Chapter 54: Going to Su Mansion and Arriving at Su Mansion

“What do you mean?”

Luo Dingchuan stared at the fruit, his brows tightly furrowed.

“It’s for you,” Luo Yan said. “Didn’t you always say our branch needs a true pillar? Now, I’m giving you one.”

Luo Dingchuan’s face hardened. “Put it away. I don’t need your charity.”

Luo Yan’s expression didn’t change, but his tone lowered. “If you don’t take it, I’ll destroy it right now.”

He raised his hand, spiritual energy surging, as if ready to crush the box’s contents.

“You—!” Luo Dingchuan’s fingers trembled, but he finally snatched the box, tucking it into his robe.

The two stood in silence, neither speaking.

After a long while, Luo Yan bowed. “I’ll take my leave.”

Without lingering, he turned and left.

His footsteps faded outside the courtyard.

Luo Dingchuan gazed at the direction of his retreating figure, his hand slowly clenching, before letting out a low sigh: “Foolish boy…”

The scene shifted.

Outside the Luo Residence.

Luo Jiutian stood on the stone steps, his gaze settling on Su Wan’er as she approached slowly.

Her cultivation had stabilized at early Golden Core, showing no signs of regressing.

It seemed the Tempering Origin Persimmon had worked well.

“Got everything packed? Check again,” he said calmly.

Su Wan’er, who was fiddling with her storage bag as she walked, paused.

Then she grinned, stepping closer and playfully patting him down.

“What are you doing?” Luo Jiutian raised a brow.

“Didn’t you say to check?” she said earnestly.

Luo Jiutian: “…”

So I’m an item now?

He couldn’t be bothered to retort.

“Let’s go.”

“Alright, Nine Heavens Brother~”

Some time later.

Su Residence, a courtyard.

A middle-aged woman strolled among the flowerbeds.

She had a graceful figure and refined manners, but her eyes were covered by a white cloth. Despite her cultivation, her aura was unsteady.

This was Su Wan’er’s adoptive mother, Wang Ruolan.

“Godmother!”

A lively voice called from outside, followed by hurried footsteps.

Wang Ruolan paused, turning toward the sound.

Multiple sets of footsteps approached the courtyard gate.

“It’s Wan’er.” Wang Ruolan smiled.

The next moment, Su Wan’er rushed forward, throwing herself into her arms.

Wang Ruolan staggered but didn’t push her away, instead hugging her tightly.

“You silly girl…” She stroked Su Wan’er’s hair. “Why’d you come back so suddenly without a word?”

Su Wan’er clung to her, smiling sweetly. “I just missed you.”

Wang Ruolan’s lips curved, then she turned. “And who’s this beside you?”

Su Wan’er let go, tugging the person next to her. “Godmother, remember my Nine Heavens Brother I told you about? This is him!”

Wang Ruolan paused, then laughed. “So this is the fiancé you’re always going on about.”

Luo Jiutian smiled. “Greetings, Aunt Wang.”

Wang Ruolan nodded, smiling. “Not bad. I can sense from your aura alone—you’re no ordinary person.”

“You flatter me, Aunt Wang,” he said, bowing.

“My Wan’er loves talking my ear off about you,” Wang Ruolan said, her smile warm. “Now that I’ve met you, I can rest easy.”

Su Wan’er grabbed her arm, eyes sparkling. “Godmother, I came back with a surprise for you.”

Wang Ruolan chuckled. “What surprise?”

Su Wan’er didn’t answer right away, instead leading her to a nearby bench, carefully helping her sit.

“What’s with the rush, you silly girl?” Wang Ruolan said, amused.

“It’s a big deal for you,” Su Wan’er said, lowering her voice.

“Oh? What kind of big deal could you bring me?” Wang Ruolan teased.

Su Wan’er glanced at Luo Jiutian without answering.

He understood, stepping forward. “Aunt Wang, I have a way to heal your eyes.”

Silence.

The courtyard fell still.

Wang Ruolan froze, barely believing her ears.

“What… did you say?” she asked hesitantly.

Luo Jiutian repeated calmly, “I have a way to heal your eyes.”

He produced a dark stone covered in cracks.

Wang Ruolan’s expression tightened.

Though blind, she could faintly sense the stone’s energy.

After a moment’s hesitation, she asked softly, “This is… a Calamity-Breaking Stone?”

“Correct,” Luo Jiutian nodded.

Wang Ruolan was stunned.

She’d heard of the Calamity-Breaking Stone.

When activated with spiritual energy, it could absorb poisons, curses, and other impurities, far surpassing ordinary detoxification methods.

But she also knew such stones had nearly vanished years ago.

Records said the few remaining were either hoarded by major powers or lost to time, impossible to obtain.

Restoring her sight had become a pipe dream.

Yet now, a Calamity-Breaking Stone was before her.

“Where… did you get this?” Her voice was hoarse as she finally asked.

“By chance,” Luo Jiutian said calmly.

Wang Ruolan fell silent for a long time before asking, “What’s the price?”

“Nothing,” he replied directly.

“No.” She shook her head. “A treasure like this—you wouldn’t offer it for free. I don’t believe it.”

Seeing her doubt, he rephrased, “Aunt Wang, this stone can not only heal your eyes but also restore your cultivation. You know this, right?”

She nodded.

“I heard you were once at peak Golden Core, capable of fighting early Nascent Soul cultivators,” he continued. “In the Su Clan, aside from the Clan Head, the strongest is Great Elder Su Huaizhang, also early Nascent Soul. If you regain your strength, wouldn’t Wan’er have more influence in the clan?”

Wang Ruolan nodded again.

“Don’t you want to be her true support?”

“Of course.”

“Then there you go.”

Wang Ruolan was thrown off by his logic but, with her experience, quickly caught on and laughed. “You sly boy, you almost had me there.”

“Godmother,” Su Wan’er said earnestly, holding her hand, “just listen to Nine Heavens Brother. He brought this back just for you.”

“Exactly,” Luo Jiutian added. “If you feel indebted, we can talk compensation later.”

The two worked in tandem, and Wang Ruolan couldn’t resist, sighing softly. “You two… fine, I give in.”

“Aunt Wang, sit still, don’t move.”

Luo Jiutian held the Calamity-Breaking Stone, channeling spiritual energy into it…
