, reactions mixed.
“I’ve played many horror rule games, so I know the rules well. If you join me, we can find the ‘key’ to open the gate and return to reality.”
Ran Feng smiled warmly.
The others, new players, exchanged glances, clueless but craving reassurance in this strange place.
Ran Feng was their anchor.
“Trust me.”
He nodded, exuding approachability.
The hesitant group shuffled to his side, including Qi Ye, the pun enthusiast.
Xu Nian had no interest in teaming up. She stayed put.
The girl, clutching her hem, stared at her with bright eyes, ignoring Ran Feng.
He looked at them. “Not joining? More people, more power…”
“No need.”
Xu Nian cut him off.
One partner was trouble enough—let alone a crowd.
“Alright… I believe you’ll come around.”
Moved by his own sincerity, Ran Feng sighed.
