Chapter 28: The relationship is really good, we all get along well

Li Daming never imagined he’d be inexplicably doused with dirty water despite doing nothing.

The accusers presented their case so convincingly, with solid evidence, leaving him no chance to prove his innocence.

“Li Daming, you killed my brothers,” Luo Chen said, feigning grief. “If not for what’s-his-name giving me this recording stone, I wouldn’t have known you were capable of this.”

His tone turned icy: “Today, unless you hand over Luo Jiutian and give us an explanation, this isn’t over.”

Li Daming laughed in exasperation: “I’ll say it again—I didn’t kill your people, and Luo Jiutian never joined the Li family! Even if I were that stupid, I wouldn’t do something so absurd in public!”

“Then explain—” Luo Chen said coldly, “what’s with the recording stone’s footage?”

Li Daming’s mind sparked with realization.

He’d been frantically denying his involvement, but the more he protested, the guiltier he seemed.

From Luo Chen’s perspective, his denials sounded unconvincing, like a sign of weakness.

So, how could he prove his innocence?

Right—find the one framing him, and it’d all unravel.

Start with this so-called “evidence” and follow the trail to find the flaw.

Taking a deep breath, Li Daming forced himself to calm down.

He put on a composed expression: “Luo Chen, who gave you this recording stone?”

Luo Chen blinked, surprised by the question, and countered: “Why do you care?”

Li Daming stared at him: “You’re treating this stone as ironclad proof against me. If you’re going to condemn me, at least say where it came from. Or are you afraid to reveal that?”

His words stirred the Li family members to chime in:

“Exactly! You don’t even explain where it came from—how’s that proof?”

“Yeah, if you’re talking evidence, give us the full story!”

“Don’t just pin it on someone!”

The situation grew tense.

Xiao Yan watched, amused, while Su Zimo fanned himself, his expression unreadable.

Luo Chen paused, then pointed to a Luo disciple: “He gave it to me.”

The disciple stepped forward cautiously: “It was me… but what’s-his-name gave it to me first.”

Li Daming: ?

He froze, unable to process.

“Wait, who?”

The disciple said earnestly: “What’s-his-name.”

Li Daming’s forehead vein pulsed: “I’m asking for a specific name—don’t mess with me.”

Luo Chen calmly replied: “He’s been clear—it’s what’s-his-name.”

“So who the hell is it?”

“What’s-his-name!”

“Goddamn it, you’re pushing me too far—I’m done!”

Li Daming couldn’t take it anymore.

Already fuming from being framed and questioned, now they wouldn’t even give him a straight answer, treating him like an idiot.

This wasn’t justice—it was a setup!

Livid, Li Daming charged at Luo Chen, fist raised.

“Screw your ‘murderer’! Screw your ‘evidence’!”

“You don’t want to talk? Fine, let’s fight!”

Luo Chen hadn’t expected Li Daming to snap. Unprepared, he was forced back three steps by a punch.

He was stunned.

Weren’t they just talking about clearing things up?

Why’d it turn into a brawl?

Seeing Li Daming’s furious, teeth-gritting face, Luo Chen hesitated.

Could it really not be him?

His reaction seemed like genuine outrage.

But the recording stone’s evidence was undeniable—what was going on?

As he pondered, Li Daming swung another fist, aiming for his chest without holding back.

Luo Chen dodged, shouting: “Wait! Calm down! Li Daming, just hand over Luo Jiutian, and we can talk.

Look at the situation—the Luo and Su families together outmatch your Li family. Fighting will only cost lives. Let’s negotiate…”

Li Daming, already enraged, laughed bitterly.

“Now you’re scared?

I tried reasoning, and you kept harping on evidence and guilt. Now I throw a punch, and you back off? Bullying the weak, huh?

Think I’m an easy target?”

With that, he unleashed a punch, sending a Luo disciple flying.

The Li family erupted, roaring: “Get ‘em!”

Su Zimo snapped his fan shut, calling: “Young Master Luo, I’ve got your back!”

Luo Chen, who’d hoped to keep things under control, lost patience.

He waved his hand, shouting: “No retreat now! The Luo family won’t be humiliated—fight! Kill!”

The Li family clashed with the Luo-Su alliance in an instant.

Spiritual energy exploded, spells flew, weapons clashed, dust surged.

Xiao Yan, decisive, led his Xiao members to the sidelines, sitting on the grass, munching seeds while watching.

In the center, the Li and Luo-Su forces fought fiercely.

Li Daming and Luo Chen clashed head-on, trading blows relentlessly, trading insults too.

“Luo Chen, besides posturing, what can you do?!” Li Daming roared.

Luo Chen sneered: “This is all you’ve got? I thought the Li family’s heir was stronger!”

Their moves were ruthless—fist against spear, each clash shaking the ground, shockwaves rippling.

Luo Chen was secretly shocked.

He’d used the Thirteen Star-Chasing Forms, yet Li Daming matched him blow for blow.

Li Daming was equally stunned.

He knew Luo Chen was no pushover, but hadn’t expected him to hold his own against a peak Foundation Establishment cultivator.

The battle grew chaotic, both sides fully committed, neither yielding.

Suddenly, a rich aroma wafted over the battlefield.

It was the scent of fatty meat, seared crisp outside, tender inside, its juices sizzling on charcoal.

The fighters paused instinctively, noses twitching, eyes puzzled.

They followed the scent, confused.

At the battlefield’s edge, Luo Jiutian sat, calmly grilling meat.
