Chapter 20 : The Elder Brother’s Visor

“Where you going, Xu You? Not eating with us?”

“Nah, got stuff.”

“? Same last time. Not to pry, but you’ve been off lately.”

No reply; he turned leisurely, gaze lingering on the opposite building.

Year 1 side. Mom mentioned sister starting today.

Curious—her aloof, people-shy personality in teen-packed school?

What if bullied?

Lunchtime—she’d be in class.

Perfect chance to check.

Skipped meal, strolled yet sneaky to Year 1.

“Wait… don’t know her class…”

“Guess… start from Class 1.”

Over a dozen classes; narrowed to liberal arts.

Lingered at each corridor window.

“Class 3…”

“First two no—maybe here…”

Glanced casually, low hopes—then froze at familiar wheelchair in corner.

“…No way.”

His lurking drew passerby stares; he ignored.

Saw sister… being hit on?

Average guy, slouched, shy smile at her desk—chatting.

Unsettled.

Imagined dialogue—from his view, she didn’t seem annoyed.

Expression never shown him—given free to a rando?

How not upsetting…

“Senior, looking for someone?”

“Ah.”

“You’ve been outside our class forever. Need somebody?”

Caught; he’d hoped harmonious peek.

Now exposed—hesitated.

He had rep; new sister—if rumors or bullying from him, parents would kill him.

One foot in—pulled back.

“Fine… just confirm she’s okay…”

“Meeting later…”

Memorized the guy’s face; slipped away quietly.

Meanwhile, Xu You just gone—Xu Jiu sensed, gaze suspicious to corridor.

“Someone there…?”

“What’s up, Xu Jiu?”

“Nothing, illusion.”

“Uh, back to topic—how sure on those global events? Some unreported—you predict decisively?”

“Mm… guessed~”

“Guessed?”

“Yeah. Shouldn’t you find absurd? Why serious?”

“Uh… how say…”

“Your confidence—not mere guesses.”

“You state facts, conclusive—unchallengeable.”

Guy’s eyes odd yet thoughtful; Xu Jiu noted.

Reminded her.

“So credibility?”

“Thirty percent.”

“Oh, that high?”

“Shaken by words… or…”

“You differ from nonsense blowhards.”

“Logical, full chains—like foreseeing.”

“Some views overlap mine—but you cover all angles.”

Xu Jiu lifted gaze; crashed topic for fun—now spotlight.

Unexpected.

“Yeah, coincidence.”

“Just curious fun-person. Take lightly—right by luck. No high regard.”

Polite smile; wanted out.

“Want to jot your points for analysis? Repeat?”

“Uh, nap… next time?”

Hesitant; he missed refusal, pressed.

“Quick, please! Need your logic!”

“Post—I’ll credit. Can’t stand know-it-alls—smash with facts!”

“Uh, using me to argue…”

“Argue? What’s that.”

“Nothing. Stop pestering—need noon rest.”

“Li Xin, scram! Harassing? She wants rest.”

Jiang Youyou stood, shooing; Xu Jiu grateful.

“He’s obsessed—online fights nonstop. Differs—quarrels. Hilarious.”

“Mm.”

Sigh; saw Xu Jiu’s phone.

“?”

“Phone at school… hide! Leaders confiscate!”

“Uh, really.”

“Actually… your contact? New account—zero friends. First?”

“Contact…”

“Mm.”

She smiled; needed harvest today.
