Chapter 6: I am just an ordinary sister

“Rose, don’t be reckless, come back!”
Jasmine reached out to pull Rose back, but it was too late.
She had already rushed forward!
“Witch, die!”
Regaining control of her body, Rose immediately attacked Pride Witch.
Her finger pulled the trigger, a magical bullet shooting toward Pride Witch’s forehead.
Sensing the magical fluctuation, Pride Witch tilted her head slightly, easily dodging the shot.
The bullet pierced her long hair, knocking loose a few strands.
“The theater ended so perfectly, so why is my little actor misbehaving?”
“Didn’t I already make you the star?”
Pride Witch was a bit angry, taking a step forward.
In an instant, she appeared before Rose, leaning close to her ear.
“Disobedient actors should be punished.”
Rose felt a sharp pain in her abdomen; the next moment, she was sent crashing upward, smashing straight into the lightning-flickering clouds.
“Rose!”
“That punch was a small lesson for a disobedient actor. Next time, it won’t be just a punch.”
Pride Witch rubbed her wrist lightly, her emotionless eyes turning to Jasmine.
The look filled Jasmine with immense pressure—she couldn’t see a trace of emotion on the witch’s face!
This witch before her seemed like an emotionless puppet.
Jasmine didn’t move, a droplet falling between her brows.
Drenched in the storm, she couldn’t tell if it was sweat or rain.
But she knew that any reckless move would surely get her killed by this witch!
People without emotions hold no hope for the world.
They care for no one, nothing.
Acting on whims, they often bring unimaginable disasters.
“The theater has ended, my actors. You may rest now.”
Pride Witch didn’t trouble Jasmine further, turning into a blaze of flames, her figure fading into petals as the flames dissipated.
The witch vanished with the falling petals in the storm.
In the distant sky, a crimson figure plummeted rapidly.
Jasmine hurriedly flew to where Rose was falling, catching her steadily.
Soon after, Rose’s magical outfit began to fade.
“This is a witch? Rose was hit so hard she’s starting to destabilize.”
Jasmine murmured, carrying Rose to a safe spot.
The crisis over, people began scattering to escape.
In the storm, they sought their own places of refuge.
Elsewhere, Bai Yao released her transformation, her left hand bracing against a wall, her right clutching her chest.
The magical ring still adorned her left ring finger—the key to summoning “Pride.”
Bai Yao shifted her gaze from the ring, reflecting on what had just happened.
What had she done?!
She knew Jasmine and Rose were her closest friends, yet she still acted against them!
She didn’t want to, but seeing the magical girls stirred inexplicable emotions within her.
She wanted to do something to them.
If she hadn’t left quickly after the curtain fell, she feared she might have done something unforgivable.
After transforming into a witch, Bai Yao’s personality changed drastically.
Not only did she become indifferent, but she also treated everything around her as playthings for her puppet theater.
“The side effects of becoming a witch are too great. I shouldn’t use this power again. I’ll just live quietly as an ordinary girl with my sister.”
Bai Yao made up her mind. Since she was no longer a magical girl, she’d let things take their course.
From now on, she’d have nothing to do with pollution entities.
She was no longer the pure and flawless Iris, nor the indifferent and illusory Pride Witch.
She was just an ordinary girl, a sister who needed to care for her younger sibling.
Bai Yao took a few deep breaths, letting her guilt toward everyone fade.
This matter would stay buried in her heart forever.
“Jasmine, Rose, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do this to you. Please forgive me.”
Bai Yao whispered, running through the storm toward home.
She reached home by evening.
The storm made the evening especially dim.
Through the window, Bai Yao could see white light.
“Oh no, my sister’s already home.”
Bai Yao looked at her drenched self, unsure how to explain to her sister.
Could she say she transformed into a witch everyone despised, controlling two magical girls to defeat a pollution entity?
No, no, no!
That could never be said, or the whole world would shun her!
She wasn’t a witch!
“Phew~”
Taking a deep breath, Bai Yao reached the front door.
She fumbled around, found her key, and opened the door.
As the door slowly opened, she planned to sneak in and change into dry clothes.
But an excited voice filled the entire living room.
“Sis!”
A petite figure launched toward Bai Yao, forcing her to fully open the door.
Otherwise, her sister would crash into it.
Bai Feifei threw herself into Bai Yao’s arms, burying her little face in her sister’s chest, taking a deep breath and letting out a delighted sound.
“Ah~ Sister energy recharged~”
Bai Yao’s mouth twitched. Every day when she came home, Bai Feifei pulled this stunt.
Anyone unaware might think they were in some forbidden romance!
“Alright, I’m not a cat. One sniff is enough. I’m going to change.”
Bai Yao pushed Bai Feifei away, stopping her sister-obsessed sibling from draining more “sister energy.”
“Sis, I’m coming too!”
Bai Feifei giggled, bouncing after her, her little schemes written all over her face.
Dealing with Bai Feifei, Bai Yao, as the older sister, had her methods.
No student could resist this one line.
“Have you finished your homework?”
“Hmph ╭(╯^╰)╮, I went to school all day, and now that I’m finally home, I just want to cuddle and hug my sister. I’m not doing homework!”
“No homework? Getting bold enough to tear the roof off, huh?”
Bai Yao expertly grabbed a feather duster nearby and swung it at Bai Feifei’s backside.
Swish, swish, swish!
The feather duster made a whooshing sound.
“Ow, ow, ow! Sis, stop hitting, I was wrong!”
Bai Feifei clutched her backside, yelling.
Despite the loud sound of the duster, only the first swing actually hit Bai Feifei.
The rest missed.
Bai Yao couldn’t bear to really hit her; the first strike was just to teach her mischievous sister a small lesson to behave.
“Since you know you’re wrong, I’ll let it slide this time.”
Bai Yao smoothly returned the duster to its place, not giving Bai Feifei a chance to follow, and quickly changed into a nightdress in her room.
To avoid Bai Feifei’s questions about why she came home soaked, she went straight to the kitchen to prepare dinner after changing.
She gave Bai Feifei no opening.
Whenever Bai Feifei got near the kitchen, Bai Yao shooed her away.
“Kitchen’s off-limits, idle hands out!”
“Hmph, meanie sister, I don’t like you anymore! Bai Feifei pouted, muttering angrily.
