Chapter 5: If you don’t post dog food, you’ll get arrested!

The moment Liuxia let out that sound, Li Chunsheng immediately realized his actions had been far too improper.

“Damn! What an idiot I am! Listening to instincts and impulses? Senior is a man—he must absolutely hate what I just did!” Li Chunsheng instantly felt deep regret. Putting himself in his senior’s shoes: how would he feel?

He was about to let go and loosened his grip a little, only to hear Liuxia whisper with flushed ears and a trembling voice: “Don’t let go… keep going!”

“???” Li Chunsheng’s mind nearly exploded. What the hell was going on?

Why had Senior suddenly wanted to pretend to be a couple? And after he’d done something so rude, why insist on continuing?

Did I really transmigrate to a normal world? This wouldn’t be some weird story, would it? One of those gender-bender ones.

Li Chunsheng couldn’t think straight anymore, so he simply obeyed his senior and continued the earlier motions.

For a moment, the air fell silent, broken only by Liuxia’s gradually unsteady breathing.

He had to admit—though his brain knew Senior Liuxia was a man, the sensation in his hands was simply too good.

On Liuxia’s side, though the feelings on her body were extremely strange, she gritted her teeth and endured.

Only because she could hear Investigator Liao’s footsteps drawing closer. Soon after, even Li Chunsheng could sense someone approaching.

A look of realization appeared on Li Chunsheng’s face. He instinctively pulled Liuxia’s clothes tighter, covering every bit of skin except her face.

Soon, Investigator Liao’s figure came into view. When he saw the two embracing, his truth-seeking expression instantly turned into one he could barely keep composed.

With his sharp eyes, the lingering blush on both their faces clearly told him that just moments ago, this young couple had been lost in passionate affection.

“Aren’t you two a little too wild? If you’re going to be all lovey-dovey, shouldn’t you close the door? Doing it with the door wide open…” Investigator Liao grumbled inwardly: “Well… a guy who’d let his girlfriend go out dressed like that probably isn’t all that proper anyway.”

Swallowing hard, he said with an awkward laugh: “Uh, uh… sorry, maybe I came at a bad time.”

Li Chunsheng replied with a dark expression: “Investigator sir, you’re aware this is a bad time…” Naturally, he had no good face for the man chasing his senior.

Moreover, it was because of this investigator that he had just done something so improper to Senior! Even if Senior said it was fine, he could hardly forgive himself!

For a moment, Li Chunsheng actually overcame the usual civilian fear of temple personnel and stood unusually firm.

Liuxia was Li Chunsheng’s senior from the orphanage, but they truly got to know each other after he started elementary school, so he habitually called her “Senior.”

To Li Chunsheng, Senior Liuxia—who had always looked after him—was one of the people he respected most.

Investigator Liao, meanwhile, was secretly startled. Seeing Li Chunsheng’s arrogant, superior expression and the reckless left hand that didn’t stop even in front of an outsider.

It had been a long time since he’d encountered a civilian bold enough to act this way toward him.

After all, aside from nobles and high-ranking holy knights, ordinary civilians either bowed and scraped or trembled like mice before a cat when facing an investigator.

To most people, temple investigators were the closest thing to holy knights—usually backed by them.

And holy knights meant wealth and power, far beyond what commoners could provoke.

“Could it be…” A guess faintly formed in Investigator Liao’s mind.

He turned his gaze to Li Chunsheng’s face and found it quite handsome—more than quite, actually.

This meant Li Chunsheng’s parents must also have had exceptionally high looks. In this world, appearance often indicated social class.

Among women, higher beauty usually meant higher blessing rank. Children born from marriages with such women would inherit higher looks.

Countless clues now converged in Investigator Liao’s mind.

Li Chunsheng’s handsome face, his fearless attitude, his companion Liuxia’s heaven-defying beauty, and their extremely unconventional “play”…

Everything pointed to one thing: this Li Chunsheng’s background was anything but simple! Very likely a high-class male with sky-high 【Gold Content】.

