Chapter 38: Axe Gun, Lizard Gun, and Various Martial Arts.

After smoothly paying with the Corona Flower branch, Suna watched the smiling manager in the white suit address Jenny and Penny, the fairy shop assistants, with a mix of reassurance and direction.

“Jenny, Penny, you’ll get your share later. Now, take the Saintess to pick two more priestess robes.”

“Okay,” they replied.

Before they could move, Suna waved her hand, stating her choices.

“No need to pick. I’ll take another light-armored priestess robe like this one as a spare, and the mysterious-style robe I first tried on.”

“There should be one more of that knight-style robe in stock. Penny, grab it from the warehouse,” the manager said. He pulled out a card etched with a Golden Bough and a maiden’s silhouette, magically inputting data. “This is our VIP card. I’ve added your three free clothing repair rights. Overlap it with your temple ID, infuse a bit of magic to activate it, and sync your basic info. You can use it at our store, headquarters, or any branch for free repairs on our clothing.”

After his thorough explanation, Suna nodded, took her temple ID, and activated the VIP card as instructed.

Moments later, Penny and Jenny returned, each carrying a packaged clothing box.

Suna tucked them into her enchanted shoulder bag and politely bid farewell.

“Thank you, Manager, for your care. See you next time.”

“As a manager of [Uld’s Weave], I, Nightwalk, look forward to your next visit.”

Suna raised an eyebrow at his self-introduction but didn’t dwell on it, nodding in acknowledgment.

Leaving [Uld’s Weave], Suna, now in her knight-style priestess robe, decided to find a “weapon” to match.

“Hm, a mainstream sword, a dagger, or maybe a pole weapon? A ranged firearm could work too…”

Learning from past haste, Suna didn’t rush to a weapon shop. Instead, she visited a recycling shop, melted her remaining golden relief fragments into unrecognizable gold scraps, sold them, and headed to [Shattered Rock Arm], a weapon shop catering to adventurers.

Her unusual appearance drew glances and murmurs from the shop’s patrons, which she ignored, approaching the counter and listing her needs to the clerk.

“I want three standard two-handed longswords, one heavy flail, one axe-spear, one exorcism water gun, and one lizard-hunter rifle with a hundred standard rounds.”

The clerk’s expression turned odd.

Despite her armored priestess gown, clearly a saintess’s attire, she was ordering gear typical of demon hunters—especially the lizard-hunter rifle, a 30mm single-user weapon for piercing thick-scaled lizard monsters.

Out of concern, the clerk tactfully advised, “Uh, Saintess, some of these weapons might be hard to handle. Maybe reconsider?”

“Thanks, but I know what I’m doing. Please bring them.”

Sighing, the clerk complied, though out of pride for the shop—or perhaps to subtly warn Suna—he chose high-quality but heavier-than-standard weapons.

Suna, unfazed, single-handedly lifted the axe-spear, which the clerk needed both hands to steady, twirled it deftly, and slung it over her shoulder.

“This axe-spear’s weight is perfect. The flail’s nice too. Good recommendations.”

Still holding the axe-spear, she swung the flail a few times.

Using perception magic, she checked the exorcism water gun and lizard-hunter rifle, then addressed payment.

“I’m satisfied. Total comes to… two gold coins, one silver, and five hundred copper, right?”

Quickly calculating from the tags, Suna handed over two gold and two silver coins.

The clerk gave her change, and she stored most weapons in her enchanted bag, keeping one longsword on her belt.

“Alright, bye.”

With that, Suna breezed out.

Behind her, the shop erupted in discussion.

“Did I see that right? A saintess bought a lizard-hunter rifle and swung an axe-spear?”

“A flail and water gun make some sense, but a longsword, axe-spear, and lizard-hunter rifle?”

“Is she really a saintess? Her weapon choices scream demon hunter.”

As a golden-tier, Suna overheard the chatter leaving [Shattered Rock Arm].

[They think I’m a demon hunter? That’s ironic, considering I was hunted by them recently. These weapons aren’t for ordinary foes, though. With the ancient divine factions, especially the Fallen Blood Clan, as enemies, I need targeted gear.]

Musing, Suna decided to brush up on her rusty martial skills to prepare for what lay ahead.
