Chapter 47: Magical girl, come on!

Neither girl had ever dreamed they’d become magical girls in their lifetime.

Feifei Bai stared at the white hexagram in her hand, her excited face flushed.

This was a magical girl’s transformation item!

And it was just handed to her, simple as that!

“Xiaoxiao, come here—let me pinch you to see if I’m dreaming!”

Feifei didn’t wait for Xiaoxiao Ye to react, reaching out to twist her cheek.

“Ow!”

Xiaoxiao yelped, clutching her face and glaring at Feifei.

“Why not pinch yourself?”

Xiaoxiao grimaced in pain, but Feifei was pleased with her reaction.

This proved it was real!

She’d really become a magical girl!

From now on, she’d shoulder the duty of protecting the city and everyone in it!

“Xiaoxiao, you don’t get it. Pinching you doesn’t hurt me, but pinching myself would.”

“…”

Xiaoxiao was speechless, briefly tempted to strangle Feifei.

So Feifei knew pinching hurt!

Damn it (〃>皿<)!

If Feifei hadn’t covered all her expenses today, Xiaoxiao would’ve raised her fist to deliver a “friendly life lesson” to Feifei’s head.

“Feifei, watch where you’re going!”

“Oops.”

Feifei, engrossed in the transformation item, walked with her head down and didn’t notice two people approaching.

A man and a woman, dressed in bizarre outfits.

In anime terms, COSPLAY costumes.

The man was hefty, his flab jiggling with each step, like a wobbling meat tower.

The woman was slender, with dark, villainous makeup, her long legs bare, catching Feifei’s eye.

“Sorry, my friend’s eyes aren’t great—she didn’t wear her glasses today.”

Xiaoxiao quickly pulled Feifei aside, apologizing.

“Cute little sister, no worries. Just watch the road next time, okay?”

The woman smiled, unbothered, and left with the man.

“Feifei, what are you staring at!”

Xiaoxiao couldn’t take it, jumping up to smack Feifei’s forehead.

Not only did she bump into someone, but she also gawked at the woman’s legs instead of apologizing.

“What’s wrong with looking? They didn’t say anything, but you’re nagging and hitting me!”

Feifei pouted, thoroughly annoyed, deciding to stop covering Xiaoxiao’s expenses.

“I…”

Before Xiaoxiao could argue back, a crowd surged from a nearby building.

Amid the chaos, cries of “fear” rang out.

“Pollutant! There’s a pollutant!”

“Run!”

“Run fast, or you’re in front!”

“…”

Among the panicked voices, one stood out as oddly out of place.

This guy’s been playing too many video games, huh?

The girls set aside their spat, exchanging a glance, both seeing determination in the other’s eyes.

This might be their first battle as magical girls!

“Xiaoxiao.”

“Feifei.”

They nodded, ready to leap into action and save the day.

They darted into a dark, empty alley nearby.

“Pure and flawless Iris, heed my call—let holy light bloom within me!”

“Dreamy and illusory Pansy, heed my call—make dreams reality!”

Two different lights flashed, and two magical girls emerged.

One in pure white, wearing a small dress, holding a parasol.

The other in a dreamy, multicolored robe, a pointed witch hat, and a tricolor staff.

Magical Girl Iris, reporting!

Magical Girl Pansy, reporting!

“Xia—er, Pansy, you evacuate the crowd. I’ll check inside.”

“Okay, be careful.”

Their roles were clear: Iris excelled in offense and defense, a balanced magical girl.

Pansy specialized in disorienting foes with illusions, less suited for direct combat, a support-type magical girl.

“Don’t panic, everyone—evacuate orderly! We’ll handle the pollutant!”

Pansy managed the crowd.

In the chaos, falls and trampling were likely, so Pansy helped people up to prevent injuries.

Inside the building, on the fourth floor’s children’s mall.

A drooling, three-eyed, four-meter-long, two-meter-tall black wolf-like pollutant was wreaking havoc.

Blood and flesh littered the chaotic floor, making Iris’s stomach churn—disgusting.

The sharp stench of blood made Iris frown slightly.

The massive pollutant loomed with overwhelming presence, and she felt afraid.

She’d just become a magical girl, only familiar with transformation and basic weapon use.

She hadn’t mastered her magic or abilities yet.

Could she really defeat this pollutant?

No! She just had to hold it off!

Iris took a deep breath, steeling her resolve.

If she could stall it until Pansy arrived, they’d take it down together!

The pollutant let out a low growl, its three blood-red eyes fixed on Iris.

In the next second, it lunged like an arrow from a bow.

So fast, Iris only saw a blur!

Unable to react, she raised her parasol to block.

The pollutant’s claws slammed into the parasol, denting it.

The force traveled through the handle, hitting Iris.

Boom!

The blow sent Iris crashing through the fourth-floor wall, landing messily on a car roof below.

The roof caved in.

Ignoring the damage, Iris folded her parasol, channeling magic upward.

Boom!

A magic blast fired, hitting the pollutant leaping from above.

Iris’s heart leapt with joy, but her smile froze.

Her magic blast did nothing!

A massive shadow loomed, and she tried to raise her parasol again, but it was too late.

As the giant claw descended, Pansy—in red, yellow, and blue—rushed from three directions to block it.

Bang!

The pollutant’s strength was beyond imagination, cracking the ground, forcing Pansy to her knees, blood trickling from her mouth.

“Hit its eyes!”

Pansy’s shout snapped Iris out of her daze.

Iris fired a magic blast at the center of the pollutant’s three eyes.

The shot injured all three, blinding it.

“Awoo!”