Then everything he had suspected earlier made sense—probably just two upper-class young lovers coming to a cheap apartment to experience “poor people’s lives.”

In that instant, Investigator Liao completely dismissed his suspicions about Liuxia.

“Damn rich people are the worst! Girlfriend that beautiful, life that exciting—I, an ordinary guy, can’t even imagine it!” he grumbled inwardly.

“Heh heh, sorry! I didn’t see anything! Carry on, carry on!”

With a friendly smile, Investigator Liao waved and left the area.

He even abandoned the questioning he had originally planned.

Joking aside—though he was somebody among ordinary people, before true big shots he was nothing! No need to risk his position chasing procedural justice.

Li Chunsheng watched until Investigator Liao completely vanished from sight, then let out a soft breath. Holding Liuxia, he entered the room, firmly closed the door, and locked it.

“Senior, that investigator is gone…” Li Chunsheng lowered his head and whispered near Liuxia’s bright-red ear: “You don’t have to hold on so tight anymore…”

“Ah! Ahh! Right!” Only then did Liuxia seem to snap awake, leaping out of his embrace.

She looked as if she had been lost in a daze for quite some time.

Now Li Chunsheng could finally see her clearly. His senior, now in a girl’s form, had flushed pink skin everywhere exposed—like a steamed lobster.

After leaving his arms, Liuxia breathed deeply, clearly trying to calm both body and heart.

Seeing her like that, Li Chunsheng’s heart filled with guilt.

He had gotten a bit too into it earlier—even while speaking to the investigator, he hadn’t stopped his hands.

“Sor…” Li Chunsheng bowed deeply, about to apologize, when a hearty voice rang out.

“You hugged great!”

“Huh?” Li Chunsheng looked up in confusion, only to see Liuxia’s beautiful eyes sparkling at him, one thumb raised in clear approval.

“Chunsheng, as expected of you!”

“Huh?” Li Chunsheng tilted his head, making a bewildered cat-like sound.

“Chunsheng, you really are the brother I, Liuxia, chose! Perfect coordination aside…” Liuxia showed a refreshed expression, completely different from her earlier shy demeanor: “You’re incredibly smart too!”

As she praised, she explained: “The move you came up with just now—even someone as close to you as me never imagined you’d do that!”

Liuxia’s face reddened slightly: “Knowing full well it’s a man in front of you, yet still making such… such lewd moves…”

Stop, please stop—are you really praising me? Li Chunsheng covered his face, wishing the floor would swallow him.

“So just think—how could the investigator ever imagine it? Could he picture someone doing that to a former man who’d also been a goblin?”

Why? Why does this praise hurt so much? Li Chunsheng stared blankly.

“That’s why it perfectly cleared my suspicion and greatly increased the chance he’d see me as truly female.”

Liuxia changed tack and continued admiringly: “And your follow-up performance was a stroke of genius!”

“Facing the investigator with neither humility nor arrogance—even a hint of pride. That made him unable to gauge your status and discouraged any questioning he might have done.”

“In that situation, the more he asked, the higher the chance we’d slip up.”

Liuxia’s lips curved slightly as she looked proudly at Li Chunsheng: “I’m right, aren’t I, Chunsheng? That was your plan all along!”

Li Chunsheng opened his mouth, hesitated, then closed it again. Seeing her proud little expression, he—as her junior—couldn’t bear to burst her bubble…

“Looks like Senior didn’t think that far at all~ I was the one overthinking…”

In this atmosphere, he also felt too awkward to apologize for earlier.

So Li Chunsheng forced a bright smile, raised his thumb, and laughed: “As expected, Senior really understands me!”

“Exactly!”

“Hahahaha—!” In the small rental room, the two brothers slapped each other’s shoulders and burst into loud laughter.

“What are you making noise for in the middle of the night?!” The neighbor pounded the wall hard.

The two instantly fell silent, then exchanged a glance and smiled.

“Right—” Li Chunsheng suddenly remembered something and started to speak with a grin…

Only to see Liuxia’s face change as she jumped far away from him.

“W-What…?” The girl’s voice trembled slightly.

“?”
