Chapter 15: You’re the one who turned Xia Xiaocheng into a lolicon!
Alice had never intended to kill Little Mo. She simply had some questions that needed clear answers.
“Senior, what Little Mo said earlier was indeed too much. It was wrong of her to speak about you that way, but there’s no need to kill her, right?”
After all, Xia Xiaocheng had become a magical girl through Little Mo, so she felt obligated to plead on her behalf.
“The liaison has completely lost face for you, Little Mo. You actually begged your own contracted magical girl for help.”
Alice gave a cold evaluation and lightly raised her hand. The large hand woven from magic power dissolved into blue particles, and Little Mo regained her freedom.
“Uwaa! Save me, Yang Bao!”
Little Mo almost instantly pounced into Xia Xiaocheng’s arms and refused to let go no matter what.
“Uh… Little Mo, the contrast with your usual self is huge. Senior already let you go.”
“Uuu! Thank you, Lady Alice, for sparing my life! I’ll tell you everything I know!”
Little Mo twisted her neck and put on a pitiful act. It had to be said that a fluffy cat face selling misery was quite effective. Any kind-hearted and compassionate person would involuntarily soften.
Unfortunately, she was facing Alice — a magical girl who had seen all kinds of storms. Therefore, Alice’s expression remained cold, like an eternal snow mountain radiating chill.
“Liaison Little Mo, let me ask you. Were you searching for and contracting magical girls, as well as providing training, under the rules set by the Spring Court?”
“Um… probably… yes.”
Little Mo quickly lowered her head. Guilt was written all over her face. She didn’t dare face Alice.
“Then show me your contracting license and the proof that you passed the disaster beast response assessment. I strongly suspect you are operating without proper qualifications.”
Alice simply extended her hand forward, demanding to inspect the documents. Little Mo, hiding in Xia Xiaocheng’s arms, became even more nervous. She trembled and looked up at Xia Xiaocheng.
“Yang Bao, you have to trust me. I’m your liaison.”
“But Little Mo, you really never showed me any proof. The contracting process was just you tossing the transformation gem at me. I even thought becoming a magical girl was supposed to be difficult.”
Xia Xiaocheng spoke in the most innocent tone, delivering the most honest words and completely shattering Little Mo’s last hopes.
“Uuu!”
“Meowing won’t help you, Little Mo. How did you come to the human world? Is your behavior of contracting magical girls legal?”
Alice focused on the legal aspect. Little Mo realized she might face outcomes like “detention,” “punishment,” or “imprisonment.” She immediately dropped her previous lucky attitude and chose to confess honestly.
“I’m sorry! Lady Alice! I really know I was wrong! I won’t dare run away from the Spring Court and sneak into the human world again!”
“You finally admit it. You escaped to the human world and illegally smuggled yourself here as a liaison.”
Alice’s eyes turned colder, and the scrutiny in her gaze suddenly intensified.
“Uuu! Please don’t look at me with those eyes. I’m scared.”
Little Mo was truly frightened. Her little paws clutched tightly onto Xia Xiaocheng’s clothes, terrified of falling for even half a second and being sent to the cat planet by Alice.
“Get down from Xia Xiaocheng. Let’s have a proper talk.” Alice lightly rubbed her forehead, not using any greater anger.
“Eh?” Little Mo turned her head. She no longer sensed any threat from Alice.
“Get down. Don’t make me say it a second time. I won’t contact the Spring Court. You have value existing in Weaving Sunny City.”
Only when Alice’s eyes looked genuinely serious did Little Mo completely lower her guard and release her claws from Xia Xiaocheng.
She thought to herself:
It seems… Lady Alice isn’t as terrifying as the Spring Court propaganda made her out to be?
“Let’s go inside first. The following topics are only for magical girls and their liaisons to know.”
Alice stepped into the room. Xia Xiaocheng saw Little Mo still in a daze, so she clasped her hands together, picked her up, and closed the door.
Jiang He’s living room was very spacious. The walls transitioned from paint to a light apricot color. The ceiling was decorated with intricate carved plaster lines in a Western style. A gilded chandelier hung in the center. Sofa, large-screen TV, coffee table — everything was complete. There was even a TV game console and game controllers.
Furnishing a living room like this must have cost quite a lot.
Alice mentally estimated the cost, then turned and saw Xia Xiaocheng holding Little Mo and sitting down on the sofa very familiarly.
“Senior, won’t you sit? I already told Jiang He.”
“No. I’ll wait for the owner of the house. I’ll sit only after receiving formal permission from the host.”
“Senior Alice is so polite.”
“After all, I’m a stranger. Unlike a certain sloppy liaison who lives in someone else’s house, eats dried fish, and nearly put her contracted magical girl in danger.”
Alice glanced at the certain fairy on the sofa. Little Mo, aware of her own shame, lowered her head and didn’t dare retort.
Rustle rustle.
A sound suddenly came from the bathroom. Slippers shuffled across the floor, and Jiang He appeared slowly.
“So noisy… Little Mo, is that you and Xiaocheng?”
Pushing open the glass bathroom door and walking into the living room was a girl wearing pink pajamas. She looked about the same age as Xia Xiaocheng, but her hair was a rare white color. She rubbed her sleepy eyes with small hands, and a pair of bright red pupils opened wide.
Is she an albino? Jiang He.
Alice felt slightly surprised inside, but her surface remained calm, maintaining the persona of someone who remained composed in any situation.
Jiang He had clearly seen Alice. She blinked with some hesitation, then looked at Xia Xiaocheng and Little Mo beside her.
The postures of the girl and the fairy instantly became serious. They had already treated Alice as the boss.
“Oh! I get it! You’re the one who turned Xiaocheng into a loli-con!”
Jiang He pointed at Alice. A bright smile appeared on her face.
Such a shocking opening statement left Alice momentarily stunned. It was hard for her to keep her calm expression.
Did I turn my sister Xia Xiaocheng into a loli-con?
It was hard to hold back, because last night when Xia Xiaocheng was on the phone with Jiang He, she had indeed used the words “beautiful girl loli, exactly my XP.”
It turned out Jiang He had a very good memory and remembered everything.
“Aaaah! Jiang He, what are you saying!” Xia Xiaocheng sprang up, her legs moving quickly as she rushed forward to cover Jiang He’s mouth. Then she turned to Alice with a face full of apology. “I’m sorry, Senior! Jiang He is still half-asleep! She just woke up, and I’m not a loli-con at all!”
“Uh, cough. Xia Xiaocheng, be careful. Don’t suffocate her.”
Alice turned her face aside. She needed to adjust her expression and also prevent her sister from feeling too embarrassed.
“Mmm mmm mmm.” Jiang He looked up at Xia Xiaocheng and narrowed her eyes, ordering her to let go quickly.
“Jiang He, don’t mention what happened last night. I still have face. This is a very powerful senior.”
Xia Xiaocheng hurriedly pulled Jiang He aside and whispered for a good while before finally explaining the relationship clearly.
“Oh! So you’re Senior Alice. I understand. Hello, Senior. I’m Jiang He.”
Jiang He gave a formal greeting, but her eyes were still lazy. Her body swayed slightly as if she hadn’t slept enough, and half her soul seemed to have already drifted away.
“Hello, Jiang He. I am Magical Girl Alice. Nice to meet you. I came because of matters concerning Little Mo and all of you.”
Alice stated her purpose. Although the first meeting had been a bit awkward, the first official exchange with Weaving Sunny City’s magical girl team had begun.
