Chapter 36: A Rainy Ruin and a Sisterly Surprise

Morning sunlight spilled onto the bed, where Luo Su sprawled like a lazy cat, butt slightly raised, tail lazily tapping the blanket.

“National Day… Jiang Ning’s place…”

Her tail flicked fretfully. Whatever, holidays are boring anyway… going shouldn’t be a big deal…

“That’s settled!”

She poked Hulu’s belly, then hopped up to check her new fridge—hers!

Opening it,

Faint yellow light revealed swirling white mist. “Hmph… iced cola!” She grabbed one, popping the tab with a hiss.

In the morning glow,

Wrapped in her blanket, Luo Su sipped slowly—last night’s feast left her unhungry.

But… iced drinks in autumn? Kinda reckless?

“Ugh…”

She rolled herself into a sushi wrap, only her cola hand peeking out. But school today… she sighed. “If only I could split into two…”

Then someone could go to school for her…

Thinking this, she glanced at her tail—the heart-shaped mark now covered a quarter…

“New skill soon?”

She wagged it excitedly. “Hmph… a clone would be great! Or time-stop…”

Head drooping,

She got more pumped. Novels said so, and no real succubi existed… so she had to guess.

Buttoning her uniform,

She caught her reflection—odd, her male outline seemed blurrier… Her tail poked the mirror, puzzled.

The strangeness vanished.

“Whatever, school first!” She grabbed her bag and ran—research could wait; meeting Teacher Xu was a “jackpot”!

At the school gate, rain poured.

Whoosh—!

A curtain of water cloaked everything, plane trees trembling, flowerbed shrubs huddling pitifully.

Luo Su’s cowlick flattened instantly.

“Wah…”

She hugged herself, tail a soaked mess. Should’ve checked the forecast…

“Phew…”

From the lab building’s corridor to the teaching building, Southern schools were great—no umbrella needed for most spots.

In class,

She shook off water droplets. Why so unlucky today… no bad deeds, right?

“Maybe…”

“Big prize side effects?”

Thinking of the fridge, she puffed her chest, spirits high—mere rain, no biggie.

“…”

Jiang Ning, by the window, caught it all.

Her lips curved—definitely Su Xi, that dorky charm… As Luo Su sat, she leaned in, whispering, “That Luo Su… making you take his classes while he sleeps?”

So unfair…

But she was kinda thrilled.

“?”

Luo Su blinked, tail perking cleverly. “Exactly! So mean!” She slumped, feigning exhaustion. “Mondays are… yawn… the worst…”

Faking a super obvious yawn.

“…” Jiang Ning propped her cheek, pressing, “So tomorrow he comes?”

“Gulp… dunno…”

Luo Su was honest. If she wasn’t exposed tomorrow, she’d stick with “Luo Su” for practicality.

“Alright…”

Jiang Ning poked her textbook glumly. She missed nights—free to touch; in reality, she held back.

Luo Su ducked,

Bad woman definitely plotting something big—curling the book’s pages!

“Luo Su, step out.”

Teacher Xu appeared at the door—odd, first period wasn’t Chinese. The class fell silent, eyes on the lone victim.

“!!!”

Luo Su drooped, racking her brain for this semester’s misdeeds, clueless why Teacher Xu called her…

“What’s up?”

At the classroom door’s blind spot, she asked timidly. The unknown was scariest…

“?” Teacher Xu paused, thinking Luo Su must’ve done something guilty. He sighed, “Nothing big, just your mom called to say…

National Day, your sister’s coming to see you.”

“…” Luo Su blinked innocently, remembering—in her parents’ eyes, she was a “boarding student.”

No phone on Monday, normal.

“Okay.”

She nodded confidently. Hmph, she knew she hadn’t done anything bad… scaring herself.

Teacher Xu waved. “Back you go.”

“Got it!”

No guilt, Luo Su floated. She was always this cheeky.

“What happened?”

Gao Ye blinked—not sympathy, pure gossip and schadenfreude!

“Nothing!”

Luo Su dragged her tone, not telling, hehe, let him squirm. No… not enough. She added, “Just… something about us~”

“??!”

Gao Ye shrank,

Mentally replaying his semester’s “deeds”—sneaking snacks, doodling in books, sticking notes on desks…

“Which one…” he whispered.

“?” Luo Su blinked. Which one? Her meaning? Ha… Gao Ye, so many guilty deeds!

(Using units now!)

“Guess~”

She smirked, returning to her seat, flipping open her Chinese book, ignoring him, leaving Gao Ye’s heart colder than her new AC…

“Hmph…”

Humming, she tapped her book lightly. Pitting her bro was too fun…

“What’d the teacher say?”

Jiang Ning hadn’t planned to ask—Su Xi seemed clueless, likely Luo Su’s fault, making her take the fall.

But now,

Su Xi was in a good mood, piquing her curiosity.

“No biggie~”

Luo Su wiggled her toes, whispering, “Teacher Xu said… my sister’s coming to Pingchang for National Day.”

“Another succubus?” Jiang Ning tilted her head.

The air stilled.

“…” Luo Su paused, forcing out, “Luo Su’s sister, not mine.”

“Awesome~” Jiang Ning beamed. “Su Xi, visit me then—let Luo Su deal with his sister!”

Luo Su: “…”

Help! This is gonna blow her cover!
