Chapter 36 : Weird Campus 5 Link

Xu Nian’s gaze met a pair of clear, glass-like eyes that blinked at her.

“You okay? Anything feel off?”

Doubt flickered in Xu Nian’s eyes as she studied Shen Musi’s flawless, innocent expression, hands neatly resting on her pleated skirt.

Had she misjudged?

Staring into Shen Musi’s eyes, Xu Nian said slowly, “Fila.”

Shen Musi tilted her head. “Who’s that?”

Xu Nian leaned closer, her dark eyes locked on her, making Shen Musi’s face flush.

Not the Young Lady, then.

“What happened after I passed out?”

Xu Nian pulled back, stiffly changing the subject.

Shen Musi, still blushing, glanced at her, then away. “I passed out too…”

“Didn’t see who chained us?”

“No, but…” Shen Musi paused, as if recalling something. “Before I blacked out, I think I saw a blonde woman.”

The Young Lady, always binding people.

Xu Nian tugged at the chain on her wrist, its other end linked to Shen Musi’s hand.

Shen Musi gave a helpless smile. “Guess we’re stuck together now.”

Qi Ye pointed ahead, shouting, “Look!”

All eyes followed. Chalk words appeared on the blackboard:

[School Rules]

To foster a nurturing environment and uphold excellent school spirit, we’ve tailored these rules for you. Please read and follow them carefully:

[Rule 1]: Get along harmoniously with classmates.

[Rule 2]: Keep the classroom well-lit.

[Rule 3]: Don’t leave your seat during class.

[Rule 4]: Stand to answer when called by the teacher.

[Rule 5]: Don’t linger in the classroom after school ends at 7 p.m.

!@/”%/~?

Below Rule 5, smudged eraser marks hinted at erased text.

Ran Feng, a seasoned player, darkened. “Careful. Rules 3 and 4 conflict.”

Don’t leave your seat, but stand to answer?

What do you do if called on during class?

“So, what do we do?” Qi Dong’s powdered face soured, lips downturned.

“Usually, rules show the game’s duration, but…” Ran Feng paused, eyeing the board. “Not this time.”

Yuan Shen, chained to Qi Dong, said, “So we need clues to figure out the game’s length, right?”

Xu Nian noticed Qi Ye, alone in the corner, wasn’t bound to anyone. The rest were paired with their deskmates.

Xu Nian and Shen Musi.

Yuan Shen and Qi Dong.

Ran Feng and Zhang San.

Qi Ye, solo.

Xu Nian, inspecting her chain, spoke up, “The game lasts three days.”

Yuan Shen looked skeptical. “How do you know?”

Xu Nian nodded toward the schedule. “The timetable.”

A neat schedule hung by the blackboard, listing three days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

“Why’s it Friday to Sunday?” Qi Ye, free to move, approached it. “Weird.”

Ran Feng analyzed, “So, three days. We complete the listed classes?”

Bang!

A scar-faced figure burst in, clutching a skull, radiating menace.

Xu Nian’s eyelid twitched. “Get down.”

Soft arms wrapped around her neck. Shen Musi buried her face in Xu Nian’s chest, whispering, “I’m scared.”
