Chapter 51: What a blast.
Lu Zhao ended up on Yu Baiwei’s bed, but…
“You, sleep on the floor.”
“What?…” Yu Baiwei’s face was full of reluctance.
Kidding aside, no one understands men better than someone who’s been one… or maybe not exactly.
Anyway, Lu Zhao knew exactly what Yu Baiwei was fantasizing about and wasn’t giving her a chance.
Sure, if she forced it, he couldn’t resist, but she didn’t have the guts.
Threats or her elite persona at school aside, Lu Zhao saw through her—she was just a lazy, sloppy, drunken otaku at heart.
She might do something reckless in a moment of passion, but most of the time, she was… kind of a coward.
“Fine, fine, I really won’t do anything. You don’t trust me? That hurts,” she said, feigning sadness.
Lu Zhao ignored her, rolling over to face away.
Yu Baiwei glanced at his back, then lay down too.
“Miss Yu, do you all sleep with the lights on?” Lu Zhao suddenly asked.
“Oh, forgot. Little Lotus, turn off the light.”
At her command, the room went dark.
“Little Lotus?”
“Yeah, my family’s product.”
“Your family makes smart appliances?”
“We sell phones.”
Lu Zhao didn’t dare ask more—why did that sound so familiar?
Buzz buzz.
His phone vibrated. It was a message from Yan Qingxin.
Baby, what’re you doing?
Nothing, thinking of you.
In her dorm bed, Yan Qingxin rubbed her legs together, licking her lips.
Baby, you’ve gone bad, saying stuff like that.
Not lying, really thinking of you.
Once said, no taking it back.
You at Aunt Yu’s?
Lu Zhao blinked—obviously.
Yeah, and guess where I am?
Where! Almost instant reply.
He waited a few seconds.
On your Aunt Yu’s bed.
This time, it took Yan Qingxin minutes to respond.
Baby, you can’t… can’t with Aunt Yu. You’re mine!
Lu Zhao smiled—he’d done it on purpose.
Kidding. That’s what you get for lending me out so casually. Now you’re scared? I’m on her bed, but it’s just me.
He waited for her reply, but none came.
Feeling sleepy, he dozed off.
At six-something the next morning, Lu Zhao woke and checked his phone, still on the chat screen.
She’d replied an hour later.
There was a withdrawn message, then her new one:
Hmph! I knew you wouldn’t do that.
Why’d she take so long to reply?
And what did she withdraw?
He thought about it but couldn’t figure it out.
Stretching, he got up to wash, then remembered this wasn’t his place.
He went to wake Yu Baiwei.
Her sleeping posture was, as expected, wild.
The blanket was more like a body pillow, clutched tightly by her long legs, her bathrobe hiked up, revealing…
“What’s with these habits? Do none of them wear anything?”
He couldn’t help but think of another woman who went commando.
It’d been a while since he’d seen her.
Good thing, right? That lesson must’ve worked.
Forcing his eyes away from that area, he crouched by her upper body, shaking her shoulder.
“Miss Yu, wake up. It’s morning.”
Yu Baiwei smacked her lips, mumbling, “Don’t bug me, let me sleep more.”
She tried to roll over, but Lu Zhao, not noticing, stepped on the blanket she was clutching.
Feeling resistance, she yanked harder.
“Hey! Whoa—”
Lu Zhao lost his balance, falling to the floor, staring at Yu Baiwei’s back, her bathrobe now even higher.
He’d once mentally compared her legs to others’—hers were the longest and prettiest he’d seen.
And the part matching those legs was, predictably, perfectly round and perky.
It was summer, and Bin City’s weather was kind—a sunny day.
Sunlight streamed in, reflecting off her pale skin, almost blinding.
In this moment, Lu Zhao decided to act.
Slap! The sound of flesh meeting flesh echoed.
“Still sleeping? The sun’s on your butt!”
“Mm!”
The heavy smack jolted Yu Baiwei awake, and she shot up, sitting on the bed.
Her eyes were dazed, her body reacting faster than her half-booted brain.
“Hey, Miss Yu, you awake?”
He waved a hand in front of her face, the other behind his back, clenching—it stung, but damn, the feel was good.
“Mm… awake, awake, ouch…” She winced, rubbing the spot he’d slapped.
“What happened? Who hit my butt?”
“There was a mosquito. I got it for you.”
“Oh, thanks.”
In another world, that contact would be a no-go, but here? She had to thank him.
Awake, Yu Baiwei led him to the bathroom.
The door was somehow already unlocked.
They dressed and went downstairs, spotting Yu’s mother doing morning exercises.
Seeing Yu Baiwei up so early, she looked surprised, then smiled at Lu Zhao.
Her expression screamed “mother-in-law eyeing her son-in-law,” giving him a bad feeling.
Sure enough, at breakfast, it came true.
“Xiao Lu, do you have a girlfriend?” Yu’s mother asked.
Lu Zhao and Yu Baiwei exchanged a glance.
“I do, Aunt Yu,” he said.
Hearing this, Yu Mulian shot a strange look at Yu’s father beside her.
Yu’s father just kept eating quietly.
Lu Zhao’s mouth twitched.
No way, this similar too?
“If you do…” Yu Mulian’s gaze swept over Lu Zhao and Yu Baiwei, landing on Liu Yu.
“No big deal. You can bring her over later.”
“Pfft—”
Lu Zhao choked, spraying porridge, coughing violently.
Yu Baiwei’s jaw dropped, staring in disbelief at her parents and… the aunt who’d raised her, practically a second mother.
A maid rushed to wipe the white porridge from Lu Zhao’s mouth.
Too shocked to refuse, one thought filled his mind:
Rich people sure know how to play wild!
