Chapter 59: Donβt talk on the phone…
In the end, he didnβt lock the door.
No way around itβold habits die hard.
Even with a girl suddenly moving in, he couldnβt just change his routine overnight.
After a shower, Meng Zhi went back to his room, played a couple of games, and felt exhausted after just one or two rounds.
He shut off the computer, flopped onto the bed, and started scrolling through his phone.
The next room had gone quiet. Feng Xiyue was probably asleep.
It was 12:30 a.m., prime time for the QQ gaming groups he was in.
People were spamming all sorts of spicy imagesβanime, cosplay, stockings, lolita girls with exaggerated curves, every fetish covered.
He casually clicked on a couple, but soon enough, the groupβs images had him worked up.
ββ¦Come to think of it, maybe itβs because this lifeβs been too chill.β
In past lives, he never felt his urges were this strong.
Or maybe it was because he was always too busy to notice before he had to βpay the toll.β
Either way, in this life, Meng Zhi felt like he was indulging more often.
If he went too long without, heβd get sensitive, and a single spicy image could set him off.
Or maybe it was because Feng Xiyue, that little temptress, was always prancing around, trying to mess with his head.
What could he do? Guys are like that.
A guy who wasnβt a little pervy would be the weird one, right?
No point fighting it. Time to take care of business.
Just as Meng Zhi was picking his βside dish,β the door suddenly burst open.
Feng Xiyue, in cartoon pajamas, strolled in casually.
βBrother Meng Zhi, can you help me with these problemsββ
βKnock before you barge into someoneβs room!!!β
Seeing Meng Zhi angrily yank the blanket over himself, Feng Xiyue froze, then pouted sulkily.
ββ¦Youβre so weird.β
βYou donβt want to do anything with me, but then you sneak off to your room to take care of yourself. Youβve got a gorgeous little sister right next door, and youβre ignoring her. Whatβs going through your head?β
βIs it possibleβ¦β
βThat this is how a normal person thinks?β
βAre you done? If youβve got nothing else, get out and stop bothering me!β
Feng Xiyue glanced at his blanket, sniffing dismissively.
βHmph. All talk.β
βIβll leave if you want, but your mathβs pretty good, right? Teach me these problems first.β
Math? Now?
Itβs past midnight!
βNo choice.β
Feng Xiyueβs cheeks flushed with a hint of embarrassment, her eyes dodging his.
βIβve got work and band practice during the day.β
Meng Zhi blinked.
This girl was really serious about self-studying.
ββ¦Fine, letβs make this quick.β
With no other option, Meng Zhi sat up, scratching his head.
βShow me the problems.β
βItβs the classic derivative questions. I can never score well on these in practice testsβ¦β
Feng Xiyue sat beside him with her study materials and notebook.
She wore only a light pink cartoon pajama set, her hair carrying the faint scent of shampoo.
Her collar was slightly open, revealing her fair collarbone.
Her perky chest made it clear she wasnβt wearing anything underneath.
Though Meng Zhi tried hard to focus on her questions, his eyes kept drifting.
ββ¦Hey.β
He snapped back to reality, only to meet Feng Xiyueβs predatory gaze.
βIf you canβt focus, want me to help youβ¦ let off some steam first?β
βYouβre imagining things.β
Meng Zhi coughed, grabbing a pen to jot down solutions.
βIf you donβt know where to start with derivatives, try thisβ¦β
He wasnβt the best teacher, but he explained in a way Feng Xiyue could follow.
She wasnβt dumb. Soon enough, she caught on, lying on the bed, scribbling calculations.
Taking the chance, Meng Zhi grabbed his phone, hoping to watch some gaming videos to distract himself.
But then, a WeChat call came in.
It was Chen Xinya.
βHey, Meng Zhi, youβre still up, right? Not disturbing you this late?β
βNah, Iβm up. Whatβs up?β
At Chen Xinyaβs voice, Feng Xiyue, whoβd been focused on her work, perked up her ears.
βItβs about meeting tomorrow. If weβre going back to our old school, the security wonβt let us in without a teacherβs referral, right? Since itβs summer break, I was thinking about which teacher to askβ¦β
βCouldnβt you just text me about this? Why call?β
βWellβ¦ I kinda wanted to hear your voice.β
Chen Xinyaβs tone was shy over the phone.
ββ¦Tch, sneaky green tea.β
Feng Xiyue rolled her eyes, unimpressed.
But remembering the photo incident from that morning, a spark of vengeance lit up.
She suddenly had a brilliant idea to get back at her.
βThe biology teacher would work. Old Li was the grade director, and he got along well with the guysβhiss!β
Meng Zhi sucked in a breath, glaring at Feng Xiyue.
She pretended nothing was up, diligently working on her math.
But her other hand had, at some point, slipped silently under Meng Zhiβs blanket.
βWhatβs wrong?β Chen Xinyaβs concerned voice came through.
βOh, n-nothing.β
Meng Zhi forced a smile, shoving Feng Xiyueβs hand away.
βClipped my nail too short, hit the skin.β
βOuch, that must hurt. Is it bleeding? Got any Band-Aids at home?β
βItβs fine, no blood, justβhiss.β
Meng Zhi looked down.
The hand heβd pushed away was now held by Feng Xiyue, her cherry lips gently wrapped around his finger.
The soft, wet sensation of her tongue gliding over his skin sent goosebumps racing across his body.
βThat bad?β
Chen Xinyaβs voice grew more worried.
βWant me to come over? Iβve got a first-aid kit at homeβiodine, alcohol, cotton swabs. I can helpββ
βNo, no, Iβm good.β
Meng Zhi yanked his hand back, glaring at the snickering Feng Xiyue.
βYou get some rest. See you tomorrow.β
βOkayβ¦ you rest early too.β
After hanging up, Chen Xinya stared at her phone, lost in thought.
βIs Meng Zhi okay? Whyβd he sound so weird?β
As she puzzled over it, a photo from Feng Xiyue popped up.
In it, Feng Xiyue, in pajamas, was sprawled ambiguously across Meng Zhiβs lap, her lips lightly biting his finger.
She even threw up a peace sign at the camera.
ββ¦Huh?β
