Chapter 22: A Rainy Revelation and a Sisterly Suspicion
Morning at the Jiang household living room.
Jiang Cha rubbed her temples, looking at her sister sprawled on the sofa, exasperated. “Just two nights without seeing the little one… and you’re this out of it?”
“She came last night…”
Jiang Ning weakly raised a hand. Nothing happened, so why was she more exhausted than an all-nighter?!
“Pfft!”
Jiang Cha couldn’t hold back a laugh. “Silly sister, you can’t handle a succubus. Leave her to me!”
“Heh…”
Jiang Ning sipped her coffee, silent, thinking, Maybe tonight I’ll actually do something.
But!
Why was sleeping so tiring? And… was her back actually aching? No way she was that weak…
“Gulp… probably not.”
“But… what if?!” Her heart sank. No way, with a cutie around, how could she…
“I’m off to school!”
Jiang Ning fled, making Jiang Cha laugh louder. After a bit, she quietly took out her phone, whispering, “Uncle Wang, get me some kidney supplements.”
Uncle Wang: “???”
His teapot clattered to the floor. Trembling, he pulled out his phone. “Master! Big trouble! The young miss doesn’t like girls anymore…”
“???”
A pause, then relieved laughter. “That’s good…”
Uncle Wang rushed, “But she’s with someone kidney-deficient!!”
“What?!”
…
“W-wah…”
Luo Su emerged from her blankets, hair a mess, dozing off while dressing. “Why… so tired…”
(And hungry enough to eat a cow!)
She dumped cat food for Hulu, nearly tossing in its big tail.
“Ugh… can’t hold on.”
Luo Su shoved a candy in her mouth, rushing downstairs. She needed three steamed buns, or she’d faint on the roadside!
…
“Ugh… I’m alive!”
Cradling hot buns, Luo Su teared up—never thought plain buns could be this good!
“So last night…”
Cheeks puffed, she sighed, her tail drooping. “Didn’t recharge at all…”
But,
She’d expected that. Next time, she’d do… something fun.
Classroom.
Luo Su and Jiang Ning locked eyes. After a brief silence, Luo Su asked guiltily, “Didn’t sleep well?”
“…”
Jiang Ning gave her a suspicious look, then nodded. “Yeah, insomnia last night. You?”
“Got hooked on a game…”
Luo Su’s lie came easily. Jiang Ning couldn’t check her house… right?
The weather today
Wasn’t great. By evening, the world seemed cloaked in gray-blue mist, with drizzle falling on the distant skyline.
Luo Su gazed at the gloomy sky, sighing softly. “Hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow…”
Jiang Ning, curious, asked, “Got plans?”
“Nope…”
Luo Su’s pen “accidentally” poked a hole in her book. Thinking fast, she looked out. “J-just… it’s the weekend. Rainy days suck for going out.”
“I see.”
Jiang Ning closed her book.
Luo Su exhaled quietly. She’d told Jiang Ning her plans—she couldn’t slip up now.
…
“Luo Su, let’s go!”
Gao Ye slung on his bag. As a boarder, weekends were prime relaxation time.
“Got it!”
Luo Su shoved her desk forward, bypassing Jiang Ning, and chased after. Time to work and buy candies!
Gao Ye opened his umbrella, rain pattering on it. “Let’s scout the mall route to save time tomorrow!”
“Mhm!”
Luo Su nodded, cool rain slipping into her collar, making her tail twitch uneasily under her clothes.
In the rain,
Gao Ye eyed cuddly couples under umbrellas, sourly muttering, “So blatant… not afraid of the dean’s tea party?”
Luo Su was about to reply
When she spotted a familiar figure at the gate—Jiang Cha leaning on a car, wipers swaying rhythmically.
Luo Su sneaked her phone up,
Catching Jiang Cha standing cluelessly in the rain, her jacket soaked.
(Such a dumb big sister…)
Her finger tapped, freezing the moment.
Raindrops traced silver arcs in the photo, framing her gentle, searching figure.
Luo Su stared, lips curling up—
Turn this into an emoji… “Rainy Sister-Statue” or something…
It’d be hilarious!
Her tail wiggled excitedly, imagining Jiang Cha’s fuming reaction.
“Who’s that?”
Gao Ye asked curiously. “Pretty, but not from our school, right?”
“Jiang Ning’s sister,” Luo Su answered casually.
“…”
Behind them, Jiang Ning froze in the rain, umbrella dripping.
(When did I…)
(Tell Luo Su I had a sister?)
“Man, I want a girlfriend,” Gao Ye pouted. “What’s it like, Luo Su?”
“…”
Luo Su paused, glumly saying, “Tiring. Really tiring…”
“Why?”
Gao Ye blinked. Jiang Ning edged closer.
Luo Su blushed, guilty. “Just… feels that way. Don’t know much else.”
“…”
Gao Ye was speechless. “Tiring? They look happy, grinning like idiots.”
“Let’s go, let’s go.”
Just thinking of Jiang Ning and her sister made Luo Su’s back ache. A whole day, still so tired. Could girls get kidney deficiency? But she’s a succubus!
Even if she’s tiny,
No way she’s that weak! Two naughty women… wore her out? Ugh, she felt so useless.
Weren’t girls
Supposed to have… no limits? Yet her head felt floaty, all weird.
“Sigh… let’s go.”
Gao Ye shook his umbrella, water flying. “I’m nuts, asking a fellow single dog like you, hehe.”
“…”
Luo Su pouted, muttering, “I have a girlfriend.”
“You got nothing…”
Gao Ye chuckled. “Fool your bros, fine, but don’t fool yourself.”
“…”
Luo Su’s heart sank. She tugged her tail, consoling herself. “Worst case… get two girlfriends. Girls’ joy isn’t lacking!”
And… she could just lie back and enjoy.
