Chapter 12: He’s my boyfriend ?

A Tense Respite

After signing for the last fan, Su Keke exhaled.
Her agent, seated across, advised, “Keke, let’s eat in the van.
If you don’t want fast food, we can book a private room at a nicer place.
It’s too crowded here—you’ll get swarmed for signatures and can’t eat.
Plus, buffet food isn’t great…”

“No, Wang Jie, I’m craving a buffet today.
Could you grab some food for me?
If I go, I’ll get mobbed.”

The middle-aged woman, Wang Jie, nodded.
Su Keke was rarely demanding, and they worked well together.
But today, she seemed off—maybe she really wanted a buffet.

Once Wang Jie left, Su Keke’s gaze locked onto the next table.

A Stark Contrast

Lin Lu devoured shrimp, eyed the tripe in the pot, and grabbed crab legs, too busy to breathe.

Since going broke, he hadn’t had a meal over 20 yuan, let alone a 150-yuan buffet—equal to a week’s food budget.
Back then, 150 yuan wouldn’t cover a fruit platter.

Opposite him, Yi Dian Dian’s bowl was pristine, save for a few fruit salad bites.
She fidgeted, restless, ready to bolt.

When Su Keke’s sharp gaze swept over, Yi Dian Dian trembled like a lamb before a wolf, guiltily bowing her head like an ostrich.

“Dot, didn’t expect you to be so chummy with your ex post-breakup, dining together~
How long’s it been since you invited me, your bestie, out to eat?”

Her tone dripped with sarcasm, aimed squarely at Yi Dian Dian.

Lin Lu stayed silent, shoveling food, dodging the brewing storm.
Angering both could end his meal—one spit from each would drown him.

A Weak Defense

Yi Dian Dian pouted, her voice feeble.
“As if he wasn’t your ex too…”

“No…” Su Keke faltered, then snorted.
“Then you know who he still is to us?!
Forgot our pact?!”

Lin Lu wished he could pack up and leave.
Their next words were bound to shred him.

“Sworn enemy, never reconciled…”

Yi Dian Dian glanced at Lin Lu, then looked away.

“Good you remember.
Thought his pretty face had you starry-eyed again, brainwashed like before,” Su Keke sneered.

Blushing, Yi Dian Dian shook her head.
“No way! I’m only nurturing revenge now!”

Lin Lu’s mouth twitched.
‘Calling me your enemy to my face, really?’

“Then what’re you doing now?”

“We… we’re just organizing the gala together, assigned by the counselor.
This dinner’s to discuss it… that’s all.”

Yi Dian Dian’s voice lacked conviction, despite the truth.

An Aggressive Move

Su Keke slid into the seat beside Yi Dian Dian, drawing envious stares from other tables.
Dining with Miss Keke? A dream.

But the mood at their table ignited with her next question.

“Why didn’t you tell me the second you saw this scum?!
Wasn’t that our deal?!”

Su Keke leaned in, their cheeks nearly touching—one stunning, one adorable, a captivating duo.

“I… I…” Yi Dian Dian stammered, unable to reveal her secret intentions, her face reddening.
This was why she’d panicked when Su Keke approached—she’d broken their “wartime pact.”

“And you dodged me at the entrance, clearly hiding you two…”

“No, no! I… I was scouting the enemy, planning to report later.
I’ve got his weakness now!” Yi Dian Dian scrambled.

“Really…?” Su Keke eyed her doubtfully.

“Totally! Lin’s dirt poor now—a little cash controls him!”

Lin Lu didn’t mind the jab.
If they paid, control away—pride meant little against survival.

A Shifting Battle

The tension eased, their spat seemingly resolved.
But then Lin Lu felt a kick under the table.
Su Keke glared, fuming he’d dined with Yi Dian Dian.

Was she… jealous?
But she hated him—yet, she was his official girlfriend now, giving her grounds.

Still, jealousy didn’t add up.

Before Su Keke could unleash her wrath, Lin Lu cut in.
“Didn’t you say this morning you deleted their contacts, Senior?”

That morning, Su Keke ran into him and planned to rally his exes against him, only to claim she’d lost their numbers.
Now, Lin Lu saw it was a lie.

Her motives? Unclear.

Unfazed, he added more meat to the pot, even serving them pieces to fuel their fight, then retreated.

His bombshell landed hard.
Yi Dian Dian’s mind whirred—Su Keke had found Lin Lu first but hadn’t told her either!

Su Keke broke their pact first!

A Reversal of Fortunes

The tables turned.
Yi Dian Dian puffed up like a pufferfish, glaring at her hypocritical bestie.

Su Keke, flustered, slunk back to her table just as Wang Jie returned with food.

“I’m starving, let’s eat.”

“Su! Ke! Ke!
No eating till you explain!”

Tiny Yi Dian Dian’s fury was fierce, like a rabbit baring its teeth.

Su Keke, hiding her own schemes, knew she was in the wrong.
She’d tried to seize the moral high ground, but Lin Lu’s reveal wrecked her plan.

As Yi Dian Dian pressed for answers, Su Keke snapped, standing again.
This time, she sat beside Lin Lu.

“He’s my boyfriend now.
What’s there to explain?!”
